We couldn't start it and had them come to our home to analyze the situation. They had to re-order a part, now mind you, this is a 26-year-old part!!! They were very upfront in letting us know that even with this new part, our fireplace may not work. Sam our technician was out at our house for over an hour, and he was trying everything he could to get this new part to work to light the pilot light. He had a candid conversation with us and said I will try one more solution, but I don't think it's going to work. The next thing we knew, he actually got the pilot light to light. Without his patience and sheer diligence, we would have paid for an almost $800 part that was worthless. he was so apologetic when he had to deliver the initial bad news, and we were all so happy when he actually made the fireplace work. He was professional, thorough, and corrected some potential problems I wasn't even aware of. While he was on the roof, he checked my skylights and caulked several spots that were cracked, or where the caulking had fallen out. He even talked to my cat who seemed to think she was supervising. When he came in with his black clothes and tall black hat, I realized that I had also had him clean my chimney in 2011, when I first moved here. I would recommend him without any qualms. You will have a clean and safe fireplace and chimney when he is done.
