USE FREEDOM MOVERS AT YOUR OWN PERIL. I've been putting off this review for quite a while hoping that the owners would make good on their promises but that has not come to pass. I hired Randy and Christine of Freedom Movers to move us from Pennsylvania to Florida in late April 2022. Randy came out and did the estimate. Super nice guy, very personable, but it turns out that was all a façade and he does not tell the truth and he's unreliable. . His team of movers were super nice guys. Showed up on time. Worked their butts off all day long and packed the trucks without complaint. Respectful and clean. They get five stars and we're all tipped $100 on both sides of the move. Randy assured us that anything that got broken on the move would be immediately replaced and that he had never had an insurance claim in the history of this company. He said he would make good if there was an issue. Well lo and behold the guys came to unload in Florida and my $2800 flatscreen TV was destroyed, two lamps was completely destroyed, and there was a big chunk out of our credenza. There were other issues smaller as well and we called Randy on the spot and let him know. He said that he wanted his crew to take the television and broken lamps back with him and that he would send out a furniture repair expert to fix the credenza. He said the television was such a high expense that he was gonna put the whole thing through to his insurance company and that it might take about eight weeks to straighten out. I took him at his word and gave him the grace to get it straightened out however I never heard from him again. He's never once initiated a phone call to us to let us know what's going on. And now he's not returning phone calls or emails. Also Randy said he would haul away from our old house, some junk that we were needing to dispose of. Assured us he would pick it up the afternoon after the trucks pulled away. Days later it was all still there and after numerous phone calls he finally did come and pick it up. This company does not do good business. The owner does not tell the truth and if your possessions get destroyed...tough. read more

These guys moved every big and small piece out out of our house and loaded it up all while smiling and being friendly. It was as if Superman cloned himself and opened a moving company. As for the price, while it's important to know these guys are not the cheapest, they actually have extremely reasonable rates. Randy has been in business for some time and knows what he offers and you see the results with your eyes. If you want an unreliable double booked crew who may or may not show up on the day of the move, go with that company. I really wish I could say this was a pleasant experience because the young workers were very nice, friendly, and hardworking. However, it was the most frustrating moving experience. First off, the movers arrived 3 hours late. I understand 30 min due to traffic but 3 hours is absolutely inexcusable. Once they finally reached Philadelphia, they had to pick up a moving van. I do not understand why they don't have their own. Not only did the arrive late, they reeked of marijuana. One would think they were hot boxing the moving truck between trips. Furthermore, they could not get my large couch to fit in the doorway. I understand our new place is the basement unit so the wall came down but they tried for 5 minutes and gave up. I mentioned that there was an another entrance and windows and they didn't even bother to try. They then took it to my old apartment and my cousin had to bring his pick-up truck down and take it to my parents' house. The owner of the moving company recommend I sell it? Hello it was a $1400 couch that's not even a year old why would I sell that? While trying to fit my couch into the doorway, they ripped both corners of the cushions and DESTROYED the walls in our brand new/just built apartment. We had to go out and buy magic erasers and scrub for multiple days before our landlord saw. The move took pretty much all day and once we got the furniture in you could tell the boys wanted to leave immediately. I felt rushed when they placed all the furniture when ideally I wish they would have rearranged things a few times (the couch was immediately placed on the area rug and my roommate and I are not strong enough to pick move the couch and the rug now). I will say the boys were really nice and didn't ask us for any help. They were quick with getting everything out of my apartment and I definitely could not have done it alone. They also wrapped all of our furniture and covered the mirrors with cloth. However, we paid a HEFTY price for these movers IN CASH so I expected a much better experience. Communication was thorough, they were responsive and kept me updated with an estimate and number of moves as well as their arrival time and estimated move duration. They were so efficient and friendly, they even disassembled and re-assembled a few pieces that needed to be taken apart to move. We hired Freedom Movers to move us from Philadelphia to Westchester NY. This was a two part move- from Philly into storage and then from storage to Westchester. They arrived hours late to the Philadelphia move. We had informed them that we had to catch a flight that night and needed to leave by a certain time. Due to the tardiness they were not able to complete the job in time. We could not miss our flight so had to leave them there to finish the job. They sent us pictures of the house after to show that it was packed. On our move in day in Westchester they again arrived hours late. They were supposed to arrive in the morning and did not arrive until past dark. They unloaded the truck in the dark. They brought in our heavy duty plastic storage bins which housed our clothes. They let us know that they had seen mice and mice droppings in our storage space. We understand that the mice are not their fault. They verbally (and visibly) let us know that all of the bins had broken. Clearly they were stacked too high/heavily. All of the tops of the bins were cracked and caved in and the sides of the