Absolutely adorable grocery shop and eatery!!! They have things that you didn't even know you needed to eat/drink/enjoy from Mint Tim Tams to pomegranate soda!! The store is full of so many fun items, fresh, frozen, canned, bagged, and adorable gifts that you can bring for housewarming parties, bridal showers, and more!!! And don't get me started on their menu - it is not large but everything is delicious and their sandwiches come with chips and adorable little grapes!! Have I talked about their oasis of a backyard yet? So stinking cute - a dome for inclement weather and fresh herbs that I'm sure they use in their food! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! This is still my favorite local food spot, even though it's not around the corner from me anymore. Their new location is BIGGER and BETTER than ever! The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. Wondering if they'll be getting more of that yummy snack or seasoning you picked up there last week? Ask them! They're always happy to get things back in stock if you want them to (supply chain permitting, of course). If they don't have it or can't get it, they'll help you figure out where you should be able to get it. I watched one of the owners spend 10-15 min with a customer trying to find a couple of specific ingredients for a dish they were planning on making that night. The owner called another local store to ask if they had those items in stock and then gave the customer full directions to drive there from Culinary Architecture. Besides their excellent selection of packaged goods and produce, the food and drinks they make in-house are also exceptionally good! Sweet treats? Meat (and No-Meat) pies? Bread? Caffeine fix? They have it all, with a solid selection of staple recipes and a rotating menu of new/seasonal items! I come to this area of Little Italy about every six weeks. been to Culinary Architecture twice now. Today I had a salmon roll with sides of fruit and salad and a citrus ginger tea. Oh my goodness -absolutely superb flavors, freshness, and ambiance. the sauce that came with the salmon roll was a very special treat!! It is immediately evident that quality ingredients are a primary focus and I appreciate that. - selections on the menu are unique and memorable. Service wise, it was very pleasant to not be rushed to eat and go - a lovely area for great food and conversation. They also have a grocery area, as well as some unusual gifts. Located in Pigtown (an area worth exploring), this market has interesting finds from pastries like roasted grape and cheese danishes to a shelf of hot sauces. Culinary Architecture is a true gem in Washington Village. A gourmet grocery store/ deli that promotes function, conservation, and high-quality goods crafted by makers from around the world. Sylvia (one of the owners) always provides amazing recommendations, customer service and overall a blessing to the community. She even gave me a reusable grocery bag for my shopping. The food selection is definitely out of my comfort level, but I always enjoy my purchase. Sylvia put me on the rosemary lamb sausage, highly recommend if you are a lamb lover like myself. I first came here with my family on a trip to our grandparents house. This shop is a local gem, with the most hospitable staff I've ever met. The food is amazing too, with a large selection of wines and sandwiches. They let us eat food from a different restaurant in their backyard patio. Such a great neighborhood find. Finally popped in after walking by several times but never having time to check it out. It's tiny but mighty. I spent much longer than anticipated inside because it's bursting with cultural delights. Spices from Greece, noodles from Japan, Polish snacks, fresh fruit and veggies, and everything in between. An incredible little grocery store that has almost every imaginable "rare" ingredient - if you're thinking of trying a new recipe and need ingredients check here. They have a variety of Asian, European, and Cajun meats and spices you won't find anywhere else. They also make their own food and have a little backyard courtyard you can eat it in - the fish pie was particularly delicious. It's a real gem and I love stopping in every so often to browse and pick up a few random things. read more

This place is such a cool find! I can't believe I haven't stopped by here before. I got a biscuit and cookie to go. I got the vegetarian biscuit with hummus, cucumbers, and feta cheese. It was so big and so delicious. There was a ton of hummus on it (which is a good thing in my opinion since I love hummus). I had a hard time picking a dessert because all the options looked amazing. I ended up going with the oatmeal cookie. It was crunchy on the outside, and gooey on the inside. The owner was also very friendly. She greeted us when we came in, and told us a lot about the food. What a wonderful surprise to find this specialty market in the up-and-coming Pigtown neighborhood of Baltimore just around the corner from our AirBnB. Proprietor welcomed us into the shop which is adjacent to her catering kitchen. Fruits and vegetables along with baked sweets and delicacies beside a wide variety of interesting ingredients. We enjoyed the rhubarb pice, blueberry cobbler and a creative giant ginger cookie with apricot preserves to share! Looking forward to tasting the lamb pot pie! read more

I have lived in pigtown for the almost three years and I've never stepped foot into the store until yesterday. I came into the wrong door LOL and was quickly guided to the correct side where I was greeted by a nice lady. This store is the truth! I love to cook so this is a foodie heaven they have all kinds of stuff in here. They make and sell all kinds of food yesterday I saw sugar cookies, lemon bars, carrot cake, baked pastries filled with Caribbean curry chicken and meatball mozzarella for examples. The meatball and mozzarella smelled amazing I may go back today to get one. On top of that they also sell all kinds of ice cream vegan and regular, charcuterie meats and cheeses, different types of noodles, grains like quinoa , spices from all over the world xcetera. You get where I'm going with this. I purchased the carrot cake, taharka bro honey Graham Ice Cream( if you have not had this you need to try it it is one of my favorite flavors of ice cream and one of their most popular) and a peaches and cinnamon ice cream sandwich. The carrot cake was a little dry I don't know if it was a certain kind or different style but that still doesn't make me not want to come back LOL. The ice cream sandwich was delicious. I have never had an ice cream sandwich like that they even had peaches in the ice cream. They were also giving away free cookbooks yes free who doesn't like free so I took about five of them. 1 was called Thomas Jefferson's cookbook and I am into history so that was really cool. I absolutely love culinary architecture!! The two owners are incredibly friendly and are Pig Town locals. The store front of Culinary Architecture has gourmet food items for sale. You can find gems like bacon jam, caramel apple peanut butter, elderflower drink mix, fire roasted habanero sauce, fig vinaigrette, cook books, spicy maple syrup and soo much more!! They're good menu changes weekly and I honestly have left feeling unsatisfied yet!! I come in at lease once a week to try something new from the menu. They have about 4 chairs in the middle of the front of the store if you wanted to sit and eat after ordering food. This place is a great neighborhood find and a unique addition to Baltimore. So excited this tasty little number came to Pigtown!! To be fair, it's not totally accurate to call this shop little when it packs a huge punch. Foodie gifts and treats. Prepared foods To Go. Not to mention a number of household items and hostess gifts. Early Favs: Ice cream by the pint. Cookies. Pot pies ~ savory and sweet. Recent Meals: We picked up a taco kit for dinner one evening and for $20.00 were fed, full and delighted by the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Pulled pork and chicken. Veggies. Salsa. I came in with a group for lunch today. They let us know that they were working on a huge order and apologized about the wait. So we ordered, sat down, and five minutes later they brought out two big bowls or chips, salsa, and guacamole on the house as we waited! So kind. Other than that, the food we ordered was delicious. I contracted with Culinary Architecture to cater an event in Fed Hill. They delivered breakfast and lunch and I could not have been happier. The food and presentation were amazing, and Sylva took a few challenges I presented (needing at least some vegan and gluten free dishes; a late-in-the-game increase in the number of people) as an opportunity to really shine in creativity. Sylva and Piper made 100 people very, very happy today. Oh and only a few days ago I added some platters in the evening for the after party and with no effort on my part, Sylva delivered knockout platters that were sophisticated, creative, original and just super, super delicious.
