Genuinely my highlight of working morning shifts is stopping by for breakfast at this location!! Literally grab a Boudin kolache and a large sausage kolache with mustard and a coffee!!! It's literally THE best!! read more

Bad review intentionally. Just go to shipleys guys. Because why open at 5 am and call yourself a donut place, if everyday at 5 am I gotta wait an hour for donuts. They aren't even fresh and ready by 5 am. I specifically asked " is this going to be everyday ?" And the lady responded "yes". Then don't call yourself a donut place and open up at 5 if donuts aren't going to be ready. Call yourself a kolache shop or something read more

I found a pubic hair on my donut on the glaze and the cream in the Boston crème donut the cream was salty and had hairs in it ,I think a person Sal runs it and smells bad and was itching his crotch mid shift before touching my donuts and then asked me to do non stop 69 in the back of the shop please fix this now read more

This review is based on service and attitude of the older woman that either owns or works at this establishment. She is rude, she is loud, and has no sense of customer service. Their credit card machine is down. And I did not have cash with me. She demanded that I use Zelle and gave me a phone number to pay. I'm a regular customer at this location. I paid and then I reached for the bag and she demanded that I show her my phone. Other people were waiting in line and we all just looked at each other. On a good day, this lady is not a polite person. But I overlook it because I do enjoy the croissants. If I rated this based on just the product, I would give it a five star review. The three star review is generous in today's situation. read more

My coworker bought me some donut holes and a boudin donut/kolache from this place one morning and when I told my finance about it, he absolutely wanted to go back two weekends in a row. The donuts are made fresh and the owner is so so nice. That boudin was absolutely delicious and I always end up getting one now when we go. They have breakfast tacos and croissant sandwiches.. look at that triple egg on the sandwich and the fresh bacon and sausage. Highly recommend this place but come early cause they run out of things the later you show up.. BUT we always find something even close to closing. Not too many tables to dine in and pretty small inside.. but also love that this place was locally owned and not a chain! read more

An amazing little family shop. First time in I was greeted immediately and the staff knew most of the customers who came after me by name. Felt really small town/homey. I came later in the day so there wasn't a ton of things left but the donut holes I got she grabbed from the back fresh and the breakfast sandwiches were AMAZING. Huge portions, great staff and cute location. read more

So I was just looking for a Kolache and I got a Kolache sandwich. Enough said. I came here because it was the next closest place to my apartment that I hadn't yet eaten at. I didn't know what to expect. Nice little spot over in Bellaire area but it's certainly nothing fancy. The staff was incredibly friendly and woman behind the counter whom I assume was either owner or some relation was bubbly and helpful which is always a good experience early in the morning. I ordered a few things I got a Kolache sandwich which had the sausage with bacon and eggs with cheese between the Kolache roll. It was very delicious and creative way of getting a balanced breakfast! I also go an an almond éclair filled with custard and a coconut donut with white icing. These do air were good. I appreciated that the eclair was filled on request. I would say check this place out. read more

Visited fresh and best today. A favorite is the croissant with ham cheese and an egg. Great choices of bottle drinks beverages. The ladies are very nice. The staff. Very delightful. We love a lot of things. Filled donuts, kolaches, croissants, apple fritter, cake donuts, as i said we love our favorite breakfast sandwich. Very filling. Very delicious. They also have breakfast tacos. You can dine in. We often have the dog so we eat in the parking lot. Our visit is always, always a nice one. Great way to start the day. Highly recommend read more

I sent to get some tacos, experienced a very rude person on the counter. Poor customer service. She yelled at me calling me "stupid". Something wrong with person. read more

It's my second time going to Fresh and Best Donuts and I've gotta day, the customer service is on point. We ordered a dozen donut holes, 1 original glazed donut, hot coffee, and an apple fritter. The lady at the front was so nice; she chatted us up and even slipped us an extra original glazed. Donuts are also solid. The sweetness of the glaze and tenderness of the donuts balanced so well with the bitterness of the coffee. Only complaint is that the apple fritter was pretty oily, but my boyfriend was into that so I guess it just depends on personal taste. read more

This place really lives up to their name, as their items are FRESH and one of the BEST donuts in town. On top of that, what really impressed me is that the staff is super friendly and make you feel like they genuinely want to serve you. None of the I-could-care-less-just-here-to-pick-up-my-paycheck attitude. Truly a 5 star gem! Came here around 8:30am on a Friday morning and the place was packed. The cinnamon sugar twists were sold out already, so I opted for half a dozen cinnamon sugar donut holes along with a chocolate glazed donut with peanuts and a ham and cheese kolache. The staff was very patient despite the huge line and seriously A+ for attitude. I was gobbling the donut holes on the drive to work, and after having 4 or 5 (lost count), I looked in the bag to find 4 more...pretty sure they threw in a few extras. Brownie points for the generosity. The donut itself was fresh, fluffy and not greasy. SOOOO good. I had the chocolate glazed peanut donut the next day and it was still excellent. Ham and cheese kolache was yummy as well, but I definitely favor the donuts more. SOO glad I found this place (thanks to Yelp of course), and I can't wait to come back. Highly recommend!!! read more

The place was clean and neat. A nice family owned place. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. My kolache's were better than average. Not a bad experience at all. My only real complaint is the price. A few small kolache's and a drink - $12. I thought I mis-heard her at first. I commented that that was high and cut a speech about food costs - which I get - this just seemed very high for what it is. I could've gotten a sit down breakfast next-door for less. For that, they should've been the best kolaches of my life, but weren't. read more

We were in town for a retreat I was hosting. Delicious donuts for a group. Blueberry and glazed were perfection! Highly recommended.

