I had the car towed to Jay's and gave him a box full of random car parts, nuts, bolts, etc. The next day he was able to put everything back together and the car ran perfect. All in all, I see a bright future ahead for this place. He doesn't do much advertising and is all word of mouth. His prices are great, and he is a very honest mechanic. It's protected two generations of families and now it's on its third. Of course, over the years Goldilocks has had its adventures with a few wear and tear scars. When our Ohana adopted Goldilocks, we really didn't know where to take our car for repairs. I asked dozens of mechanic shops around town and because of Goldilocks make, model, and year, no~one wanted (or had the right tools) to work on the car. Word-of-mouth lead me to Uncle Ed. After speaking with him on the phone for a few minutes, I knew I found the right man for the job to restore our car back to road worthy conditions. Uncle Ed and his assistant are good ole' honest mechanics that give me a straightforward answer each time I have a problem or question about Goldilocks health. We still have a few more things to address with the car and a couple of preventative issues to fix. Luckily, Uncle Ed knows his stuff and has a good game plan ahead for Goldilocks, allowing me and my Ohana the peace of mind of knowing our car still has a long future ahead with many more miles of adventures. They only replaced it because I called them weekly! I made an appointment with John and it was very quick and easy. Best part is he showed me how to do it and didn't charge me a dime. I recommend his service. He is a master mechanic who knows what he is doing and does the job right, the first time!

I got into a front end collision…read more they left my truck out in the rain for a few months and never cared to air it out. got it back all moldy. they fixed the damage structurally . paint is whack. loose upper bumper panels. i had to ask for missing mud flaps and missing skid plate.... the worst was my ac. they loosened the Schrader valves to empty the system so they could replace the whole radiator support. when i got the truck back no ac. so I had them check it out. they sent me to cars808. chase said it was a evap core and that it was going to cost me 8000. he charged me 200 for a lame 15 minute diag. I later got around to fixing it myself. both high and low Schrader valves were left loose and open. ac would charge but loose charge over night. I gave them time to reach out and make it right. hilo is small. I hope they can improve and stop taking advantage of people. aloha

I even went to Walmart to get a different size tire iron, again, no fit. Finally, we called Busy Bee and our call was answered promptly. The person was honest enough to tell us that it might take an hour to an hour and a half before someone can get to us. Which was fine, but we got a call from an older gentleman sooner to let us know that he will be meeting us in about 35-40 minutes and he was on time. He was pleasant and conversant while he was changing my daughter's tire and had the tools to take the lug nuts off. In addition, he patched my daughter's tire as well! Saved us a lot of money by not having to buy 4 new tires for an all wheel drive car. I will have to call them and find out the gentleman's name because we are definitely using them again and would prefer the same gentleman to provide the service.

I've only lived on island…read morefor three years, so I consulted Yelp for help finding a tow after my Puna Hooptie broke down at Cost-U-Less. The dispatchers were friendly and efficient. Scotty arrived within about 15 minutes, just like the dispatchers estimated. Scotty got me home before my frozen foods thawed and even took a little extra time to get my Puna Hooptie backed into my carport so that I would be out of the rain while fixing it. Scotty and I talked story during the tow. He is a super nice and funny guy! We talked about hunting and fishing in Alaska and Hawaii... how our parents and grandparents did it... how they would cook the meals, etc.. It was really cool to listen to his stories and learning more about the local culture! Thank you guys very much!
