I go out of my way to come to this particular Fred Meyer. There are so many reasons why. First up is just entering the store. The parking lot is not a mess and I can always park very close in an available ADA space where as the other locations are full up usually or the spaces are arranged so that if I park there I regret it as I will have another car nearly block me in. The customers seem a lot friendlier too - perhaps because the store is sort of not in a very public location but I have witnessed some insane stuff at all the other locations and never had drama happen here. Getting PTSD while grocery shopping is a definite goal for me. This is the only store where I have had numerous, very sweet customers offer to grab things for me and even just say excuse me or be lovely. I try to use a motorized cart as I have a tissue disorder and this store always has carts that actually work and are charged where other stores have broken ones. It is the only location that seems to have great customer service, almost a shock. This last visit, I had so many persons who work there go out of their way to come up to me offering to help. It is like that every time I go there! Also, even just that they do not flood their aisles with stock and obstructions throughout the aisles. Since I am in the motorized cart, it is VERY much appreciated since I am already awkward. Great produce! I do not feel like I need to micro inspect everything I get in produce and the meat department. So many locations I have accidentally grabbed meat about to expire and veg that is super questionable. Also, look at that 'damaged' fruit and veg rack - I got 2 lbs lemons that looked perfect to me for $1.50! They had a bag of gorgeous sweet peppers for $1.50. read more

Went to buy some dry ice. The lady (nice & polite) at the self-checkout was struggling to get the block out with her glove. I grabbed a paper sack and proceeded to help her. Got the first one out, while reaching for the second a brusque voice behind me: "DO NOT TOUCH THE DRY ICE!". Look and see some disheveled guy in a sweat shirt glaring at me. "Who are you?" I asked. He stated he was the store manager and repeated himself. 1-I'm not a 12-year old kid doing something he shouldn't; 2-you don't talk to a customer in that manner, regardless; 3-you do not have your store manager running around looking like the freezer repair guy. FM charges 10cents for the cheapest, flimsiest grocery bags out there; FM charges a ridiculous fee for cash back with an ATM card (no one else in Portland does); FM quality of produce has been steadily declining, while their prices are some of the highest, near what the organics charge. Fortunately, we have other options for shopping out there. read more

I typically have a great experience. the only time is when one lady, who is typically behind the customer service counter. She has unnatural hair color and I think she is an assistant manager. She is ALWAYS rude and short with me. Which I don't mind because I'm used to it in Portland. But she makes it obvious by treating the person in front and behind me with courtesy and kindness. Once I get up there, it's "what do you need" while others get "hello, how can I help you"? I can't help but wonder is it because I'm Black and she is a racist? That's the only thing that makes sense at this point. for years she has been rude, curt, dismissive and nothing less than racist. While most people report, I just record and will publish the full story on social media To warn people of this woman who obviously hates Black People. Typical in Portland though. read more

My family has been shopping at this location for 30 years. We could once count on the best fruits, vegetables and meats. That is no longer. We have come home more and more consistently with rotten melons and blue berries. Lettuce is weepy and bad. Their Beef Roast? THE WORST! Expensive and nothing but gristle. Again! These items are not cheap. I called the store to express my displeasure. I don't get the sense there is much that will be done. So do what you will with my review. "Putting profits over customer satisfaction and health!" should be this store's motto. read more

Stopped by the Tigard store to pick up some ready to eat chicken and grabbed a Resers potato salad at the same time. I never looked at the price until check out and it was $12.99 for the salad. At Walmart the same Resers is $8.99 and at Winco it is $7.99. The lesson learned is that you can't just blindly shop at Fred Meyers assuming they will treat you fairly. This wasn't just a slightly higher price it was ridiculously higher. I should have just walked away but I really wanted the Resers salad for my lunch. If I had a choice, I would not shop here because they're almost always out of something or the other. From frozen section to vegetables or dairy or meat or even from the dry goods section. Alas, the location is convenient for me so I do tend to stop here quite often, but nearly almost all of those times ,I have to stop at another grocery store later in the week . This isn't my everyday Fred Meyers, but I do stop in when I'm running errands on I-5. It's one of the smaller stores which I really appreciate. The one on SW Barbur is closer to my house but that store is so massive it takes forever to find items and go from the produce area to the health and beauty section. Forget about heading even further to housewares and seasonal! So for this reason, I shop here because it's faster and far easier to go in, get what I need, and be done. Even though it's smaller, they have all the regular departments, the store is well stocked and parking is easy. I always go through self check out And lines move fast. read more

I've been shopping here for 10 years now and every time I go to the self check-out I get treated like a thief. The cashiers are standing around talking and laughing to each other until I come up to the register. They see me, an African-American women checking out and all of a sudden they are on high alert. They stand right behind me, so close it feels like they are breathing down my neck. I used to just ignore it, but I can not any longer. It is starting to make me agree! It is obvious that they are watching me because of my race. I have stood and watched White people go through the line without being treated in this way. I'm sick of it! I will never go there again. From now on it is WinCo and Walmart for me. At those stores I get treated like a valued customer, not like a thief because of the complexion of my skin. Also, at Fred Meyer Raleigh Hills the prices are too high and the quality of the produce has gone down. Sadly, it is no longer a good shopping experience! read more

