This is my 2nd bad experience with this place, save your time and money. I only gave 1 star because I couldn't give less.
On June 15th, I go to start my car and it won't turn on. I try again and it turns on but is very slow to start. I drive it for a few minutes and now the check engine light is on. I head over to Auto Zone in the hopes that they can give me some sort of reading with an explanation. Based on what I experienced on the drive, I was thinking transmission or battery. (I am by no stretch of the imagination a mechanic, but my father did teach me a little about cars. He never wanted his daughter to be taken advantage of by mechanics or the like.) I get the code from Autozone, but the employee said he had never seen it so I decided to call the dealership. BIG MISTAKE!!!
I get connected to Shawn Anderson in the service department. When I read him the code, he practically screams at me, "I don't even know what that means, you just need to bring your car in!!" I let that go, and ask for the first available appointment. I explain I have an extended warranty through my credit union and try to ask questions about the loaner car, but he was very quick to get off the phone after scheduling a Wed morning 9:00am appointment. I called the warranty company to get some questions answered and decide I need to call Shawn back. He didn't answer so I left a message, that was never returned.
I called on Tuesday morning to see about reaching him again and get a different person who tells me not only do I not have an appointment on Wed but also, I can't make an appointment with Shawn because he no longer has any loaner cars. I explain that I am a single mother of 2 children with a job and that I need to get this taken car of ASAP. Lo and behold, an appointment and car surfaces with service adviser Paul for the same day at 1:30. I leave work and make the 35 minute trip, only to get there and have Paul now tell me I don't have an appointment with him either. He decides, begrudgingly that he will go ahead and try to help me anyway...gee THANKS. As he is in the process of finding out what the issue is, another man walks up and claims that I am the customer of Shawn and that Shawn is already working on getting me a car. An argument between employees ensues while I stand there. Paul goes into their system now and sees that I actually now have 2 appointments. He passes me on to Shawn, I finally get the issue resolved and am off in the loaner back to work.
I get a voicemail on Wednesday about 3:00 letting me know the battery was leaking acid and is bad and also ruined the right cable and can be resolved for a mere $494. At this point I have had the car almost 7 months. There is no way that happened in the last 7 months, definitely a pre-existing issue with the car. I call Shawn back and tell him that. His exact words to me were, "It's your car and your responsibility, we don't have any sponsors for that type of thing. You are going to need to call your salesman if you think we should pay for this. There is nothing I can do" WOW He transfers me to Michael Ware, who is of the EXACT same mindset. He is truly only there to sell you a car, good or not, and then he is done with you. He called me 2 times after he sold me the car, not to check on me but rather to have me send him customers. NOT LIKELY!! Michael says to me,"There is nothing I can do, YOU bought a used car." Fair enough, but let me try your manager instead. Michael tells me I should speak with the Service department manager, who didn't answer his phone or the Director Don Felbert. I was able to connect with Don, who in literally 3 minutes called me back saying he COULD take care of all but $100. I agreed and the work was completed. Thank you Don, the one and ONLY person at this ENTIRE dealership with any class and customer service skills.
I am able to pick up my car on Friday. I go over to talk to Michael's manager, Tex and complain about his lack of customer service training. Well, sadly after speaking with Tex, I can see where Michael gets it from. While I am TRYING to talk to Tex, he repeatedly cuts me off, and raises his voice to talk over me. He is not at all interested in hearing my complaint and says, "If we have rectified the situation, why are we even talking now? Can we just go ahead and end this conversation?" WOW a thousand times. I leave, but I get his card and call the corporate office. I speak to a gentleman I was transferred too, poor soul. He explains he wasn't the right person but I was so done at this point that he just listened. I explained to him that I realize my complaints would likely fall on deaf ears and that was fine, but I just needed to let them know that a huge retraining in customer service was in order for all but Don. He assured me that the GM would call me the following week. I haven't heard from anyone, but I'm not surprised. read more
