There is a variety of climbing and sliding equipment; there are swings, a sandbox and plenty of green space to run around and be a kid.

Dennison is a large lottery only Jeffco elementary school. It has a very diverse and inclusive population of students and families who attend and to me, this is one reason I think the school is exceptional. Dedicated teachers lead rigorous whole group classes to fully prepare students for junior high, high school, college and beyond. All children are held to the same educational and behavioral expectations. The students learn respect for others, accountability for learning and gain confidence in themselves and their abilities. The staff is hard-working, very dedicated and cares deeply about protecting the learning environment for students. If you are considering Dennison, take a tour. You'll notice the students are respectful, quite when walking through the halls and if you look into each classroom you will find children engaged and learning. The children utilize text books and can be observed reading, writing and taking many tests. Dennison is continually the highest ranked elementary school in Jeffco because the educational and behavioral model works. Wish more schools would follow Dennison's model to give more students this type of unique learning environment.

The staff is extremely friendly, teachers are very hands on and they are currently operating with an app called Class Dojo that lets you see pics of your kids throughout the day, get reports on their behavior, and can message the teachers all in one place. When it comes to Elementary schools, this one takes 1st place. It really is an amazing school the proof is in the reports. A+ on my list!

The teachers are excellent, compassionate, care about every one of their students and give their all to the kids. Our son's teacher used to teach at a Gifted and Talented school but she chose to come to Welchester this year and was absolutely amazing for her class. Not only did her class raise their test scores but they worked on STEM activities during class and raised money for a Friendship Bench for the school. My daughter's teacher was similarly excellent in the way she interacted with the students and they all adored her. The principal is exactly the type of principal you long for a school to have: Involved, knows every kid by name, will sit down to talk with a troubled child and get down on their level, and is not afraid to step into a difficult situation if necessary. She is fabulous and sets the tone for the entire school. As parents, my husband and I are thrilled to be a part of this school community and we totally recommend it.

This school has been around for along time in Arvada. My older brothers went to this school and a…read morecouple of the teachers also went here. They are the Hackberry Hill Hawks. They have a great playground,nice gym, there own caffeteria with fresh cooked food everyday. Hackberry has a nice library with a great librarian. They also have one of the best music programs in the state. The principal is awesome and all the staff are great.They also have some of the highest scores in the state. It took two years for my kids to get in but was worth the wait. I volunteer as a crossing guard three days a week and spend lots of time in the class room. If you live in arvada/westy area and looking for a school definetlly check out Hackberry. The only down fall is they have Half day kindergarden but just as effective as allday kindergarten.

I've had multiple meetings with the principal/teacher and even spoke with the superintendent but nothing has changed. She has been physically assaulted by a boy multiple times and we had a problem with other girls pulling at her clothing/jewelry to the point of damaging clothes and ripping a necklace off of her body. She did defend herself once but received an in school suspension for doing so. The last time I spoke to the principal he said my child was lying. I have personally watched the bullying happen and it makes me sick. I cannot believe this staff is letting my little girl continue to be bullied like this! Do not send your children here if you hope to have your children protected, this staff will not provide safety from other students.
