We have been shopping here several times per week since they opened. Obviously we like the store! Lately we have had numerous interactions with a manager named Paul Wolfe. He really acts irritated and aloof when dealing with customers and employees. In particular the employees seem intimidated when he is around. This isn't based on a one time observation but many. He just does not seem to appreciate his employees or customers. In spite of our many negative experiences with Paul we will continue to shop here and really appreciate the efforts of the other employees. Terrible customer service at this location. Tried to use a 20 percent coupon last week, I asked the cashier if he had a coupon he could scan since I couldn't locate the coupon online. Told me he did, said he scanned it but then said no. Had to go to customer service to fix it. Unfortunately, I got Linda in customer service. She never apologized, complained several times about her job, bit my head because I was tapping my card on the counter. She had no idea what she was doing, kept getting interrupted, took 35 minutes to get my change back from the coupon. I went to this location last year to get glue for wedding invites we were making for my daughter and I was followed around very closely because apparently I look like a shoplifter at this location. I generally go to the Hwy99 Fred Meyer but this one is larger so I'll stop in here from time to time. Is there ever a time when they're NOT stocking? Makes me nuts to constantly have to navigate around the big carts and boxes. Now that they've added the personal shoppers, it's just that much worse. Never had any issues here with finding something I need. The staff are always nice. Overall the store is super clean. Groceries here may be a bit more pricey than some other places but they have many local fresh vegetables and fruit and you can't go wrong with that. read more

Fred Meyer's tend to all be the same. The Salmon Creek Freddies is pretty standard. Pro's - Reasonable prices - Close by and easy freeway access - Everything is in one place Con's - HORRIBLE parking lot. - Prime parking spots dedicated to electric cars? This lot is totally crazy and busy anyway, but now quite a few spots are unusable? - Slow Pharmacy, that despite many times asking, still prints my name wrong on my Rx's. - The produce is awful. The produce at Winco is much better. read more

This review is for the PHARMACY DEPT. This is the worst pharmacy I've ever gone to. They have told me two separate times in the last month that my sons insurance doesn't cover a prescription. Each time it was a different prescription. (Many years ago this was the closest pharmacy to my sons doctors office).They said it is over the counter and tried to sell me the Kroger brand. The first time they told me that, I called the insurance and let them know the situation. It turned out that the warehouse the brand goes through was having flooding issues and to go to a different pharmacy that goes through a different warehouse. So I went to my pharmacy at Target in Hazel Dell with no problem. Why couldn't Fred Meyer pharmacy tell me this? Greed and indifference to the customers would be my guess. I gave them a second chance. Again they tell me to buy their brand because it isn't covered. I switched my son to Target pharmacy in Hazel Dell and they did cover it again with no problem. read more

Sometimes I go to this Freddie's rather than the one closest to me as it is larger and has wider stock. However, the service is abominable. It's staffed by a bunch of lazy teenagers. No one seems to hold them accountable. I arrived around 1pm on a Tuesday, this particular day. There were a few large carts, no smaller carts and few baskets. I went to to the deli, and while there were easily 6 staff members working the deli, only one was serving customers. One woman was literally jumping and waving her hands yelling "yoo-hoo" to get a staff member to acknowledge her. While I'm not that rude, I waited for about five minutes and just left. At the self checkout, the attendant was chatting it up with someone she clearly knew, while I waited for staff assist in my machine. I'm just disgusted with this place. My review is for Fred Meyer Clicklist (Salmon Creek location): I always hoped that a store would do something like this when I was working 50+ work weeks. Someone did finally start it (thanks Fred Meyer!), at that point I was no longer working my crazy hours but I was a mom of a newborn and recovering from a c-section so Clicklist was a godsend. I live by the Hazel Dell location, but will still use Clicklist at Salmon Creek if our schedule is packed and I need one less time consuming thing on my to do list. The Clicklist employees are always nice and they get everything loaded up quickly so I can get on my way. They lose one star because I wish there was an option to click on for using paper bags instead of plastic. Paper bags with handles! They hold so much more than plastic, and I come home with so many plastic bags from Clicklist (some with only 1-2 items in them). read more

