Within just a few days, they had someone on my roof performing a thorough inspection. My roof was nearly 30 years old, had multiple leaks, and several other issues. They walked me through everything they found, explained exactly how they planned to fix it, and answered every question I had. They are licensed, insured, and the roof comes with an extensive warranty. Citlaly arrived with samples of different roofing materials, colors, and underlayments. She was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain the differences between each option so I could make an informed decision. Everyone I dealt with was warm, professional, courteous, and genuinely pleasant. At no point did I ever feel pressured or rushed into making a decision. That same day, they provided me with an extremely detailed, itemized estimate outlining every aspect of the project. The pricing was very fair, and the scope of work actually exceeded my expectations. The only unknown was the amount of wood that might need to be replaced once the old roof was removed, which they explained upfront because it couldn't be determined beforehand. The entire process was incredibly convenient. All of the paperwork was handled electronically through e-signatures, making everything quick and easy. Once I approved the estimate, they had a crew on my roof within two weeks. The crew was phenomenal. They arrived on time every morning, worked incredibly hard throughout the day, and were always friendly and respectful. They would even smile and wave as I took my dogs outside. They were efficient, organized, and it was obvious they knew exactly what they were doing. I work during the day, so they completed everything while I was gone. Every evening when I came home, the job site was spotless. Not just "picked up," it was immaculate. My driveway and backyard were actually cleaner than they were before the project started. One thing that really impressed me involved my security camera system. I had installed it myself, and the wiring was honestly a mess, with cables running across the roof and cameras mounted to the fascia boards. I fully expected them to ask me to remove everything or charge me extra to deal with it. Instead, they never even brought it up. They carefully worked around every wire, temporarily moved what they needed to, put everything back exactly where it belonged, and never charged me a penny extra. It was actually much neater when they finished. When they removed the old roof, they discovered quite a bit of dry rot. It looked to me like they replaced a significant amount of fascia and damaged wood. I was preparing myself for a surprise bill of $1,000 to $2,000 or more. Instead, they charged me exactly what they originally quoted, plus only $500 for all of the additional wood replacement, labor and painting which took them almost a full day. Another pleasant surprise was that they didn't ask for a deposit. I didn't pay a single dollar until the entire project was finished and I was satisfied with the work. They simply texted me a secure online payment link where I could pay by bank transfer or credit card. They even absorbed the credit card processing fee, which is almost unheard of on a project this size. Most importantly, the finished roof looks absolutely beautiful. I'm not a roofing expert, but I know quality craftsmanship when I see it. Everything is straight, clean, and perfectly aligned. The drip edge, flashing, corners, and overall attention to detail are outstanding. JV Roofing should be extremely proud of both their employees and the way they run their business. They are honest, fair, hardworking, and clearly take tremendous pride in their work. JV Roofing completely earned my trust. I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone needing a new roof. They never indicated they were not going to show up if I didn't sign the contract, we had a "verbal contract" via e-mail in which I repeatedly stated my available date and they repeatedly stated they would be there ON THAT DATE. They did not communicate with me on the contracted date as I sat waiting for their arrival - out paid work - nor did they respond to any of my e-mails that day nor in the days following UNTIL THIS REVIEW was posted. They ghosted me from appointment time until they caught this bad review on Yelp. Pay no heed to the "businessman" behind the contractor curtain! (Also see his comment " Imagine trying to get paid by these people!" We had a contractor in here the day prior. Paid cash as agreed. Jason's cash was waiting...he just wasn't willing to show up for the work to collect it.) ORIGINAL REVIEW: Their communication system sucks (no actual call - just e-mail) and they didn't show for the final job. Just ghosted me! Bummer since I took a day off work to be here for them. If you want good communication and folks who show up, not this one. (I'm still waiting to hear back from them after they failed to show four days ago. They aren't answering e-mails.) So here's the story: I contacted Page Roofing after we detected a leak the last week of December. They showed up to check it out the first week of January. The crew of two was fast, efficient, documented their find, even made one quick, immediate, five-minute fix before heading back to the office to formulate their bid for more extensive work. Bid seemed high, but Jason worked on their transportation/fuel fee to help reduce it slightly. We bit the bullet and commmitted to being here. He sent a contract to be signed, but it didn't have a single date. Rather, it offered a window. I told Jason (see attached image) that I wasn't available for a window, so wouldn't sign contract stating such flexible work. He responded that they'd be here on set date, but never changed the contract, so of course I didn't sign it. They said they'd be here. Didn't show. Didn't respond that morning to contacts (made via e-mail). Entirely unprofessional. So...I'm out a day's income, the roof still isn't patched up, and I have to start over again (with a different, hopefully more professional company). UPDATE ONE: I just looked up their license via state licensing board. Should have done THIS research before. (Will do here forward.) I had obtained five re-roofing estimates before choosing Hernandez Roofing. The job was to remove a cedar shake roof and install a 40-year composite shingle roof and seamless gutters around the entire perimeter. After meeting and discussing my needs with Fernando, he provided a detailed estimate via email within a few days. I called and accepted his estimate and we agreed on a date to begin. They arrived with the necessary permit and began the job on time. The re-roofing went without any problems, from the removal of the old roof to the installation of the plywood, felt and new shingle. They installed new flashings and eyebrow vents (see pictures) and allowed me to choose the color with which they'd be painted. They consulted with me as to the placement of the eyebrow vents as well. They also worked with me to install two tunnel skylights. All went very well and it was nice that they met with me whenever there were questions. The installation of new gutters also went well. Once again, they met with me and inquired whether I wanted the new downspouts in the same locations or elsewhere. I took some time to make this decision as I wanted a couple of them moved and they were very patient. Once again, the owner and crew were all very courteous, hard-working and professional. There was a very small amount of debris around the house as they finished the job but I can't imagine ripping off a 30-year-old cedar shake roof without a few errant staples to be found. I would definitely recommend Hernandez Roofing to anyone in need of a re-roof, with or without new gutters. Their prices are very competitive and the owners are very friendly and explain everything. This was the first time I used Mr. Hernandez and I selected him because of his 5-star Yelp review. He special ordered the shingles so I had the exact same brand, type and color to match my house and drove 100 miles just to get them. Because of heavy rains that occurred while we waited ten days for the shingles, he and his crew fully tarped the bare roof until the weather cleared. In two days my roofing and 104 ft of seamless gutters and downspouts were installed and everything looks great. Mr. Hernandez and his crew were always on-time and I was impressed with the care they took to get my job done right. His price was fair and his crew even cleaned up some construction trash that the previous framers left behind!
