UPDATE TWO - posted AFTER THEIR RESPONSE (INITIAL REVIEW BELOW STANDS): This contractor did communicate PRIOR to not showing up. They never indicated they were not going to show up if I didn't sign the contract, we had a "verbal contract" via e-mail in which I repeatedly stated my available date and they repeatedly stated they would be there ON THAT DATE. They did not communicate with me on the contracted date as I sat waiting for their arrival - out paid work - nor did they respond to any of my e-mails that day nor in the days following UNTIL THIS REVIEW was posted. They ghosted me from appointment time until they caught this bad review on Yelp. Pay no heed to the "businessman" behind the contractor curtain! (Also see his comment " Imagine trying to get paid by these people!" We had a contractor in here the day prior. Paid cash as agreed. Jason's cash was waiting...he just wasn't willing to show up for the work to collect it.) ORIGINAL REVIEW: Their communication system sucks (no actual call - just e-mail) and they didn't show for the final job. Just ghosted me! Bummer since I took a day off work to be here for them. If you want good communication and folks who show up, not this one. (I'm still waiting to hear back from them after they failed to show four days ago. They aren't answering e-mails.) So here's the story: I contacted Page Roofing after we detected a leak the last week of December. They showed up to check it out the first week of January. The crew of two was fast, efficient, documented their find, even made one quick, immediate, five-minute fix before heading back to the office to formulate their bid for more extensive work. Bid seemed high, but Jason worked on their transportation/fuel fee to help reduce it slightly. We bit the bullet and commmitted to being here. He sent a contract to be signed, but it didn't have a single date. Rather, it offered a window. I told Jason (see attached image) that I wasn't available for a window, so wouldn't sign contract stating such flexible work. He responded that they'd be here on set date, but never changed the contract, so of course I didn't sign it. They said they'd be here. Didn't show. Didn't respond that morning to contacts (made via e-mail). Entirely unprofessional. So...I'm out a day's income, the roof still isn't patched up, and I have to start over again (with a different, hopefully more professional company). UPDATE ONE: I just looked up their license via state licensing board. Should have done THIS research before. (Will do here forward.) I wish I had hired a different company. I'm a new first time homeowner, trying to be responsible and keep up on the maintenance. I trusted Jason and thought that I was in good hands. Page did an initial site inspection to scope their proposal so I figured it would be a good proposal. Things did not go well, and its been a negative experience working with Jason. Jason was difficult to communicate with and the crew he hired to do the job did poor quality work. They damaged some rafters during their repair that they refused to replace. Nails from installing the new fascia boards missed the rafters and there are pointy nails visible sticking out from under the exposed sheeting, overhang, and sticking out of the rafters. The main central joist was marked for replacement due to age and they did not replace it, they just put new shingles atop the sheeting above the joist, which means we now have to hire a contractor to fix the joist and likely rip up and replace the new shingles Page just installed. I tried to reach out to Jason and he wouldn't speak with me, instead he sent me three different invoices with varying charged amounts, the invoices were nonsensical and the numbers in the line items didn't match the total cost provided. Jason has been ignoring my emails and pictures, and won't comment on if he thinks the work is to acceptable to industry standards. I think he hired a crew that was moving way to fast and cutting corners. Jason also hit me up for a huge change order for additional material and labor after they started the work, so If you are seeing other reviews about how Page will increase the costs after they start the job, you can absolutely expect that. Please take my advice and find a different roof company that does sound and reliable work and can communicate in a professional manner. Good luck to you. Update! In light of his email I decided to add pictures of their shoddy work to my review for posterity. Good luck you out there! Additional UPDATE** After Jason emailed me and saw my review, I finally got him on the phone. He agreed the work was not acceptable and he reduced costs. He also got pretty heated on the phone, told me to "go back to Culver City where they have time for this sort of thing", and then hung up the phone. I am not from Culver City for the record. Jason asked me if I would be willing to take down my yelp review. After paying the invoice, he asked me to keep the yelp review up so he could respond as a warning to other contractors. We are currently in escrow on a home in Morro Bay. The home inspection report indicated the roof needed further inspection due to water staining in the attic. My realtors go-to roofer was booked solid until July. We are working on a limited timeframe, so I reached out to a couple of companies. Page Roofing and Jason was super responsive and in fact was the only company who provided a same day response. Jason booked a inspection date and I was thrilled to learn that his price was reasonable and fair. Within 2 days of the inspection I received the report, multiple pictures and a estimate for repair on the flashing! I was extremely impressed with the service and responsiveness. If this was the last roofing company left, I would still avoid them with a 10 foot pole! It is horrifying to think, that as a home owner we tend to trust that a contractor would treat our home with respect, but in there are some (like the workers to this company) who just don't. You never know when you are going to be a victim to such disrespect. That's part of the horror. Unfortunately, not every man respects a woman who is single and which calls them out for a specific service. I called upon this company to estimate a minor repair, possibly. Unsure, what another roofer would charge to seal a tear (or so I was told) in the felt. Come to find out, it was neither a tear or the felt. But a leak around my skylight. Hmmmm. Which brings me to another jab, to this companies traits. This company sent out, 2 men of hispanic origin. Both acted as though they didn't understand me, really when I spoke. I've had this happen before. No biggie. I understand more than I speak, properly. But I kept that to myself, until now. The heavier one gets on my roof, while the smaller is still talking to me. We both walk out my back slider and are looking up at the larger one. I am listening to them speak, they don't know I understand. Not only that but as I begin to direct the one on the roof to the area where I was told was the issue, he is removing tiles and decides to KICK THEM to put them back into place. I was IN AWE!! to say this as to the point as I can. I, couldn't believe what I was seeing. It hapened to so fast, I couldn't believe the audacity of this person to disrespect my home and