We've passed this place several times. Saying, we should try this place. But we were already enroute somewhere. Friday, we stopped to try it out. When you enter there's no one behind the counter. After a while you wonder if they're open. Are you standing at the right place? Do I ring a bell? Like they used to do in hotels. Hence the name "Bell hop". Eventually a young woman came out and took out our order. Shrimp burger, regular burger, onion rings, and sodas. You go around to the left, of the counter, there's a Boylan's soda machine and the window where you pick up your order. I was pleasantly surprised to find actual chunks of shrimp in the burger. Could've been a little bigger so it fit on the potato roll better. Otherwise, it was tasty and moist. The roll was good. || Sidebar: McDonalds in Hachioji Japan had them on their menu 24 years ago. It was the onion rings. See the photo. That was truly a disappointment. Fried almost to the point of being cremated and full of grease. They are real onions, though. But cooked so long that the only flavor was cooking oil.

I was really excited to try this place. My fiancé tried it once and was raving about it so we decided to take a drive. I love how they offer gluten free buns and different options for burger meat. You can get a regular beef burger, chicken, shrimp or lamb. I love the variety. I also loved that you can customize your toppings. There are toppings available at an additional charge, as well as quite a few that aren't additional. You can also get two patties instead of one. I ended up getting a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, grilled mushrooms and avocado, on a gluten free bun. The burger was super delicious! You don't have an option on how the meat is cooked but I was happy with the way it turned out. I added the avocado and it was $2. That's kind of pricy but I wanted the creamy freshness so I opted for it. Unfortunately, I received such a small amount of a avocado that I thought they forgot to add it until I eventually found it. It wasn't worth the price. The gluten free bun was really good though. It was toasted and wasn't dry at all. It also didn't fall apart and I really wish I knew what kind of bun that was. We ordered fries and they were really good. I love natural cut fries. I just wish they were a tad less salty. I will absolutely return again. I really enjoyed the burger, just won't be adding the avocado again. I think next time I'll add a shake as well.

I am a big fan of a bakery called Berts Breads in Fishkill. When I heard they were using rolls made by Bert I figured I would give them a try. I got a single burger the way they suggested . I thought the name of the restaurant was perfect. It was a very good fresh burger on a really good roll. I got a side of sweet potato fries that were excellent. They have a really big menu with lots of choices. I will go back often. Definitely worth a stop.

Side note: I have to agree with the 2nd reviewer about the fries - they were pretty heavy-handed with the salt.

The excitement was unmatched walking into the building. Peeking in the back where the beer is made, so cool. The open room of the venue itself was nice as well. Lots of merch, lots of beer to go. We purchased two crew necks, a hat, and some beer. The staff behind the bar were able to help answer any and all questions that we gave to them. THEN we sat down to eat. Juice Bomb pint (obviously) and a Happier Hours pint. Started with the chilequiles tater tots and holy heck those were delicious. We also ended up getting the Porky's Revenge sandwich and Sloop Smashed Burger....no photos though because we were too excited to eat!

We didn't have any of the beers, but no one shamed us for that lol It wasn't busy when we got there, but I am sure it does get busy in there. Being from NYC area I am used to places having tons of competition or there being plenty of alternatives. This spot is definitely in a league of it's own out here and I think the same could be said if it were in NYC. The vibe inside was cool, spacious, and a little bit nerdy. But only a little bit :-(

I first heard about Flavor Bandit at a Yelp event. It's an all-female staffed family business…read moremother, daughter, auntie. A real family affair. Fast forward to a ridiculously rainy, pitch-black night, I saw them parked, checked out the menu, and decided to finally try it out. I ordered two sandwiches and waited inside while it downpoured. While I waited, I chatted with Shout out to Christine C. (who, was wearing open-toe sandals in that mess of a storm), and it finally clicked--this was the food truck I had heard about! I'd already been hyped from the event, but now it was about to get real. Time to see if they lived up to the buzz. Aunty handed me my sandwiches--and let me tell y'all, they did not miss. Not on flavor, not on freshness, not on the care they put into making that food. The smash burger? Two juicy patties dripping with flavor, melted cheese, fresh tomato, and that bandit sauce. I don't know exactly what's in that sauce it's giving aioli vibes but whatever it is, it hit. I took one bite, and before I finished chewing, I already wanted another. Flavor on flavor. And the chicken sandwich? It didn't come to play either. A lot of chicken sandwiches are just... fine. This one pulled out all the tricks. The chicken breast was seasoned all the way through, battered with a crispy crunch (not soggy), and topped with fresh, crisp veggies. You could tell they battered it themselves. This wasn't some tired fast-food version. This sandwich had something to say and I heard it loud and clear. Food trucks can be hit or miss. At one point, they were the next cupcake trend everyone had one, but few stood out. Flavor Bandits Food Truck hit different. They're serving serious eats at solid prices, all from the window of a truck. Local business. Kind people. All-female run. And absolutely crushing it with big flavor and good vibes. Follow them on socials. Track them down. Get yourself a smash burger, a chicken sandwich, and don't forget extra bandit sauce. You'll thank me later. Easy 5 out of 5 stars.

We thought it was still Hudson Gyro with a new name. There…read morewere a few cars there, and it was lunchtime, so we figured it's OK to stop there to eat. This is a great place for a TV chef, makeover show. We ordered a bratwurst with sauerkraut and a medium rare hamburger. The cashier repeated our order to us and we said "Yes, a bratwurst with sauerkraut and a medium burger." She repeated the order and we told her "Yes, that's it." Also, we'd have a soda later. We found a table; there's no indoor seating. And she brought over the food within a reasonable amount of time. Con's- the burger was a ridiculously overcooked insipid burger on a Kaiser roll that was going stale. The "Bratwurst" was also slightly burned and crumbly. After a few bites I opened the roll to put mustard on the bratwurst I requested and confirmed several times. That's when I noticed it looked like a burned semicircular hamburger. I went back to the window with the meat and said I ordered a Bratwurst, this isn't bratwurst. I don't know what it is? But, it's not a bratwurst! A bratwurst is like a hot dog, not flat and they are definitely NOT spicy. They told me they thought I ordered a Greek sausage sandwich. No. This was after repeating the order 3 times and I watched her write it down! They did offer to replace it, but we lost our appetites. The burger was also inedible. So I politely declined. Once burned, twice shy. That was $16. down the drain. My advice, keep driving there's plenty of other places to eat. Pro's - the sauerkraut and mustard were ok.
