We signed our contract in December, work didn't start until March which was frustrating but fine. Semper hired a contractor to come out and place the rails and panels, he put multiple holes in the roof because he "couldn't find the studs" the rep from Semper got into an argument with him on my roof and kicked him off the job. I requested that we get roofer out to fix the holes, instead, the sales rep went up and "fixed" them. A day later, a pallet of solar panels was dropped off in my driveway, they are still sitting there...5 months later...we discovered tonight that the roof is leaking. Huge surprise, there is no resolution and no one to talk to. Run. Far. Away. I promise it's not worth it.

I talked to both owners, Christina and Jared, because they both came to my house at different times during the installation, and I'm an inquisitive and demanding customer (Warren Buffet was my neighbor back in Omaha) ... you make me happy, you're the best at what you do! I even offered to buy a percentage of the company, but they turned me down saying, "This is our life's work. We love what we do." They killed the competition. SunPro/ADT ($45k) was almost 50% higher than the price of Bay Area Solar ($31,776). A third less memorable competitor was 20% more and far less professional and friendly. Installation was fast and professional. I've been researching solar panels for 30 years so I knew what I was getting, and I got the best bang for the buck. No money down, $8261 Federal Tax Credit, $160 a month for 20 years, written guarantee that all my panels will produce 95% of what they produce the first day of installation, or Bay Area Solar will replace them for free. My bill with Duke has consistently been the minimum $35.96, with a few winter months around $60 due to more cloudy days and angle of the sun. My neighborhood was built in 1978, and my neighbors consistently pay $300, $400, and sometimes $500 a month. I came across some serious family issues and needed to cancel my plans of getting solar put on my house. It was also more than 10 days after when they said in the paper work they were going to have the construction done on my house. I hadn't had one thing done to my house by them at all. NOT ONE THING. They put a lien on my house and are insisting me to pay 5% of the contract amount. I asked them to take off my lien and they said no. I told them I would most likely be willing to take them to court and they said if I did that then they would change their request to the entire amount of the solar system. My solar was going to cost $50k so I now have to pay the 5% if I don't want to file a law suit on them which I will. That's $2500 for getting nothing from them. I've spoken to other solar companies and read through their paper work and not one other company I've seen holds their customers feet to the fire like this. I would never recommend doing business with AC/DC Solar LLC. If you have signed their paper work cancel it quick before the 3 days are up. Do not sign their paper work.

After the job was completed, the finance department immediately began pressuring me for the final payment. I explained multiple times that there was another insurance check pending, yet only 11 days after completion they threatened to place a lien on my property. When I contacted my insurance company, I learned they had just received the completion photos from the roofing company that same morning--meaning the company had been pressuring and threatening me before the insurance even had the necessary documentation. I called the roofing company asking to speak to a supervisor. To file a complaint about the employee who refused to listen regarding the pending insurance funds and about the inappropriate threats made toward me. I was transferred to "Carry," who identified herself as the Insurance Supervisor. She showed no professionalism or concern and told me they had "every right" to place a lien, despite the fact that insurance payment was still pending. Her attitude and lack of professional conduct were alarming. Based on my experience, this company is far from professional, and I now have serious concerns about the quality of the work performed on my roof.

To make matters worse, I was not left with any paperwork, no water test results, and no actual information about my water quality--only pressure to buy an expensive system. This experience felt more like being cornered into a major financial decision than receiving a simple service. After raising my concerns to the company, the president initially responded, but when I followed up with a detailed account of what happened, they stopped communicating altogether. Well, where do I start.... Inspector came and failed the system due to the unit was place right in first od outside faucet. Wojw up this morning and found unit sprung a leak and whole side yard was full of water. They were scheduled to come today to move equipment away from faucet The white PVC piping cracked and was leaking water in 2 places. I tild them to cancel and take equipment and they told me its been over 3 days so I can't cancel contract. Not sure how thry figure that since it was only moved today and fixed. As of right now I fi not know if it is working right due to no electric in area. I am not a happy customer.
