One of my best friends and I met up here a few days ago and it's got a warm ambiance mixed with a sports bar feel & a family-friendly atmosphere. I thought the fried ravioli was good. The marinara sauce to dip them in was good too, but we preferred ranch. My best friend ordered barbecue classic wings; if the classic wings were coated just a couple of times with our choice of sauce (as in if the wings were not too drenched in sauce) it would have been perfect. Frends is a pretty cool bar/pub for a drink after work. Not sure about the name...is that a last name? It certainly isn't "Friends". I love local beers and Frends has three available...an IPA, an Amber, and a Pilsner. I tried a sample of the IPA and wow that was way too fruity for my likes. The Amber was really good and $5/pint for Happy Hour is reasonable. Apparently their in-house beers are brewed in Davis. I didn't try any appetizers or grub but it looked good from what I saw. Will try next time. They have a friendly (Frendly?) staff, clean restrooms, and patio seating (where you can smoke if you're away from the door...no ashtrays). I like it! read more

Great selections of food! We love coming here for lunch! Their pizzas are always good but my most favorite here is the bow tie Gorgonzola pasta!!! Super creamy and delicious! Their steak salad and their buffalo chicken salad is also my go to!! They have daily specials (I believe kids eat free on Tuesdays!) and this is also a wonderful place to go and watch a sports game! Went here for a work team building during their Happy Hour, which is during weekdays 2 pm -5 pm. The restaurant was empty when we were here due to it being middle of the day during a Tuesday. I enjoyed all the appetizers we got from the HH menu and there was a good variety. I liked the knots, the wings and the fried ravioli. Great food for cheap and it fed all of us (6 of us). Service was great as well. Our waitress checked up on us a few times and was not overbearing. All our needs were met with a smile. The restaurant itself has lots of seating and we never felt rushed. They also have a bar area and seating with TVs for watching games. There are booths and tables and everything felt nice. Lots of lighting as well. Parking is street metered parking unless you want to park at City Hall Garage or the Library Garage. Overall, we left satisfied and will be back. read more

Frends Brewhouse has been a favorite among me and my coworkers for lunch, especially for their lunch deals! I normally order pizza, but this time, I decided to order the Spaghetti lunch special, which was just $11! WHAT A STEAL! The portion size was huge and came with 2 garlic cheesy breads as well which were delicious. Their service is always great. At first I thought this was a Pete's pizza because the sign looked similar but this restaurant has a much more extensive menu. It is located downtown kitty corner from Caesar Chavez park. You order and pay at the counter and food comes to you at your table. I ordered the Philly Cheese with steak. The meat was very tender and is filet mignon per the menu. The portions are generous and I could have easily shared my meal with someone as I was here for lunch and it came with a side...I chose fries. Fries were perfect, hot and crispy on the outside and well-seasoned. I didn't even need ketchup. The sandwich was also good and included bacon, which I am not used to in a Philly sandwich. I would have been okay without the bacon. Meat was tender. There was too much bread...it was too thick/dense. I ended taking the top off. Otherwise taste was good. read more

I settled for the clam chowder after she hyped it up, but it was served in a flimsy plastic to-go container. Who serves boiling hot soup in plastic? Not only does it ruin the experience, it makes you question how seriously they take food quality. On top of that, there was a Blue Lives Matter flag hanging inside. Came here as part of a party. The restaurant did a great job of setting up the tables and having the food prepared on time. The pizzas were good & so was the appetizer platter. I'd love to give this place a higher rating but when the waitress came by to give our drinks...I was missed. So I waited a bit to see if she would come back around, but she didn't. So I approached her as she happened to be at the drink area, and I asked her for a water. She replied "yea we will bring it to you". I'm not sure why she didn't just give me one while I was there, she was right in front of the water and soda fountain. I returned back to my seat & waited. But she never came around. We came here on Saturday for a quick bite and met up with some friends. 100+ degree weather they didn't have ac on it was burning hot in there. They did have hh when the nba game was on so that was nice. We ordered buffalo wings, nachos and drinks. The nachos. Horrible sad basic needs help. It looked like my 10 year old made it. This brewhouse not only has a full tavern but also seemed to have the usual brewhouse food. I dare say though that their specialty are pizzas. We started with the garlic and cheese bites. These appetizers were very tasty and will always be my future recommendation. The Tandoori pizza was tremendously delicious and spicy while the BBQ Chicken pizza was found to be equally good. There are many different styles of pizzas and many different companies all trying to be the best in their cities. Anyone can put toppings on bread and call it a pizza but to be considered one of the best, it comes down to the quality of the crust. This eateries pizzas have one of the best crusts I have ever tasted with a pizza. Unlike many other pizza companies, I wanted to continue eating their pizza because of their crust. I'm updating my review to say I LOVE that the waitress offered ranch or ketchup since many many places charge extra for ranch. Definitely one of my favorite places now just cause of that! Tried a deluxe chicken sandwich today which includes a ofside of fries. Sandwich has tomato, lettuce, cheddar cheese, bbq sauce, bacon, onion strings. I do wish it was more of a chicken patty and not chicken strips. The fries are super good! We love Pete's restaurants and have been too many locations. We wanted to love this place also but we were a little disappointed in the food. I ordered a personal pizza lunch, which came with a pizza and a drink. My pizza was good except I was not happy with the sauce. It was a little thin and runny, my husband had a mushroom burger which I thought was going to be the bomb and although it looked delicious, it didn't have much taste and the fries were OK. The service was great. We had a coupon that had to be processed a certain way and the cashier was having difficulty but she let us sit down eat her lunch and wait for the manager to come in and they fix the problem right away. I got the wrong beer and when I told the manager(lady at the registry) about the beer she got in my face with an attitude and told me that's not the beer you ordered and went off saying she would print the receipt. I tried to explain to her maybe it was a misunderstanding but she refused to listen saying the beer was non refundable because it was already pour in which I explain to her I wasn't going to drink it because is not what I wanted. In a very rude manner she took the beer and brought back the beer I had ordered with the receipt.