Horrible parking Coupons that you earn through your reward card is a JOKE! We shopped there tonight and wanted to use a reward coupon for so much off the purchase of $2.00 or more of bread, rolls, buns. We decided to use it towards the purchase of two loaves of Dave's Killer Bread. The cashier said we couldn't use the coupon because we didn't buy bread. What??? We had two loaves so we politely pointed it out. She said yes that's bread but this coupon won't work towards bread from the nutritional section. It only applies to bread from the main store. What??? Main store? It's all the same store and the coupon didn't say that. Bread is bread or so we thought. We purchased it any way but Wrong oh wrong Fred Meyers! I wouldn't give this Fred Meyers jewelry Dept 1 star. The worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I purchased a ring in Gresham at the Fred Meyers there for my husband as a anniversary gift. I was told that if the ring does not fit that we could take it back to any Fred Meyers and exchange it for the correct size no problem. I also purchased the matching bracelet with insurance on both items. My husband needed a larger size and since we live in Salmon Creek he took it to this location to exchange it. When my husband showed up with all the original paperwork including the receipt, the ring only bought ten days ago and had never been worn. They said they would have to order one in his size which was perfectly fine. But they made him pay full price for the ring. IT WAS A GIFT AND I HAD ALREADY PAID FOR THE RING. They informed my husband that because they had to order one that they had to pay for it so then my husband had to pay for it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I ALREADY PAID FOR IT. IT WAS A GIFT. Then informed my husband that he would have to give the ring back to me to take back for my money back because it was purchased on my card. Then let's top that off with they charged him an extra 20 dollars for the tax. UNBELIEVABLE. What kind of business are you running. The worst customer service I have ever witnessed. I needed some prescriptions filled and went to Fred Meyer. I was shocked at the price of generic prescriptions. When I got to the car I looked up the price at Walmart and was angry. I took them out the door so could not return them. I went inside and they matched Walmart on two of them. Original price was 290.00. Got next month at Costco and paid 32.00. They have inflated prices like Walgreens to get money from insurance. I have no insurance. Go elsewhere for drugs. read more

I like it... super convenient - always great service and familiar faces. They allowed me to return some beers I didn't like for full refund, and the deli counter people are always nice to me. It's been a good neighborhood grocery store and they have ideal hours and keep their produce high quality. Love the new gas station too to utilize the fuel points. read more

Every time I go to pick up a prescription there is always some issue. It's not ready (after two days), they are out of the drug (and they don't bother to call), or there is a huge long line and no extra checkers. Time to find a new pharmacy! read more

Well, my family and I shop here quite often. I really like the self checkout for quick trips. The staff is helpful and the produce is usually good. We bank here, use the pharmacy and the deli. Basically, yes, it's one stop shopping that has added a liquor store so...not sure how you can beat that. If the marijuana law passes will they add a shop for that here too? read more

I'm a fan of the "big box store"/all-in-one approach to consumer goods - more stuff in one place makes it faster to shop, and typically means less driving, saving money + environment etc. The downside to Fred Meyer is that their prices seem to be sky high, at least on the `daily' goods that I sampled - no point going here when a Walmart is just down the road. One example - Fred Meyer claims their "normal price" on a 12-pack of Diet Mtn Dew is ~$8, and it's on `sale' for $5 - when Wal-Mart sells a 12-pack for $2.88. I can see the difference and value-add between a Wal-Mart and a Costco, I have a hard time seeing the value-add of the Fred Meyer. This particular Fred Meyer is undergoing construction - hot foods counter is currently closed until August. One positive for this location is that the checkout lines tend to move pretty fast. read more

This is towards the Jewelers department since I don't have a option on choosing. -I'm really disappointed that my engagement ring was in bad shape when I got it back after being resized two different times because they didn't get the size I was supposed to receive. I thank Anna who was very helpful when I came back in to show her what the problem was but now I had to get a whole new ring because my last engagement ring was could not be fixed. I'm pleased I was able to get the same style ring back but I'm sad this will not be the ring I was proposed by my fiancé with. I was told I would be called to see and they never got back to me, so called them back and the lady I talked to was rude as well. Let's just say I felt customer service is poor and they need a better way of communicating with their employees so they're all on the same page. I don't think I'll ever go back to Fred Meyer Jewelers after this experience. read more

