Preface: This is going to be 4 stars until my next 1-2 visits, because I do want to see if my…read moresuggested treatments work out. I visited Derm Assoc. today for the first time because I needed to see someone about two completely different issues- acne and a recurring foot problem. (We have dubbed the foot problem "greyscale" in my house). I saw a nurse practitioner who was super thorough and down to business. She gave me tons of free product for my skin (two full size items and 6 medium sample sizes), and put me on scripts for my acne, both pill form and topical. The foot issue: unsure on how to treat just yet- waiting on results from the lab. I was in and out in no time, but didn't feel rushed at all. The front desk was amazingly efficient as well... seems like this place runs like a top! And everyone was helpful. I'm headed back in mid December and will update then!

So they assigned the nurse practitioner Kate Mc Cabe who looks like she is right out of school and honestly knew less than my son whom had done his extensive research. She insisted on a lotion, rather than the Accutane saying if the lotion does not work, we will prescribe the accutane. 7 weeks later, I go back to the office to get the accutane prescription as his acne had got worst, and I explained that it was creating anxiety and stress for my son and the family. She said we had to make a new appointment to get the prescription, which obviously was their plan all along so they can charge us another $50 co-payment and invoice a fortune to our insurrance. I would stay away from this scam dermatologist obviously abusing the system.

I…read moremade an appointment with Esmeralda for single process, and she carefully looked at my hair to match it with the exact color swatch that would work to match my roots and cover up all of the grays that had sprouted from pandemic parenting stress! Aside from doing excellent work with my hair color, she does a fantastic job with cuts and blowouts. I usually hate getting my hair blow dried when I go to a salon because I feel like I'm getting violently attacked with a heat gun, but Esmeralda is not only gentle, but FAST and makes my natural pin straight hair look super shiny with nice, natural looking body. Esmeralda is now my go-to stylist for coloring and cuts at Salone Estetica. The salon itself is also really clean and everyone who works there is super kind and friendly. There's a really nice and warm community vibe with all the stylists and clients which I always appreciate at any business. It's centrally located in Winchester so it's easy to grab parking in the street for quick appointments, or you can go to the paid by plate lot by the nearest Winchester commuter rail stop to park which is about 5 min away. Overall this is the best experience I've had at a salon in the Greater Boston area.

I was a loyal client here for many years and truly valued the professionalism and care I once…read moreexperienced. This place meant a lot to me. Over time, however, it felt like the management style, particularly at the ownership level, shifted. Communication became inconsistent, and situations that once would have been handled directly and professionally were not. This was not reflective of the front desk team. Many of the therapists I connected with moved on. My most recent experience simply was not the right fit. I did not feel fully heard, and the session felt more rushed than mindful. After the session, there was no follow up or check in at all, which has never happened in any of my previous experiences here. I was tired of bouncing around, so I gave it time to see if things might improve. In the end, she agreed it was not the right fit. What was most disappointing was how it was handled. It took several calls, emails, and texts from me to learn that my sessions had been canceled less than 24 hours before my next appointment. The front desk told me the owner was supposed to call me about the cancellations and to suggest an alternative therapist, but that call never happened, and there was no follow up afterward. There was also a brief moment that stood out. I had left more than 20 percent, though less than the week before because the experience felt different. When I shared that, it was suggested that the front desk might not have passed the full amount along. That surprised me, as the front desk team has always been consistently kind, professional, and trustworthy. I want to be clear that the front desk staff are excellent. They make scheduling seamless, communicate thoughtfully, and create a welcoming environment every time you walk in. I am writing this because I cared about this place. I used to genuinely look forward to coming here. Moving on feels like losing something familiar, almost like losing a friend. I would still welcome a one on one conversation with the owner, as I would have appreciated that before. I hope the practice finds its way back to what once made it so special.

Consistent facials also helped my skin so much (as someone who had congested and acne-prone skin, exacerbated by constant mask wearing). Extractions are very thorough, and painful if it's your first time, but the skincare she uses is super calming and refreshing. IMO, the most improvement is not seen directly after treatment but in the days or weeks following! The treatments helped prevent future blemishes, and makes current or ones deep beneath the skin heal better. Also a super calming environment that I've definitely dozed off in a couple of times.