bins were cracked as well. This meant that the mice and mice droppings had been able to get into the bins. There were droppings in our clothes and other belongings. The bins did not break themselves. Some had survived other heavy duty moves and storage and some had been purchased new. All were destroyed. The movers needed to get back to PA and it was very late so we tried to be mindful of their time and quickly wrap things up. We did a quick walk through with Randy and at the time, in the dark, with everything still packed and the dining room table still covered, we identified some damage to a side table. Randy said to send her a repair estimate and they would pay for the damage. As we unpacked we discovered that many of our china dishes, which had been packed in U-haul's dish saver boxes (we have used this type of box in past moves without issue and they are specifically designed to protect dishes and glassware) had shattered. These boxes were marked fragile and clearly indicated as china boxes. They clearly had not been handled with care. We also discovered deep indents on the sides of the dining room table- perhaps maintained when the movers squeezed the table through the door or at a different stage of the transit. There is also a deep indented scrape on top of the table. We had let the movers know initially that this table was very valuable and we requested extra care in its handling. WE had said the same about the boxes marked fragile. We let Randy know about the various damage and sent pictures of the damaged items and how they had been packed. She replied quickly, denying responsibility, writing "Hi Emilie, Things are well thank you. As far a the damage to the clothing and storage bins you chose the storage unit which we notified you after removal of the items we noticed there were mice. So for those items you will need to contact the storage unit. As for the broken China we did not pack the boxes and asked for photos of the inside of the boxes to see how the items were packaged. Anything marked fragile did not have anything placed on top to avoid damage and nothing moved during transit in terms of the location of the boxes placed on the truck. In our years of service we have never had damage to anything packed in containers so it seems as if the boxes were not packed properly. If you could provide the requested photos of how the boxes were packed that would be appreciated. Are you available to touch base tomorrow to discuss how to proceed moving forward. Also we can only view one of the three attached photos. If you could resend them or text them it would be appreciated. Thank you." "We do a walk through for a reason so if it was not pointed out at the time of the walk trough we are not responsible. How would you like the reimbursement for the nightstand? We will need a receipt to send reimbursement. Thank you." "When we left your home we did a walk-through with you and the only thing that you showed us that was damaged was the end table so we can send you money for that as for anything else that you found damaged it wasn't shown to us while we were there so that is not our responsibility. It reveals how difficult it has been to even try to communicate to the extent we have. Their responses are belligerent and their reasoning circular. They refuse to take responsibility. We have followed up numerous times requesting reimbursement for the damage, and finally, succumbing and even desperately pleading that they at least honor their promise to pay for the nightstand damage. I hired Freedom Movers for a move in late 2017. They arrived hours late to both of my moves. They did almost $2000 worth of damage to my belongings and refused to take responsibility, breaking dishes and glassware, destroying heavy duty storage containers, and damaging wooden furniture. In the face of the timing and damage issues they have consistently used the method of diverting attention from the issue by bringing up outside issues, blaming objects ("the GPS says x time", "the storage bins broke"). We have sent documentation, pictures, and requests for reimbursement for the past 4 months. They have taken zero responsibility and will not even respond to us. This is a scam of a business. It is not comprehensible that they wouldn't just make an insurance claim for the damage they did and reimburse us. They caused us significant financial loss, disrupted our move in dates and schedules with their lack of sticking to the times they promise, and have proven incapable and unwilling to engage in a discussion about the facts at hand. read more

Our recent move with Freedom Movers was probably the most pleasant moving experience I've ever had. From start to finish, the owners Randy and Christina were responsive and helpful. In addition to being skilled packers and movers, they are just genuinely nice people and definitely went above and beyond, helping us repair a piece of furniture our last movers damaged (unbeknownst to us!) and more. The moving crew was friendly and efficient. They took extreme care moving items out of our old apartment and into our new house - without leaving even the slightest scuff mark on the wall. Their rates were also very reasonable for the level of service provided. In full disclosure, the only hiccup we had was throughout the whole process was for packing services - as it turned out, a section of our kitchen cabinets accidentally went unpacked - and we didn't realize until we were unpacking in our new home. Thankfully, our old apartment isn't too far away so it wasn't a big deal for us to go get the missing items the next day. I would give more stars if I could! The entire team was friendly, professional and could not have been more accommodating. They went to three different locations for our move and it was completely seamless. The team went above and beyond by helping me load my car to drop items to Goodwill and removing some larger junk items on the spot. From gas/tolls, to wrapping delicate items and wall décor to dis and reassembling furniture was all included in their initial estimate so we had no surprises.
