Purchased a Hammerhead Mudhead on December 22, 2015, from Freeway Powersports, 6020 Gateway E. Blvd, El Paso, Texas 79905, the Mudhead broke down on the first day of use. The Mudhead was returned on December 26, 2015 to Freeway Powersports. Freeway Powersports was not willing to honor the warranty and wanted me to pay the labor to repair the item. First, we were informed they had the item in stock and could replace it that day. Then we were informed they needed to contact the manufacture to cover the item. Lastly, we were informed by the General Manager, "this happens, belts break and they are not covered". The General Manager agreed to have his mechanic look into the cause of the problem and would contact me either Monday or Tuesday. After a long unsatisfactory roundabout with Mr. Seavey, we left the Mudhead and were told this could take 7-14 days to have the unit back. We contacted Freeway Powersports later on that Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 1:49 pm to inquire if the Mudhead had been inspected? The mechanic I spoke with stated "the mechanic working on it went to lunch, however, the clutch burned up and the belt obviously broke off". I received a second call on Saturday at 2:50 pm, from the mechanic working on the Mudhead and he stated (while on speaker phone with four others in the room) the clutch was burned and the belt needs to be replaced. On Monday, December 28, 2015, at 10:15 am, I received a call from Freeway Powersports stating Hammerhead was willing to replace the belt this one time and I needed to pay the labor fee of $49.50. After inquiring about the clutch being burned and replaced, now upon visual inspection nothing is wrong with the clutch. After speaking with a manufacture representative from Hammerhead I was informed the Mudhead is covered for 30 days to include parts and labor. The Hammerhead representative stated they can only go by what the dealer states is wrong with the product, since the product is not with them for inspection. However, he was unaware of a call from the dealership and would inquire with them to see the status of the Mudhead and why would their consumer be paying out-of-pocket for an item covered by them. Under good faith and consciousness I would not feel confident they are repairing the Mudhead appropriately or causing further harm to the unit out of malice. The inconsistencies of the staff, the unprofessional service and lack of Customer Care, I would not recommended anyone to do business with them. They are quick to sell you the product with false statements of quality, but not willing to stand behind the product they willing received FULL payment for. read more
