My sons and I walked to Freddo's just for fun the other day. I was craving ice cream and aimed for something local. When we arrived, there were a few others customers, as well as possibly the owner? But I didn't have to wait long to be served. My 6-year-old and I each got one scoop on a sugar cone. Him, chocolate. I, a banana split-like flavor. The gelatos are very elegant for an off-strip location. They're displayed and served beautifully, and, most importantly, they taste fantastic! The perfect balance of creamy and dreamy, you could say. A cool Vespa scooter located in the back, perfect for a photo opp. And a large selection of very flavorful, rich gelato, as well as a few selections of fruity flavored sorbet. Love love love!! Everything was sooo good. The gelato is so sloth creamy, and slightly chewy which I love! We tried the pistachio, chocolate, raspberry, strawberry, and coconut! We ate every last bite. We even ordered the XL so go container to take some home to our other family. The staff here was also so nice!!! So welcoming and we met the man behind the social media, I think he might be the owner too. But him and the man behind the counter were both so welcoming. We were in search for a new dessert place and came across this gelato shop and it did not disappoint! First off the people working there were energetic and welcoming, allowing us to sample the many flavors. I wish I could have all of the flavors but I went for the Philippine Coconut and the Freddo Cookies and Cream. My husband is a chocolate lover so he opted for the Nocciola and Dulce de Leche. Don't be a freddo some good gelato. Freddo is a brand new gelato shop that just held their grand opening this week. Hailing from Argentina and boasting of over 50 years of "passion for quality," they've landed at this modest location in a strip mall not far south of Durango Resort and the UnCommons. A perfect dessert after next-door neighbor Cheba Hut, perhaps? I was greeted warmly by the employees and allowed to sample seemingly as many as I wanted of their 24 flavors (out of the 25 on their company website). I got to try mascarpone (with raspberry sauce), nocciola, tiramisu, dark chocolate (which clearly had sweetness added to balance that out), and "passion fruit" (which is listed on the website as orange, passion fruit, and lemon and makes more sense that way). All the creamy flavors were creamy and all the fruits were rich in that fruit, and that includes the ones I ordered for my large cup ($9.50, max 3 flavors): pistacchio, raspberry, and key lime pie. The pistacchio did have a slight almond-like character but seemed mostly like itself. The raspberry was as good as any raspberry sorbetto typically is. The key lime pie was a bit more creamy than limey as I took more bites, but it was enjoyable. Freddo is one of the only gelato options in town, so I really hope that it survives and thrives. It's worth the occasional splurge because the only better dedicated gelateria is all the way on the Strip. I hope to have many more winning days at the casino up the street so that I can enjoy a treat here. read more

They offer coffee and some bottled/canned beverages with an assortment of pastries. Today we tried the raspberry gelato single scoop in a cup, delicious, sweet/tart mixture 5/5. The tulip waffle cone which comes with a large scoop and a medium one and 3 toppings. We chose the pistachio large scoop, coconut medium and topped it with almonds, caramel drizzle and dulce de 'leche drizzle...epitome of deliciousness! 5/5 This is a great combination that I can see craving week after week. After perusing the pastries, the coconut macaroons called my name and had to take 2 to go. We also grabbed a box of dule de 'leche gelato bars, tried samples in the shop and had to take a box home. Very friendly service, the helper was very nice and encouraging for samples! Right away a PLUS. I wasn't sure how much you get but the cost/value is a lot for the amount of ice cream you get. What I found interesting was that no matter what size you order the cups are the same. But the larger sizes include more flavors/scoops but it is crammed into the cup the bigger choices. The flavors were good but when smashed together like it is served it is hard to fully enjoy or taste the different flavors you ended up choosing. For my experience the tiramisu blended with the cookies and cream and that blended with the last flavor. Inside is super bright and has cute props of Italy including a Vespa. read more

The most popular Gelato brand in Argentina has opened its first store in Las Vegas. We have attended their soft opening and it was absolute success. The atmosphere was very vibrant and the service was excellent. We have met the owner who is from Argentina ,he is very friendly and passionate about his shop. The overall customer service was outstanding. We have sampled a several different flavors and it was really hard to choose from, because they were all delicious and flavorful. We chose a large cup that comes with 3 scoops and the flavors were: pistachio, tiramisu- A MUST TRY!, patagonic white chocolate, philippine coconut, nocciola. They offer a lot of different amazing flavors and they are all made fresh, natural ingredients and free from preservatives. They serve only a high quality gelato. Basically across from Durango casino, a very small gelato shop serving craft gelato. They're very nice to let you sample any flavor you want without any fuss. Any given day it looked like they had over a dozen flavors to choose from. The roots of this gelato started in Argentina and made its way to the states. I tried the 90% cacao chocolate gelato, you have to ask for it when I went they had it in the back, with strawberry gelato. I really like the 90% chocolate gelato. We sampled several flavors and loved so many we had to get a triple scoop in a cup. That's when the worker suggested we get the packed small for just 25 cents more which allows us 3 flavors packed in a portable easy-to-share container. The worker said the most popular flavors were freddo cookies and cream and anything dulce de leche. My husband, who spent an entire summer in Argentina in his youth said the dulce de leche was rich in flavor just like how he remembered in Argentina. We opted for the pistachio, stracciatella, and nocciola. The gelato is creamy and packed with flavor. We will definitely come back to try more flavors. Didn't actually try the gelato. There was one employee working and a family of seven ahead of us. The employee was finishing up with a customer who proceeded to assemble his affogato at the payment counter instead of a table and ended up making a mess that needed attention. I could tell it was going to be a long time before receiving any service. However, that's not why we walked out. The entire gelato shop smelled like fresh diarrhea, it was absolutely disgusting! Not sure if someone got sick in the restroom or what, but we could not stand another second in there. I saw Freddo on an IG reel and knew instantly I wanted to stop in with the fam. Minimal preservatives gelato from Argentina? Count me in! This is quite a drive for me. I went in the early afternoon, and it was a good time as we were the only ones visiting at that point. The interior is brightly lit, minimal aesthetic and pleasing to the eye, with the gelato casing drawing you in like a moth to a flame. We were immediately welcome with a smile by Matthew, and offered to try as many flavors as we like. I was pretty bummed that the one I really wanted had just sold out, the pistachio! Luckily, Matthew's kindness and the other flavors more than made up for it. I decided on a takeout container that was 1lb of 3 flavors for $17, for my selection we chose marscapone (which I was told is like a strawberry cheesecake) freddos cookies and cream, and the very creamy strawberry, and a cookies and cream milk shake. All of the flavors were really good, but that creamy strawberry was the star for our family. It really is very creamy and probably one of the best strawberry ice creams I've ever had. I love the concept of it being stored in a cooler, which worked perfect for me since with the traffic it took almost 40 minutes to get home, and my gelato was in perfect condition to be enjoyed with my family. I will definitely be back to get more of that creamy strawberry, and hopefully try the pistachio! read more

For example, I tried the pistachio and it was a bit odd with a bit of artificial flavoring?it wasn't that creamy pistachio gelato that I was craving.
