He quickly drained most of the water from the tank, helped us get a 46 gallon fish tank as a stop gap measure, then moved the fish. Somehow he manged to save all the fish. The employees were super friendly and knowledgeable, especially Jim who helped us in the saltwater department. They have a lot of beautiful fish, coral and other saltwater creatures. We ended purchasing some cleaner crustaceans at the advice of Jim to help keep our new aquarium clean. We purchased Mexican turbo grazer snails, emerald crabs and a Goby. We also purchased a pair of Banggai Cardinalfish but unfortunately one didn't make it. The only thing I couldn't understand is why the floor was so wet in the saltwater department. The displays of livestock were amazing and owner Roy's personal not for sale tanks were up there with displays you might see at a city aquarium. I am currently setting up a saltwater tank and was looking for live rock with checking out possible lifeforms. The customer service was over and above exceptional, even telling me to give the rocks time to make the tank ready when I mentioned what type of crustaceans I was interested in buying. That they were more concerned with the tank being ready adding creatures than making more sales immediately was mind blowing. Felt more like hospitality than shopping. When I mentioned I lived about an hour away, the owner double bagged with plenty of water to be sure everything would arrive in good shape. I found these guys on the web and saw that they featured large commercial tanks and immense home salt water tanks. I prefer freshwater Discus. Regardless, I shopped around and left VMs at other vendors but only Damon at Shore Aquarium called me back. I think the players are Benson, Colin and Damon. The results are spectacular. These guys know the trade, return every phone call and email, are meticulous in their craftsmanship and couldn't be nicer to deal with. Plus Benson knows Discus very well and I appreciate the expert advice. My tank is a bit unusual since it's fairly small (by today's standards) and fresh water but, at my request, they installed a very sophisticated, scalable control system which is capable of handling any aquatic system I could think of. We are completely satisfied, especially with the way Damon and Benson decorated the tank. They are welcome to use us as a reference.

He helped to diagnose a problem with my pond equipment without even seeing it. The fix required a replacement part and he ordered it. I stopped by Friday to pay for it and pick it up (was told to keep the box and receipt because I had 7 days in case of any problem), took it home, and found the part did not fit. I went back Saturday to return the item and was told I couldn't return a special order. Jim was not there. I left my number for Jim to call me (he wasn't there at the time). When I called him Tuesday he still refused to refund me, claiming that I am responsible for his having ordered the wrong part. The conversation ended with his offer for me to make another trip to his shop, and if it is the wrong part, he would offer me store credit. Poor first-time experience, I doubt I'll be back. That's what I get for trying to support small local business instead of ordering from Amazon...