Used to love this store but since the re-model, I spend way too much time looking for things. The layout makes absolutely no sense. It's like they had kids design it. They also sell mostly their select brands, and have very little of anything else. The parking situation is a joke as they have far too many spots for disabled and electric cars, which are always empty! WOW, they finally lost me and my family as customers ever again. Remodel should have meant more shelf space---and there is BUT the shelves are ALWAYS unstocked and empty. Went shopping at 9:00 am on Saturday morning. Could not navigate around the numerous vendors with boxes all over the aisles. I experienced this at least 6 times in the store. The kicker? The vendors think we should get out of their way--we customers are a real intrusion. Multiple vendors on aisles laughing and visiting while blocking the aisle so that I have to say "excuse me" and wait. The bathrooms are the worst I've experienced in Fred Meyer--quite disgusting. Between the stockers and Click home shoppers, it is unbearable. Who is managing this store??? Epic poor management. Even the employees agree. Stockers should stock prior to opening hour on a busy Saturday! Just common sense. I was finally livid today. I am done!!! What a sad shame. read more

I will not go in this store again. Even the parking lot is terrible. I went in this evening to purchase adhesive dots for my daughters wedding invitations;,while I was comparing the different ones that were available and speaking to my daughter on the phone to get her input, a store employee strides up and parks herself directly next to me. She takes a label off something and attaches it and she then just stands there. Totally invading my personal space.After deciding which adhesive to purchase, I hung up with my daughter and turned to leave the area, the person who was still standing within inches of me, asks me if I need help with anything" maam", her tone and body language conveyed that she was irritated, it seemed as if she suspected that I was there to steal (I was wearing my sweats and sketchers, after all). When I went to the next aisle over to return the adhesive that I was not going to purchase she followed after me. I then went to pay for my purchases and stood in line for an excessive amount of time while the clerk went on and on chatting with the customers in front of me. Finally, it is my turn. the cashier doesn't even say hello, is very annoyed as soon as I show my Oregon ID, asks me if I want to be exempt from paying the tax, well yes. He then tells me that he has to fill out the form (as if it is a huge inconvenience for him, turns his back to me to fill it out and does not say anything else to me until he hands me my receipt and tells me the coupons aren't anything. read more

AVOID FRED MEYER JEWELERS AT ALL COSTS. I purchased a brand new $700 solar powered watch from them that couldn't hold a charge. I tried to bring it back, they said they could not take it back, even though it was less than 2 weeks old and I had the original receipt and all boxes/documentation. They said I needed to give it another couple of weeks for the charge to "take." I waited, putting it in the sun to charge, ANOTHER two weeks, and it still didn't work. So I tried again to return it. They THEN said that it was too late to accept returns! I told them I had TRIED to return it two weeks earlier and had been refused. They didn't care. It was their "policy" and they stood by it. Fuming, I tossed the watch onto the counter and said it was a piece of junk, that they could keep it, as I had no use for a broken watch. You know what their parting words were to me as I left? "You don't have to be so rude about it!" Otherwise a pretty good store, busy, especially good fruit and vegetable department, but man, i've never seen a worse jewelry department ANYWHERE! This store is not being walked by managers to see things not happening that should be happening. When i run into problems at your store, they reoccur frequently. Italian Roast Coffee Beans. Always out when i want them. I have to stop at Albertsons to buy and grind this product. Krogers Traditional bacon is out more often than on the shelf. Coffee creamers are a problem. Especially Pepperment Mocha and Hazelnut. And often there is one on the rack and still at the very top. Too far back to reach. Doesn't anyone monitor that enough to see and help those kinds of problems? You seem to hire kids as managers. That's not all bad if they didn't act like kids. However there are exceptions. I found one yesterday. I won't go into the details. It just makes me think that there must not be anything in place to cause the employees/managers to worry about reprisal from poor service. You folks need to take a close look at yourselves. You stay busy and that seems to be enough for you to step past any need to improve on overall performance. But you need to improve if you want to keep all of your customers. I'm really ready to switch to Albertsons. They are friendly, helpful and their shelves seem to be well stocked. You may have them beat on some pricing, but that is not as important to me as availability and customer service. You're getting swallowed up by Krogers in more ways than one. Soon you will have their Consumers Reports rating. And if you noticed, yours is not much better. It used to be much better. read more
