As a non-smoker, non-drinker, I remember those decades, and what a music store meant for musicians. I became good friends with Al, the father and original owner of Thorold Music. It's not the same today, technology and the economy taking society away from live bands, but I see Thorold Music as finding a nice balance to keep the love alive, enough to make me leave my home town of Welland to make it there. I also respect Leo, one of Als' sons who manages the store, as a keyboard player, and every employee there has shown a mature and talented ability on guitar. I wouldn't necessarily say "Woohoo! As good as it gets!", because when I'm not there the light of Jimi Hendrix, who I saw in Toronto, doesn't shine as bright... and... sometimes it takes a lefty to show you the left-handed world.
