Date of Installation 11/1/2013 - As our townhouse approached its 17th birthday we had to "face the music" about our HVAC unit. It was costing us several hundred dollars a year just to keep it running. The constant addition of Freon for the A/C was very expensive. But much more difficult was the anxiety our ageing system was causing us. Seemed like every couple months either the furnace or the A/C would just stop working, and we were forced to call a repairman. In addition, the heating and cooling was inconsistent throughout our 3 story townhouse. One floor was freezing while the other was baking. We tried adjusting a lever on the air flow pipe out of the furnace but it never seemed to do the job. Like most homeowners, we weren't financially prepared to pay for a new unit so we kept inching along spending money for something that wasn't doing the job with no real end in sight. The death knoll came for our furnace when a part broke that controlled the gas coming into the unit. The cost of the part was $1,400 with no guarantee that it would work for very long because the unit was so outdated. That is when we knew we needed to do "bite the bullet" and replace our geriatric unit. Fortunately for us someone we trusted recommended Frederick Heating and A/C. They came out quickly and helped us see that it was the best option to invest in a new system. I don't want to mention the Frederick company we worked with for years because they were a good company and I don't want to discredit their work. But Frederick Heating offered us a permanent solution at a less expensive price. So we went with them. From start to finish we were pleased with Frederick Heating's professionalism, workmanship, and pressure-free salesmanship. They simply presented their recommended options and let us chose what we wanted. I am a stickler for keeping your word and every step of the process Frederick Heating kept their word, from the price, to the time and date of installation, to how long it would take, and to how happy we would be with the results. We ended up purchasing an Amana unit because we were approaching retirement and planned to live in our home for 30 more years. Amana offered a life-time warranty which we paid extra for. It was the best investment we have made in a long time! Worth every penny! We have owned our system now for 2 and 1/2 years and it has run trouble free. All 3 levels of our townhouse have much more evenly distributed heating and cooling. We also purchased Frederick Heating's service contract so we know our unit will be checked and cleaned at regular intervals. We let Frederick Heating worry about our system now, we don't have to anymore. That is good news! Three wonderful things have happened since the installment - amazing heating and cooling in the house, no more worries about our HVAC, and, more importantly, our gas and electric bills have both gone down. This company is totally amazing and professional. My air condition went out right before getting off of work and I came home to see if I could fix the problem on my own. All of my interventions did not work, so I gave Frederick Heating and Air Conditioning a call. The reason why I called this company was due to the last experience I had with this company( they fixed my problem, but when I got home, I saw that they replaced my filters) **Who does that in today's society*** I am not from this area and I don't know a lot of companies to choose from but that is okay with me. Frederick Heating and Air Conditioning is like finding a really good auto mechanic. As long as they are in business, they will get all of my business when it comes to HVAC issues and concerns. Why do I like them? Christian based company, Honest, On(really before) time, Gives the best price around, and last of all the technicians are respectful and willing to explain everything before fixing the problem. I contacted them yesterday at 5:30 and spoke with the owner, Mike, he listened to my issues and diagnosed the issue over the phone. He told me everything that was going on with my unit and he was on point. It was the furnace fan motor, it was frozen with water running down the unit. He told me to turn off the unit and that he could not get someone there tonight but could have someone at my house by 10 am today. I received a call by their tech at 9:00 am and he said I will be there in 10 minutes. He left to get the part and came directly back to fix the part. I could ask for much more than that, less than 24 hours. Home warranties don't move that fast. Finding this company was a total blessing and when I have an experience like this I feel compelled to tell everyone, my little secret. I don't usually waste my time leaving reviews but if you are like me, not knowing which company to pick out of the phone book, stop before you have a bad experience. I recently woke up to a very cold townhouse and called Frederick Heating and Air first thing. They agreed to come out same day and look at the system. The HVAC technician was very knowledgeable about what the problem was, as well as the best solution. He did give me 2 options - to do costly repairs or replace. Since the unit was builder grade and only expected to last for about 10-12 years and we were on 17, I decided to spend extra money to replace and hopefully save a headache not to far down the road. They were able to get a unit and start installation the same day, which was awesome, as we were expecting a cold night...along with snow. The heating unit was installed and up and running that day. They returned the following day to finish up the AC installation. The entire house is finally heating - and we are warm and toasty for the first time in along time. We hadn't realized how bad it had actually gotten! The technicians were very professional and worked hard at keeping things neat and tidy, as my husband told them I was slightly OCD. Everything was clean and back to normal, before they left. I will be recommending this company to friends and family and will be using them for all my future HVAC needs! read more

