Dennison is a large lottery only Jeffco elementary school. It has a very diverse and inclusive population of students and families who attend and to me, this is one reason I think the school is exceptional. Dedicated teachers lead rigorous whole group classes to fully prepare students for junior high, high school, college and beyond. All children are held to the same educational and behavioral expectations. The students learn respect for others, accountability for learning and gain confidence in themselves and their abilities. The staff is hard-working, very dedicated and cares deeply about protecting the learning environment for students. If you are considering Dennison, take a tour. You'll notice the students are respectful, quite when walking through the halls and if you look into each classroom you will find children engaged and learning. The children utilize text books and can be observed reading, writing and taking many tests. Dennison is continually the highest ranked elementary school in Jeffco because the educational and behavioral model works. Wish more schools would follow Dennison's model to give more students this type of unique learning environment.

They have a great playground,nice gym, there own caffeteria with fresh cooked food everyday. Hackberry has a nice library with a great librarian. They also have one of the best music programs in the state. The principal is awesome and all the staff are great.They also have some of the highest scores in the state. It took two years for my kids to get in but was worth the wait. I volunteer as a crossing guard three days a week and spend lots of time in the class room. If you live in arvada/westy area and looking for a school definetlly check out Hackberry. The only down fall is they have Half day kindergarden but just as effective as allday kindergarten.

I've had multiple meetings with the principal/teacher and even spoke with the superintendent but nothing has changed. She has been physically assaulted by a boy multiple times and we had a problem with other girls pulling at her clothing/jewelry to the point of damaging clothes and ripping a necklace off of her body. She did defend herself once but received an in school suspension for doing so. The last time I spoke to the principal he said my child was lying. I have personally watched the bullying happen and it makes me sick. I cannot believe this staff is letting my little girl continue to be bullied like this! Do not send your children here if you hope to have your children protected, this staff will not provide safety from other students.

We took her in for a free assessment and she was well below grade level which we suspected, but they have quickly gotten her back up to speed by going back and making sure she had the fundamentals down and building from there. They have made math fun for her, and most importantly have boosted her confidence. Now she is breezing through her math problems on her homework. Can't recommend Mathnasium enough!

Awest has people from all ethnic backgrounds. Awest also has an excellent music program there which is very successful since the music teacher Mr. Manu has gotten into the Jeffco awards to actually go to the Grammy's. Arvada West is also dedicated to making sure that kids Graduate and not drop out. They are very on top of kids grades and actually helps them especially if they are on an IEP like I am. The staff makes sure that kids get the kind of help that they need and provide awesome opportunities to do so. I have struggled my entire life in school, and then when I came to Arvada West as an incoming Freshman, I didn't struggle as much especially in math. We also have an excellent program there called the "Sparkles", and it's an amazing program for students with special needs. The Sparkles go on Field trips I believe every week and the whole student body is totally 100% supportive of them! This school is worth it, even though Awest has some bad reputations it is a good school! GO CATS!

We are so sad to be leaving Goddard after 1.5 years in Pre-K 2. Our daughter has moved onto…read moreKindergarten and had the best time at Goddard School of Arvada (Ward Road). After staying home with me for 4 years, she was going to start daycare/Pre-School. It was stressful at the time finding a place that would "replace" being with me all day. Thankfully we found Goddard! The tour of the school showed us how clean, safe and friendly the establishment was. Gary was great from the get-go! All the front staff are so friendly and helpful! They follow proper protocols to ensure all the children are safe and well taken care of. Dan, the owner, has been the very best! He is so friendly to everyone; all the kids, parents, grandparents, care-takers - and you can tell he really cares! Our daughter was only in Pre-K 2, so I'm not sure how the younger classes are. However, just peeping at the windows and the overall feel of the place - I think they are very having just as much fun as the big kids. Pre-K 2 was such a great learning experience for our daughter. She needs more of a structured learning environment and that was provided for her while maintaining the fun and enjoyment of being a kid. She didn't get sick too often - they clean the toys very well with their fancy technology that I can't even properly explain here haha. Her teachers kept us updated often about her day, glows and grows, and overall wellbeing. They took the time to really get to know her as an individual. They also have other teachers help out in classrooms either towards the end of the day when numbers are going down while kids are leaving, or for teacher lunches/bathroom breaks. So, our daughter knew a lot of the teachers at Goddard. She'd go around saying 'hi' everyone! It was great how helpful all the teachers are, not just in their classroom but for the whole daycare itself. Our daughter really enjoyed Dan and Gary a lot! She was very excited to start kindergarten but on the last day of Goddard she kept saying, I'm going to miss my teachers, Mr. Dan and Gary (sorry Gary, she still can't get the Mr. Gary part hahaha)! You can genuinely tell when a kid is happy or sad about a place and I know our daughter loved it here, felt safe and seen at Goddard Arvada (Ward Road). Thank you all so much for taking care of our daughter while she was there! If you get a chance to tour the place or a chance to join the waitlist - we highly recommend it!

We have had the most positive experience and would highly recommend for any parent looking for a wonderful, loving preschool. The teachers are fantastic, the classroom and play ground are magical and so thoughtfully designed, the activities are very intentional and use high quality supplies/ingredients, the snacks they feed the children are healthy and delicious. Our boys have loved their time at Parzival. There isn't another place we could have imagined sending them in these precious, foundational years.

The curriculum is fantastic ~ loads of time outdoors, a great balance of unstructured play and more focused activities, complete with a solid, child centered focus on child development. The teachers and staff are committed, loving and supportive (for both the kids and parents). The parent body is great and has proven to be a nice community to get involved in. All in all, we'll be sad when our time at this great little school must end, but are excited that Parzival has offered such a great foundation for her to take the next step in her schooling.