Kroger brands displacing name brands throughout the store - and inferior in almost all cases. Service at this location has really dropped over the years. Exceptions are the fruit and vegetable, and meat counter staff. Was struck by employee at self-checkout who said she didn't get paid enough to know or care about my question. Another time I had a question on an aisle and was told "I'm on break". Okay then. And the pharmacy is unbearable. Long lines and regularly waiting a week for a Rx fill and then getting a voice mail that I have 2 days to pick it up. Happy to take my biz to Grocery Outlet and Winco at every opportunity. read more

This review is about their pharmacy and their Corporate response to my complaints about the pharmacy. 1) You can never know if their drive-thru is going to be open or not. They will even tell you there is zero predicability for customers who have chosen their location because it's the ONLY Fred Meyer drive-thru within a huge radius. 2) They take forever to process prescriptions. 3) Their answer to most questions is "I don't know." Even when you ask WHO does know? 4) I was given incorrect information about a medication I was being given for the first time. Seriously WRONG information. 5) When a change of insurance required me to transfer multiple prescriptions to them they completely unhelpful getting the info from Walgreens who they said was not responding. Walgreens of course claimed they did everything that Fred Meyers asked them to do. A circus! 6) When I complained to their Corporate Office the response was 1) Sorry 2) Nothing we can do about it 3) I don't know! If possible avoid this location and thank the Lord you can walk into another place and don't need a drive through Fred Meyer pharmacy! read more

But if I want to buy a bottle of wine or a Bic lighter here I have to extract my drivers license from my wallet so the checker can scan it to make sure I am not a 16 year old disguised as a 72 year old. I am a lifelong Fred Meyer customer and have always been a huge promoter. But now, I'm having to rethink everything due to the national meat brands they are now stocking under Kroger. The loss of Foster Farms chicken and Carlton Farms pork is a game changer changer for me. I refuse to buy Tyson chicken and will now have to buy my meat products elsewhere due to this change. The quality of this store has gone way downhill the past few years. Half the produce is rotten. They are constantly out of products.

This store needs to step up their quality service in the produce department. Shopping recently for green peppers and half of them were soft and rotten still laying on the counter. Some were squishy and brown. Half of the plastic bag dispensers were empty. Only 1 man working to fill produce. Kroger should be worried with so much competition out there. read more

I'm not sure if he's the manager in that department, but he sure holds himself like one and has given me great service in his actions and responses. Answering all my questions as this is the 2nd time he's helped me. This morning I went into the pharmacy to pick up a prescription that was called in by my PA two days ago. They first told me that they did not have the item, then said to wait while they checked. The woman came back with it but it was not ready for me to pick up. She said to come back in thirty minutes. I went home and the call came from the pharmacy later, indicating that it was ready for pickup. I went back to the store to pick up the prescription, arriving at 6:01 PM. The gate to the pharmacy was partially closed but I walked in to see if I could still be served. I was told that they were closed, even though there was still a customer at the counter being served. Upon exiting I noticed a sign saying that they closed at 6. I count this as poor customer service. read more

It's now just the standard, when they give you a time, know that it's not going to be ready then. Waited today for an hour and a half and meds still not ready. They basically said they didn't know if they had time to fill it and I could just sit and wait. Nevermind the fact that I've already received texts saying it's ready. During a lunch visit I noticed a woman and child in the produce aisle, the mother was carrying a guinea pig in her arms and the kid was feeding it bits of vegetables. I was a little alarmed by this as I'm not a fan of having rodent feces around my food. I approached a nearby worker filling am order with a name tag that mentioned was was an "Assistant Sales Manager". I said "Hey, there's a woman over there and she's carrying a guinea pig around with her, and feeding it food. I don't think that's something that should be happening." His response was "Well, we have to be very careful about people and their service animals, we can't ask them about that." I responded with "There is no guinea pig that is a service animal. It might be a comfort animal, and comfort animals are not protected under the ADA." He said something else that was dismissive and just an excuse to shirk his duties to maintain a clean store, where I reinforced that he should address the situation. After I walked away I noticed he took zero action. So, this is the kind of store that this place is. So when people get the hanta virus or the plague, just remember my review was here. read more

This review is for the pharmacy Picking up a prescription for the dog ordered at another Fred Meyer. The Raleigh Hill's Fred Meyer pharmacy closed 2 hrs before this pharmacy. Thought it would be no problem picking this prescription up at another Fred Meyer since the one we ordered was closed two hrs earlier than them. Tried to pick this up at Beaverton Fred Meyer, they were able to see the prescription ordered at the other store. They could see we didn't pick it up and it was ready and everything about this prescription but they would not give us the prescription? Will not order a prescription from Fred Meyer again. I could see if this was a completely different store, say Walgreens that I ordered this from but it's the same chain of stores! read more

