8/2/25 Wow I'm behind. Lets get into it We had a group of about 40 people who came to enjoy some time together all friends/Family Plenty of seating nice big open long tables. We truly ordered so much pizza I think at one point they had to turn down a few people just so they could keep up with us . They did an amazing job with the amount of people. Pizza was really good (Didn't get pic) shame. Few beers on tap and had a salad bar as well . Service was excellent and pretty fast with the amount of of people. We enjoyed our pizza and tried a few others all were really good. Fun spot to take the family. We all really enjoyed our time. Definitely would go back Enjoy !!!!

Visited october 9th while staying in old Sacramento. They open at 11am and have lunch specials until 2pm. My friend bought the one topping pizza with a soft drink and one trip salad bar ( 15 bucks). If you just want the salad bar it's 10 bucks and they have an expansive salad bar! We shared the pepperoni pizza in the hotel room and I like that the crust was a bit crunchy! Salad was good and fresh! They are located on the corner ( across from Finnegans) and have indoor and outside seating. Beer available. Clean inside!

Frankie's Pizza, conveniently located in Old Town Sacramento, is quick, cheap, and reliable. The only downside is that the pizzas themselves have an average crust... they're not New York, Sicilian, or Chicago style.

This establishment is very open and spacious big windows with lots of light family friendly, television screens on most of the walls i caught the mavericks game while i was enjoying my meal. Was helped by Jr super friendly guy i couldn't decide which pizza to choose they all sounded great but Jr helped me make the right selection. I had garlic bread and a personal pizza with sausage pepperoni bell peppers and olives was crunchy and delicious loved every bite will come back for sure.

Perfect place to grab a bite before going to an A's game at Sutter Park! Frankie's Pizza is in a prime location at Old Town Sac. You have the option to dine inside or on the patio. It was a nice day out so we dined in the patio. It was a busy Saturday with a lot of foot and vehicle traffic. We ordered Frankie's Combo, Medium size, Buffalo Mild wings (waiter's recommendation), and garlic tots for appetizers. My review: Garlic Tots: 4/5 (Can't go wrong with crispy tots and garlic on it. Some seasoning would make it 5/5) Buffalo Mild Wings: 5/5 (Fried well and crispy. Wings weren't dripping with sauce which we liked) Frankie's Combo Pizza: 4/5 (The usual combo pizza. It was good because it had a thin crispy crust but the cheese and toppings were fluffy and abundant) Overall, good experience and recommend if you're in the area. 4/5 stars because someone loitering stood and watched us eat. However, the staff was good about letting the owner know which he came out and spoke to the person. The person eventually left.

Frankies has some of the best Hawaiian pizza in town, and their wings are really good too. You have the option to get a lunch special with the salad bar included, they serve beer too! the two ladies are very welcoming and friendly. No waiting time to be seated and very quiet atmosphere, perfect for friends reunion.

This was a nice lunch spot for us after a morning exploring Old Sacramento. Typical pizza place vibe, casual, and it wasn't too busy on a Saturday lunch. We got a pizza to share and it was enough for the three of us (2 adults, 1 kid). Crust was nice and fluffy/chewy, and decent amount of toppings. Solid pizza place.

Visited Frankie's for the first time since the Yelp reviews were pretty good! We ordered an XL Pepperoni Pizza, garlic parmesean and buffalo wings, fried pickles and mozzarella sticks. The food was really delicious except for the mozzarella sticks. They were a bit frozen and didn't want to send them back since our server seemed a little frazzled as it was a busy Saturday night, but we ended up reheating them at home and they were really good! Also, love the atmosphere of Frankie's. It's in Old Town Sacramento and the interior has lots of televisions with a variety of sports to watch. They also had good options for beer too! Finally, I do want to emphasize their pizza was top notch and I think one of the best in Sacramento that I've tasted. Will definitely come back to try other menu items.

Adequate pizza for the extremely hungry
    Michael S.

The staff are exceedingly friendly, and the decor and ambiançe are of a generic pizza parlor/bar that exists in every town near and far. The pepperoni pizza I tried this night looks like New York-style pizza but the red sauce is disturbingly sweet and the pepperoni slices are thinner than expected and deliver far less taste and punch. If you're in the target demographic of hungry tourists that have walked too far around Old Sacramento, his pizza will satisfy you. If you actually care about pizza, it probably won't.

Came in with some friends after a convention downtown. I did not see any gluten-free options, so I opted for the salad bar. It was decent, not many places have a salad bar anymore. The pizzas looked and smelled good, others said they enjoyed it.

(+) The food is delicious! We ordered two personal pizzas, fried chicken wings and cheese sticks. Would definitely return again. (-) There is no table service and that shows. I wondered if anyone was going to clean the tables, but I did not see anyone come.

half frankie's veggie + half hawaiian
    Ivy N.

tasty pizza! the white sauce with veggies was a good combo and the hawaiian pizza was good. nothing crazy to write home about but it was solid. we got the family size for $33 which was enough for 5 people and had leftovers so it was a pretty good deal. service was spotty tho bc they kept forgetting our items. inside has plenty of wood tables and seating and it's in old sac so paid parking only.

