I was here today with my cranky hangry pre teen. The place was packed. If that is any indication…read morethat the food is good, I don't know what is. I order the father Danny which is their meatball sub. Was informed it was 30 minutes. Fine. 40 minutes later my pre teen is getting antsy. Then I'm informed just a little while longer. Meanwhile I'm witnessing the chef walk out the door, go down the street, and return with fresh broccoli rabe from one of the vendors. Now I'm considering walking out. And then the sandwich arrives. It is a glorious sandwich with perfect textured meatballs, a tangy red sauce, ricotta and mozzarella and pesto. My son's rage vanished immediately. This is the best hands down meatball sandwich I ever had. Everything was on point. Meatball itself was not mealy or super dense, just the perfect bite. One sandwich at $16 was massive enough to where the both of us had to take home leftovers (which we are eating right now). Point being is that the sandwiches are to die for. Certain sandwiches take longer to make. This one took a long time but boy! What a sandwich! This place is a gem.

I was blown away by the flavor on all the items we got but I will say Gustaio (which was kindly recommended to me by another restaurant patron) took the top spot for me. It's by far the best sandwich I've ever had! Can't wait to return. :)

I wandered into this small Italian deli/specialty shop the other day not aware of anything about…read morethis place . And to say I was impressed was an understatement ! The chicken cutlet sandwich and meatball sandwich (I don't eat meatballs from many places) I got were outstanding ! The cutlets were seasoned and cooked perfectly not too thick . And the meatballs were tender and absolutely delicious ! They use Sarcones bread which everyone knows is the best ! This place has some of the best sandwiches in the city !

Man, this address sure knows how to make some killer sandwiches! Back in the day, this used to be…read moreChickie's, and I had a hoagie here maybe 12 years ago which may have the single best sandwich I have ever had in my life. Fast forward 12 years, and now its Antonio's Deli...let me tell you something......still AMAZING! My Brother and I came here for a breakfast hoagie. We got an Olde Italian to split since we were going to Reading Terminal Market right after. How was the hoagie? Delicious! The Olde Italian comes on the best bread in the land IMO (Sarcones...seeded roll...you just cant beat it!). So crusty and great texture. This sandwich had all the goodies on it including proscuitto, capicola and sopressata. They use a crumbled sharp provolone cheese here (think blue cheese crumbles, but sharp provolone!) that is so freaking good! The veggies include roasted red peppers, lettuce tomato and onion. They top it with some olive oil and seasonings. Hoagie perfection! This was my favorite sandwich that I ate in Philadelphia and my favorite sandwich on my 1 week trip back East! I LOVED IT. If you are in Philadelphia and want the best hoagie around, come here! I can't wait to go back to Philadelphia one of these years and try out some more of their sandwiches. Just perfect! Thanks, Antonio's!

I recently had a couple of great lunches here. I found parking along Wolf Street with no problem…read more The inside was clean and the staff was friendly. They serve you fresh waster (Drinks to order include Hanks, Boylan's, Harney and Sons, Teas etc.) and will serve you at the table or you can walk up and order at the counter. Their menu has a great mix of deli, steak, "chicken" steak, meatball, sausage and cutlet sandwiches with interesting flavor combos. You can also get breakfast (till 11AM) or a salad. They also have sides that include - tots, fried pickle chips, onion rings, fries, fried mozzarella and Zayda's pickle spears, chips and cherry pepper shooters. They have a couple of vegan options and GF rolls for extra $$. The staff was more than happy to give recommendations and their favs. My first lunch was The Eye - $15 Ribeye steak, Cooper Sharp American, fried onions came on a seeded Liscio's roll. If you enjoy the somewhat newer Cooper sharp style that's out there you'll like theirs. The Cooper sharp was gooey, mixed in well with the meat and on the heavier side. The ribeye was thin cut, delicious and the portion was pretty hefty. Second visit I went with - The Nad - $15 Chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, Mike's Hot Honey that came on an unseeded Liscio's roll. The portion size was good, chicken was fresh with good breading, the hot honey was a tad on the heavy side, but the flavors all came together pretty good on this one. Sweet, salty, light bitterness from the arugula and some heat from the hot honey. I added Thin Cut Idaho fries to make it a combo for $3 extra and I have to say they were delicious. They smelled like McD's and tasted similar. They are cash only, but have an ATM on site. You can use a card if you order online. The one bathroom they have was pretty clean and organized. I will certainly stop back for a visit if I'm in the area to try out more of their menu. Thanks guys!