Very good experience. AC Compressor would not start. Found Frederick Heating and Air Conditioning on Yelp and sent them a message. They responded almost immediately, inside of half an hour. They had a repair person at the house the next morning. Unfortunately for us, the old AC unit did not have an easy fix. The old unit we had was just an AC, it was not a Heat Pump. Since we had to replace the old unit, we decided to go with a Heat Pump. They quickly gave us an estimate, it seemed reasonable, so we decided to go with them. This was on a Thursday, they were back at our house the following Monday. They replaced the unit outside and the Air Handler in the basement and installed a new thermostat. Took about 5 hours on Monday to get us back in business. Frederick Heating and Air Conditioning does offer a Senior Citizen Discount, which saved us quite a bit of money. Check them out if you have HVAC problems, I don't think you will be disappointed in the service you receive. read more

I have a rental townhome in Frederick and last week my tenant called saying the air conditioner was not working. I called Tri-state as they had worked on the unit a number of years ago. They went out that day and recharged the refrigerant. Today the rennet calls and no air again, 5 days later. I call Tri-state back. They hadn't contacted me even to bill me for last week. Oh, well the unit is old and needs to be replaced, or so was the techs recommendation. Not a surprise it's 23 years old. They provided 2 options both seemed rather high. I checked yelp and called these folks. Phil was wonderful. Got me 3 options for replacement within an hour. Saved me $2000 on the same unit AND by the time my tenant got home from work today she had a new heating and air system. Phil let me know when the installation was completed even sending pictures of the job and included the rebate forms for the electric company. Very pleased with Frederick Heating and Air! Initially replaced my furnace system. Original furnace had reached the end of it's service life. Phil promptly returned my call, was very professional and honest regarding a replacement unit. Price was very reasonable and lower than competitors. Unit was installed that afternoon. Six months later my a/c unit went out. Called Phil and again received a no pressure sales quote on various systems and options. Gave a great price and included a further discount for using them previously for the furnace. Later decided to replace my humidifier and FHaAC gave me the best price compared to competitor estimates. We have an older home in Frederick. One of our AC units was no longer cooling as well and running for extended periods due to a partially blocked condenser coil. Frederick Heating and AC was one of 3 companies that we called for quotes. FHAC was the only company to actually measure our house to make sure we would have enough cooling capacity to properly cool and remove humidity. They also checked refrigerant lines to be sure of adequate sizing. We went with them and upgraded from a 2 ton unit to 3 tons. Great price, excellent service, super knowledgeable team, on time, cleaned up after each day, very neat, did exactly what they said they would do, and more. We had our heat pump with oil funace backup system converted to a solely electric heat pump/air handler system this past week. We did not have even one problem with this company. Phil came out for a quote very quickly and it did take us a few weeks to decide if we wanted to go forward with it, and he answered every question we had very quickly. The whole system replacement took two full days and they arrived on time both days and were very professional. We had a few other quotes before contacting them and they were the most willing to find us a system that would work with our house and our budget. Phil reviewed with me all my options for a new furnace and heat pump and showed me where my old furnace was corroded. I took time to google other companies and prices to compare before I moved forward. The price they were offering was lower than other companies. We were having an issue with our A/C (heat pump) in a house that we just purchased. I called 3 places to see if I could get estimates, but Frederick Heating and Air Conditioning was the first to respond, and Phil was able to come out the SAME DAY! He discovered that our system had not been maintained well, and in fact the refrigerant had been over-filled by whoever worked on the system last. He removed refrigerant, replaced the filter, added a trap, adjusted the blower, and checked all of the vents in the house (several times). And all at a reasonable price. My Furnace gave up on me a week ago, I called Frederick Heating & Air Conditioning. They came the same day and told me that it needed to be replaced and they shut off my gas. They didn't even charge me for that. I must of changed the date of install (3) times and never once did they complain. Ronnie and Phil came as promised, 8am sharp!
