By then, most high-risk folks will have been vaccinated. But, CA continues to put the needs of others over the social and emotional wellbeing of their students. There's talk that the kids will be able to "vaccinate their way out of wearing masks and social distancing in the fall." Some parents are not interested in this possibility until more information about vaccinating younger people becomes known. If you don't want to vaccinate your younger students, I'd look into another school.

The teachers tend to be republican along with many of the students however very few teachers make their views known to students besides the occasional slip up. The teachers for 7th and 8th are not the best but after that it tends to get better. One problem some might have is the closed campus. While there being a closed campus on its own is not bad the food there isn't good at all. Your only option to get a good meal is to make your own lunch and bring it to school but that isn't always an option. Also if you want to be able to spend time with your child then don't send them to develyn as the work load is over the top with the principal saying that 3 hours of homework should be the norm. Overall, if your child does not cope with stress well do not send them here. In the end I don't think that this school is right for most people.

They race their cars up and down Dartmouth with very little concern of getting in trouble. They drag race through the neighborhoods with cars that are so loud they rattle windows. They leave trash and "shooter" booze bottles on the sidewalks and in yards. The cut across corner lot homes with zero respect for lawns and personal property. They run around on very loud miniature motorcycles in small packs and harass people on the "no motorized vehicle" walking paths. All in all, sharing a neighborhood with a Denver Public High School is very problematic. Plus, it's an eyesore that looks like a prison.

They talk non-stop about how grateful they are for this school and how transformative it has been for their child. Their child did not like school and did not play with other kids their age - they were timid and frightened. Now their child loves school and is a social butterfly - finding friends in their age group and beyond. There child has complained that they don't want the school year to end because they want to keep going to Havern every day. We are supporters of the school because the love and dedication given to each child is who attends is easy to see. If a child is having challenges, they respond right away by trying different teaching modalities or a different teacher until they find the right fit for that child. I've never seen that kind of responsiveness from a school. Do not let the lack of reviews here fool you - there is a reason families move from other states, cross country, or drive over an hour each way to go to Havern. I think most families, like our friends, are private and want to protect their child's privacy, which is why there are so few reviews here.

That is fine, I understand that is the case sometimes, but children should not be referred to as "burdens" or "inconveniences". All children should feel loved and supported regardless of where they are in their academic journey. Private schools need to remember that private education is a two way street. We are evaluating you just as much as you are evaluating families. Based on multiple interactions with admissions, I would not enroll my children at this school. She always answers the phone with a rude tone, and never seems to be happy to assist parents and students with their needs. Not once, have I ever been satisfied when directed to her for help. I am furious that the rest of the Bear Creek High School Admin would allow her to continue to greeting parents like this, However it leads me to think; Is the rest of the staff this ill- mannered and dense?