property IN FRONT OF ME! IS HE STUPID!! I am the daughter of a contractor! I KNOW you don't KICK SPANISH TILE! NOR DO YOU NOT WALK GENTLY ON THE ROOF! This idiot, did neither! Before I could beat him with my words and redirect his large ass off my roof, he turns to me and tells me " you have a couple broken tiles "... to which I ripped into his lying ass and told him I watched him kick the tile, instead of taking the few seconds it would take to bend over his robust gut to FIT them back in the place they were in, when he 1st moved them! The way I was taught was, when you work for a company, you are a branch - a representative, of said company. What you do, how you carry yourself, and what you say all tell how that company is. I should have ran with that thought, and knowledge when they got in their truck. I instead, pushed for the estimate, to which took the owner entirely too long to get out. I had to chase to get this estimate. I wanted to "see" how this company charges. Is the owner aware that he has such outstanding idiots out there representing his roofing company? Like I said, I am the daughter of a ex contractor. My dad, decided to take his intelligence and strength and move in a more lucrative direction after moving up here, from IE. But the knowledge remains. He, also had morons working for him at one time, but didn't know. So not everyone KNOWS everything all the time. But when this man of PAGE roofing was confronted with the knowledge of how HIS REPRESENTATIVES CONDUCTED THEMSELVES at my home. Broke tiles, lied about it, was completely disrespectful to me... I was only told "we will address this in the morning..." WOW! I could have reported this to the police department, but didn't. I could have told my insurance. But didn't. We used Page Roofing and Solar to install our solar panels. They did a fantastic job! Jason is very professional and his crew did a great job. We could not be happier with the service. Jason answered all our questions and followed through to make sure the system was working correctly. We are able to contact him anytime if we need him for any solar problems, but to this date the system is working great. We installed the panels on our roof and it was great to have a roofing contractor do the solar job. I needed replacement of roof tiles and fascia boards and construction of a roof access to an outbuilding. Page Roofing was very prompt and efficient throughout the entire process and their work was excellent. After I submitted my request, they came out 2 days later and then provided an estimate 2 days after that. Their cost was very fair and reasonable. After I signed the contract, they scheduled the work for 3 weeks later but they later called to start a week earlier. Although their estimate was 3 days, they completed all 3 projects in just 2 days. The roof tiles match perfectly; the fascia boards are properly aligned; and the roof access is functional. The crew was very respectful and mindful of avoiding a mess. Terrible firm, poor ethics, and lack of funding to address failed work. I would strongly warn people off using Page Roofing for any major work. Be sure to get any warranties proffered in writing if you intend to use them, and ensure that they have a funding for your specific job, set-aside in some form such as a letter of credit with you or your firm named as beneficiary, or the warranty is likely to be ignored or wrapped in such follow on complexities with their bonding firm to be worthless. Any warranty should include documentation that they have retained and committed the resources to complete any follow-on repairs. Our installation leaked the first year after installation of a parapet "14 year" warranty roof, and they failed to come out or address the issue and forced us into an appeal to their bond holder, who has given us hours of assignments to document all aspects of the installation before addressing the sloppy and inappropriate completion problems. The roofers who did the installation broke or damaged nine terra cotta downspouts (scuppers) and failed to come out and repair them after making written commitments that they would do so for over eight months. On a personal level, this contractor is nasty if confronted with failure at installation, including a literal "F___K You" in an email, not what one would hope for in an ethical contractor. We have built three homes in this area, and always found roofers the hardest to work with, but this firm should get a pass if you are looking for quality, integrity, or repairs if mistakes are made or leaks occur. If you do decide to use them under any warranty program, be sure to get a "letter of credit" from the firm to be held in your name at a reputable bank to be sure they will honor leaving the work site clean, completed, and stable for the long term. The repair they quoted was way over the top, but in that the buyers were the ones who selected them, we went along to keep things moving. They quoted $3,ooo for a simple fascia removal and some metal flashing repair. When the workmen were here they spent most of the time on their smart phones. When the final bills came it is was closer to $4,000. I feel we were ripped off. Jason, the owner of Page Roofing, had just signed with a major supply company, GAF, to present a new roof to someone in the community that needed their help. It is a program called, 'No Roof Left Behind'. I was fortunate enough to be the recipient. Not only did they replace the roof in front, a standard gable, but they also replaced the failing flat roof in the back with the latest if flat roof roofing techniques. They can repair and/or replace any type of roof, flat, sloped, metal, shingled and more. Versatility was an attribute I found limited while contacting several other roofers in the area. My first attempt at homeownership could have been a disaster, but for Page Roofing. In spite of the rain, the dedicated workers at Page Roofing kept my home together. They took time to keep me informed and offer suggestions. When they did run into work outside of their expertise, Jason notified me, and he found a contractor with reasonable rates and an abundancy of skill. I was very disappointed in the service I received from Page Roofing. I had 2 projects, repairs to a leaky roof on my house as well as my workshop. They came out and had a nice visit from the estimate person. Said I would here something shortly and they should be able to ge to us in a week or so. Heard nothing for 3 Weeks. Finally showed over a month later to do the house repairs. Never returned to do the workshop which was my priority job. Won't come out to do it now either. My husband and I just finished having Owens Corning Lifetime Duration Cool Architectural Shingles, Titanium UDL 50 underlayment, O'Hagin vents, roof cap vents and ridges and a new skylight installed on our house by Jason Mueller of Page Roofing. It is a major event to re-roof and one we did not take lightly, but Jason and his very talented crew made the job a stress free one and took away all of our concerns. They replaced old dry rot areas with new boards and sealed every possible opening around pipes and chimney and vents ensuring that our roof will weather the rain and sun with no problems. They even brought new life to our wooden shed with the same products.
