Sometimes trees get too big for the spo,t or too old, or a weather event battles them. FMI is the regional source for professional arborists and you can shop there too. It is a level up from the hardware store for clippers, saws, and some yard maintenance tools. They are the source for the awesome Hasagawa three leg orchard ladders. They are made in Japan with the most beautiful welds. They are aluminum - very lightweight to carry. They are beautiful. They do have the expensive, lifetime guaranteed, Felco pruners from Switzerland. If you climb rocks for fun - think Smith Rock - they have a larger selection of climbing ropes, ascenders, descenders, and harnesses than any local outdoor store. Petzl is their main brand. They also have arborist belts from Buckingham. If you need long rope, they can provide it up to 600 feet. They have a huge indoor warehouse by their showroom. They have a large lot filled with machinery. If you were a landscaping company or a tree service company they have machines for you to buy. They have grinders, skids, lift trucks and more. The staff is knowledgeable but they are used to dealing with professionals, not so much homeowners.

If I could give zero stars I would. It took me a very long time to post this review because I was…read moreso angry and because I have never posted a yelp review in my life. But the dishonesty and way that Josh took advantage of someone who didn't know about vehicles is the reason mechanics get a bad name. My experience deserves a review. I Got a quote for a new water pump. Dropped off the car. "It will be ready by Friday" wasn't "ready" till days later Went to pick it up and it's parked out front with the hood open (to show that work had been done? ) I paid the guy Drove my car home Still making the same noise! What the heck? Call up Powerhaus. Takes me another couple days to get ahold of someone. I bring the car back. "Oh that's something else, not your water pump, your water pump is brand new" well... how much? Another $600 to fix that part. Ok, I'll make an apt. Called back several times to make the apt to "fix this new problem" no answer. Left several messages. No response. I Finally decide to take it to another mechanic. The other mechanic pops open the hood, shines a flashlight on the water pump and shows me how it is VERY obvious that the water pump NEVER GOT REPLACED. This nice mechanic who remains anonymous explained it still had the Toyota symbol and was clearly rusty and old (which I could see with my own eyes as he pointed it out to me) He explained if it was a new water pump it would be shiny silver, not old rust. I Took it back to power haus (seeing red the whole time) where Josh proceeds to argue with me but eventually says he will fix it. He gets my car in and then replaced the water pump, it's ready for pick up 4 days later. Upon pick up I said "I know that you didn't replace it the first time" he said "well it's working now right?" Seriously?!? On top of all of this, before I took my car in the first time I told him my 17 year old daughter was planning to drive it down to San Diego, and I wanted to make sure the car was in good order. With that knowledge, he still let me drive off without fixing the problem (And paying for it) knowing my daughter would probably end up stranded on the freeway if she drove that car down to California. Don't trust this guy. He lies and takes advantage of people who don't know about vehicles.

A+ rating from us! Excellent service. It was a the Thursday…read morebefore Memorial Weekend, 2017. While traveling, Our Caterpillar diesel-driven motor home had issues near The Dalles, Oregon. The team at Peterson Cat in The Dalles inspected our engine. Brian arranged servicing for our motor home at Peterson Cat in Redmond, as we chose to continue on. Their service was excellent in The Dalles. Donny Darst, the service manager at Peterson Cat in Redmond ordered parts, set aside time for our appointment, 5 days in advance. Our mechanic was Tom. His knowledge and skills are exceptional. He determined that the suspected problem wasn't the culprit, and knew what the issue was. We have a 3116 engine, a 1992 model. Most work had to be done while laying down on one's stomach, & working forward & below. That was done for long periods of time. Other techs that assisted in the repair were top notch as well. We 'camped' there for 2 nights, as more parts needed to be ordered. The parts arrived promptly as promised. While staying there, water & power were supplied. Much appreciated! They covered our carpet & surrounding the work area. No mess at all. They were even mindful that we had our kitty cat in the motor home with us. All employees, both in shop and in office - were very nice & helpful. The motor home ran wonderfully on our drive home, all 307 miles of it. Our service experience was above and beyond good. We definitely recommend Peterson Cat in Redmond, Oregon to anyone in need.
