Our photographer Chris Gray (PBP shooter,) and Frederick Films utilized this beautiful venue for our family photo session. The venue is very beautiful, and clean. I really appreciate the natural and variety of lighting hues the venue offers. The windows have rustic wooden framing and slightly stained glass windows allowing for a perfect backdrop. As you enter the building it is filled with information about local performing artists which was nice to see it's a place that supports local artists share their craft. If you're seeking a venue for a small-mid size crowd (when it's safe to do so,) Fremont Abbey could be a great location.

Looooove seeing concerts here as well as The Moth and comedy. Most shows have seating and start early too which is amazing now days compared to the rowdy clubs and constant "phone in face" syndrome of larger concerts. Great acoustics, really good variety of diverse music acts (not just folk!) and usually there's a bar with a bunch of good options. The bar sales even go to support local charities, but the Abbey itself is a nonprofit! amazing Fremont Abbey is also known for hosting big name artists and touring acts playing small shows like Damien Jurado, Joseph, Grace Love, Birds of Chicago, Doug from Built to Spill, Bob Odenkirk comedy, etc. definitely check out The Round on 2nd Tuesdays or The Moth storytelling event on 1st Thursdays... those are neighbor favorites.

We had our Wedding here in December, and of all the venues we visited, the Abbey was truly the best. From the start, it was great to know the venue was not profit driven. There were hardly any add ons, and the rates and terms were very reasonable. The space has just enough character to be interesting, but blank-slate enough to add your own style. The staff was easy to work with, and I'd certainly recommend it!

I haven't really tried parking at the venue, instead opting to walk half a mile from the nearest Amazon garage (and since I was coming on weekends/ weekdays after hours, it's free!), but there is a paid garage that's pretty close by. Personally haven't really used the concessions stand (and find it expensive like most of these kinds of places), but I did notice they were kind of long :) They also sell merch! to support the Seattle Rep. I've sat in the far back corners (cheaper/est seats) and the show was still enjoyable! In case you wanted to visit but was worried about nosebleeds, the balcony seats really aren't bad at all. I watched The Play That Went Wrong and I have to admit that the balcony/far seats had a much better view of the whole stage and could capture more of the silly side stuff than when I watched it on the ground floor at a closer seat.

The venue was super clean, loved the bar and snack area with lots of seating. Bathrooms were well maintained and lots of staff around to help and answer any questions. The show we saw was very good. The cast were so talented and to be honest I'm not a huge play person but I really enjoyed this show! Would love to come back and see what else they have.

I was able to find free street parking up the street not too far away from the venue. However depending on what time you go there might only be a limit of 2 hours (it's 2 hour parking from 8am-8pm). This is a small theater so you're very close to the stage and it's very intimate. Whether you're VIP in the front row or not you'll still be able to have a good view. There is a bar right next to the seats and the stage so it's easy access to order drinks. They also do stand up shows and improv classes which sound really fun so I'll have to keep an eye out for future shows.

While we waited for the doors to open, we grabbed drinks at the waiting area bar and looked at the art. When we were let inside, we quickly found a place to sit since all seats had good visibility to the stage. There is a large bar inside with a large chalk board menu of their options. Beer, cider, and wine is $5-6 with pretty average options but enough to satisfy a thirst during a show. I liked how intimate the location was and easy it was for the audience to be engaged. They do many stand up shows and classes here, so I would love to go back for a stand up show! Parking: street parking is the main option around this area. There are some paid lots too

A Very Die Hard Christmas -- Seattle Public Theater…read more For 33 straight years, my sister (WCP) and I have watched Die Hard and Die Hard 2 every December. A few years ago, a friend introduced me to this parody play -- and now it's officially part of my holiday tradition. I come back year-over-year because each production is different, clever, and full of new surprises. This year's version was one of the best yet: Upgraded set pieces, including a tall wall with TWO vents and working doors Smartly updated jokes and swapped-out 80s references Fresh additions to the villain list (shoutout to Huey Lewis & The News and Vidal Sassoon) And a perfect recreation of the iconic vent scene where McClane mutters: "Come out to the coast, we'll get together, have a few laughs..." followed by "Now I know what a TV dinner feels like." This was my 3rd time, my friend Mary R's "don't ask how many," and my sister's very first time. The show was hilarious and high-energy -- but honestly, the best part was watching WCP react to it for the first time. Pure holiday magic. Seattle Public Theater nails the humor, nostalgia, and chaotic joy of Die Hard while giving audiences something new every December. If you love the movie, love parody, or just want a holiday show that's totally different from the usual lineup, go see this. Highly recommended. Yippee-Ki-Yay, Seattle.

But we were lucky to find it having dates this year and Steve seized the opportunity right away as far as tickets go. The Seattle Public Theater is a pretty small theater and lobby but the setting for it is great as all the shows would be intimate and the fact that the theater is right by Green Lake adds a scenic perk to the experience. The show was great and really funny! Very well organized and acted and it proved to be a very entertaining night for our first visit to Seattle Public Theater!
