Freddy's opened about 26 days ago in the former Dairy Queen at the Best Buy shopping center in Clarksville, Indiana. We avoided it at first because we saw long drive-through lines, but I visited yesterday with my two kids. The parking lot is chaotic, so drive carefully; people don't seem to know how to navigate it.
The Freddy's app offered 50% off cheese curds, so we ordered regular cheese curds. I also tried what I believe was the Original cheeseburger. The order taker seemed rushed and was coughing, which made me wonder if she was unwell. The girl who took my payment was polite. The staff seem young, so be patient and treat them kindly.
Through the window, you could see many staff members walking around, playing on their phones, touching their faces, and rubbing their mouths. That needs to be corrected. They need to wash their hands and lay off everything. Don't touch their faces; don't touch their phones. When they get a break, they can do all those things and then wash their hands.
At the second window, we waited a while before a young man handed me a bag and asked, "Did you order this?" I replied, "I'm not sure, what is it?" He read my ticket, then I drove home to eat. The cheese curds were excellent and were the highlight of the meal.
I went mainly for the burger, a smash burger with very thin, pressed meat. The outside was overcooked and crisp, while the grayish inside lacked flavor. It came with pickles, onions, and mustard; I asked for no onions. The long, thin pickles were delicious and complemented the burger, though they were thicker than the patty. There was so much mustard that it overwhelmed everything. I hope this was a one-off and will try again in a few days, but so far, I'm unimpressed with the burger. read more