Fantastic donut shop! I told my husband I wanted to stop somewhere to take his Dr's staff something sweet. My husband yelped this gem the day before. Needless to say, we will be back soon, donuts were almost as good as the service! read more

Best donut shop I have ever been to. Most of the time they give you free donuts if you order alot (which I always do) and they are just super nice when you order. Service is great, normally no line. It's always a really nice atmosphere when I go and I just really love this place. read more

This place looks unassuming but blows Shipleys out of the water. The donuts are just as tasty as they are pretty. The staff is super friendly and how could anyone complain when you get free donut holes with your dozen donuts? Did I mention how inexpensive they are?? $10 for dozen of beautifully decorated, not just glazed, donuts!?! Can you tell I'm a fan? How can I Donuts place NOT get 5 stars? I had an awesome doctor's appointment that morning, so I needed to treat myself. This was the closest donuts place to my doctor's office (thank you, Yelp App). It's a funny turn into the parking lot depending on from where you're entering...just a heads up! The lady who owns it is lovely. So nice, patient, and helpful. I had chocolate doughnut with pink sprinkles (yes, I'm a child), a white iced with rainbow sprinkles, and a cappuccino. I was smiles all around. When you just NEED a doughnut, then this is the place to go. Just writing about this place is making my mouth water - - I may need another one! read more

The plain glazed donut is where it's at!! This is my new favorite donut shop in the Bellaire/Gulfton area. The plain glazed donut is leaps and bound above Shipley's and Dunkin Donuts, which happen to both be right around the corner from this place. The glazed donut is air-y, fluff-y, but the dough is still dense and soft all at the same time. Imagine if you combined a Krispy Kreme donut with a Shipleys donut - try it and you'll see what I mean! The kolaches were good, but not as good as my personal fave which is Donald's Donuts on Nasa Road 1 in Webster. The breaded portion was great, but the insides tasted like a mini hot dog. Still all-in-all a solid kolache. The Asian people running the shop were super nice as well. Will be back! read more

Had a little UYE a while ago here and was able to experience what it's like to try to eat a donut the size of your head. It's real, it's huge, it's heavy and it's quite a challenge. The donut was pretty good, not the best I have had but not the worst. I hate to make it sound like I'm going against the grain but actually I'm a team player when it comes to trying everything once and I did my part for sure. The Kolache my son had was a tad on the "past it's holding time" but he was ok with it. Parking is a little dinky. Have fun finding parking when it gets crowded during rush. Refrigerator that keeps the beverages weren't that cold but suffice. Personnel here are very friendly and are glad to ask any questions that you may have. Please add another half of a star for this review since Yelp refuses to implement one for us. read more

"Hmmm.... donuts...(drooling)" ~ Homer Simpson Read the reviews and my Yelpers did not fail me! Yay! You can definitely taste the freshness in the donuts. There's something different about the donuts here that I can't quite figure out but it's really good and delicious. A donut cost about $0.69 and a giant donut cost $4. Check out the pictures I took. They also have breakfast sandwiches and tacos. All the tacos come with eggs and cheese. I tried the sausage, bacon and potato breakfast taco and I like the bacon breakfast taco the most (it was most flavorful). Each taco cost $2.25 and they were generous with their small portion. They have packaged salsa packages if you want some. I also tried their jalapeno sausage and cheese kolache. It was really good and there was a kick to it. I recommend it if you like spicy. Oh, I tried their chocolate donut hole and it tasted like a chocolate cake. Service: Very friendly Interior: A few tables and chairs. Good for couple or small groups. TV on the wall. Parking: Limited but lots of come and go :: Beware: You'll smell like food if you dine in : read more

Oh yes, I have found breakfast sandwich heaven! Service 5*: I walked in, and was greeted with a very nice "Good Morning Ma'am" from the lady behind the counter. She asked me what would I like for breakfast. I told her it was my first time here, and could she recommend something I should try......and then I saw it....a HUGE bacon egg and cheese croissant breakfast sammich, waiting for me to choose it. Food 5*: She saw me staring at the sammich and asked me if I would like to try that....uh heck yeah I do!!(lol) It looked and was very fresh. She popped that joker in the microwave for a hot 30 seconds and it was all mine. It was packed with bacon, 2 well done fried eggs(just how I like em) and american cheese, all inside a buttery croissant. Building 5*: Its a mom n pop type of shop. Small but with plenty of room. Good parking spaces outside and a few tables n chairs for seating inside. I completely forgot to try a donut because I couldn't take my mind off that sandwich.(SMH) Ive been passing by this place for 4 years going to and from work. I now have a place to stop on the way home in the mornings. read more