3.5/5.0 Stars. This is a large restaurant and this Saturday afternoon there are four customers here. The personal pan cheese pizza has non-stringy cheese and tastes good. They offer a salad bar. I might come again if downtown.

I came to visit my friends and we went to a brewery to catch up. My friend just bought a house and was moving, as well as having her birthday, so her ID was expired which we were not aware of. It happens. My friend was going to log into DMV just so she can show a valid ID the bartender but another woman working came up exclaiming they can not accept that and she will not get a drink. My friend did not argue about it and my other friend and I got our beers and sat down. We just wanted to spend time and catch up. My friend with the expired ID did not even take a sip of any drinks and respected the policy, the woman that we talked to earlier about the ids then proceeded to come up to us and say that we were sharing drinks, yelling and being very hostile. We were all confused because in no way, my friend even touched or drank any of the drinks. She insisted to call the cops. We then asked her if she had any evidence such as video footage and she said she did not have any access to that and she did not have footage. She said we were breaking the law and she will get the police involved for underage drinking. She was being extremely hostile. THANK YOU BY THE WAY SHE IS IN HER 30s BUT BESIDE THE POINT THEY REFUSED TO PULL UP THE FOOTAGE AND CORNERED US WHEN WE WERE DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. We even encouraged to call the police then she started back tracking. Their lead came in. We again, asked for the footage and he then, unrelated, said they are on the verge of closing rather than taking any form of accountability or apologizing for how his colleague was treating us. We asked for a refund and would leave, we were so uncomfortable. He then proceeded to say we did not pay for the drinks and I had to pull up my credit card statement to even prove it, which is absolutely ridiculous. I got our drinks and paid/ closed the tab before even sitting down. We asked to talk to a manager again. Mind you, we asked previously, and got the lead. The manager just asked if we were from the Bay and shook our hands instead of actually doing anything about the situation. I saw her hug the woman that was accusing after we were leaving which is absolutely ridiculous. Why would you encourage that type of behavior to your staff. Profiling in 2025 is insane. I feel bad for my friends. I feel extremely uncomfortable. Discriminating and accusing just because we are the only POCs in the room is so embarrassing. DO BETTER- NOT EVEN AS AN ESTABLISHMENT BUT JUST AS HUMAN BEINGS.

I wanted to love this place but the plant-based options were limited to bar snacks: cauliflower bites, fries, hummus, a single salad, and mac and cheese. What's frustrating isn't just the selection, but the missed potential. Not one veggie sandwich option. The stuffed peppers could easily have a meatless version; the Brussels sprouts didn't need bacon; the farmers market salad could offer prosciutto as an add-on rather than a default. Small tweaks, big difference. A little more intentionality here would go a long way. On the bright side, the bourbon flights are a real highlight, and the space itself is a win - open, airy, and flooded with natural light, making it perfect for happy hour. The gastro pub vibe is genuinely cool, and you can tell this place has a lot of potential. Meat eaters and whiskey fans will love it here. Vegetarians, though, will find themselves grazing on sides and calling it a meal. If you're plant-based, my advice: grab dinner somewhere else first, then come here for the cocktails - because those, at least, won't disappoint.

This particular visit was on a Tuesday and they have a great pint beer special on Mondays and Tuesdays with $5 select pints all day. On this day we decided to go with Weird is the new Normal-a West Coast IPA($5.00) & a Luna De Miel-a Mexican Amber($5.00). Both beers were very refreshing and went down super easy and I've added both to my "will order again " list. For food I ended up ordering Brisket Tacos ($14.00) off the appetizer list and a Pulled Pork Sandwich($17.00) off the sandwich list. I upgraded my fries to Garlic Fries for an additional fee-I think $1 but not sure as I was being treated that day. This is the kid of place where u walk up to counter and place an order for your beer and food then they give u a number and will bring your grub out to ya at whatever table u can find. They have both indoor and outside seating-I prefer outside seating this time of year. Food was delivered very fast-in under 10 minutes. Brisket Tacos were super simple but still wonderful -really soft tortilla with a nice chew and flavor topped with their famous juicy tender perfectly flavored brisket with onions and cilantro as a topper-they are excellent because of the quality of the brisket. 8.8/10 Pulled Pork Sandwich was the item that stood out that day-pulled pork was smoked perfectly and smothered with a perfect amount of their BBQ sauce and one of their famous onion rings is in the sandwich also topped with BBQ sauce. The bun they use was so soft and meshed perfectly with the soft tasty bite of the pulled pork. 9.4/10 I really do love all of my visits to Urban Roots as every visit has been positive-I've recommended this place to many of my friends who visit from out of town for a high quality yet casual dining experience & if that isn't enough of a recommendation, the day I visited was my actual birthday and this was the place I choose to celebrate-I love this place that much.

The pork is really tasty! The nachos are good but maybe less cheese sauce. He got the BBQ burger which he really liked, and the fries are delicious Love the huge front patio and there's plenty of room inside to sit, including a back room. Everyone that works here is always positive and nice. I've never had bad service