I signed up online to be in their rewards club. At checkout, I told the cashier I have the coupons that I clicked on. She said roughly I have to have your rewards card. I said I don't have a card. She said I can't give you the discount without your card. I said I signed up online they didn't give me a card. Then she asked, what is your phone number? I gave her my phone number and she said that works. I asked, why didn't you just asked for my phone number? She said because it's called a rewards card. This place gets a 5 stars due to their friendly staff and the work the company does for the community. This isn't my neighborhood store but I have to come through here for work sometimes. The staff are so incredibly nice to me whenever I speak with them, and the coolest part is that they hire quite a few people with disabilities here. Not only are they making my day better, they are improving the lives of those in their community as well. Plus, the employees seem genuinely happy and like they are enjoying themselves at their job- I never see that at Safeway! Indescribable nightmare. This FM pharmacy is SIX DAYS BEHIND fulfilling prescriptions. By their own admission. The people are lovely -- also overwhelmed, understaffed, frazzled. It's abusive. I cannot imagine this is even legal. I went without a daily medication for four days. I finally drove there & sat in the lobby for 2.5 hours to get it & another filled (also after them having had the script for 4 days) -- they informed me AFTER having me sit there that the med was not in stock. BOB NEEDS TO BE FIRED. He is seriously the rudest most unprofessional manager/employee I have ever met in my entire life. This is the 3rd we've came in he's rude to not only customers but employees. Today we came in to grab a few things. We asked an employee if there were any other brooms. He said no he would look in the back or possibly in the garden center. He got on his walkie and asked if it was still open. And Bob replied with yelling "EVERYONES ALL TIED UP!!!!" he repeated it multiple times so loudly that I could hear it two aisles over from where the employee was standing. All the guy was asking if the garden center was open or if he needed to have someone get a key. I don't remember the guys name who was helping us but he was stocking stuff in the cat rea and he was tall and had long hair and piercing blue eyes he was very sweet and I feel really bad that BOB is his boss. Being spoken to like that over a walkie where I'm sure other people can hear is really embarrassing and unprofessional and just plain rude you don't speak to people that way. It wasn't that much to ask. He was just doing his job. And he had amazing customer service unlike BOB!! Something needs to be done about him. He's the literal WORST. I don't always buy diamonds while buying sourdough, but when I do, I buy my diamonds with bread here. I don't even, this layout. This one and the Barbur location are just challenging to find things, but this one takes obfuscation to a dedicated, professional level.. Even within a given category (e.g., frozen, kosher, or "international"/"ethnic"), both locations confuse and confound. Would give 2 or 3 stars for that, but, honestly, most of the checkers are competent, efficent, and genuinely nice, and that matters! Layout, though: 1 star. I don't want to have to rummage through Lesser White Wines of Alsace to find tinned green chiles or halvah. Butcher department: 5/5. They're killing it, every time, every day. I can always point out the ways in which Fred Meyer's stands a bit above other big box groceries, but lately there has been a HUGE disappointment concerning produce. It's not the price hikes, but when you couple those with the very short shelf- or refridgerator-life of things like zucchini and lettuce . . . well, I eat a healthy diet and have to count on decent produce that lasts a reasonable amount of time. No more.This is a big disappointment and will likely send me to another store. This is a great location with awesome grocery selection and quality. There is a Fred Meyer Jeweler located inside as well, and almost every time I go to this specific location, there is a male customer in drag (a different one each time)...that's not really a plus, but does make the trip more entertaining to say the least. I saw some leave poor reviews regarding customer service and such, but when I go to a grocery store, I simply do my shopping, pay and leave...not really looking for high quality customer care...so I have not ever been disappointed by the CS at Fred Meyer. Prices are a bit more than at Winco or cheaper stores, but quality is often better. You can join the Fred Meyer Rewards program which I highly recommend and get discounts on many store items, and earn points to save on fuel at Fred Meyer gas and I believe at many if not all Shell gas stations. read more

This Freddie's Marketplace is NOT closed!!! Au contraire - yesterday's SUPER school supplies extravaganza (read two elementary school girls aka must-have-exactly-what's-on-my-teacher's-list) puts this Freddie's back on my fave list. We found everything on the list and with the sweet little goldenrod-colored rectangular 'Froupons' (BOGO) walked away with a decent haul and the knowledge that my d-i-l was not going to have to head back out after a hard day's work to hunt for the odds 'n ends we didn't find. Sure, we were pooped after our late morning excursion. BUT went home fully armed with the knowledge that the lunch items we purchased at the same time from the same place (it's a Freddie after all) would soon revive us. Love Freddie's!!!! It's kind of the diet coke of Freddies. It's a bit smaller, and to thrive in the smaller space, they've cut a few items off the shelves and removed the furniture department and clothing. Or at least I didn't see furniture, not that I was looking for it. They do still have indoor and outdoor garden. Only planned on taking about 15 minutes or so, as we were already in the parking lot. Just looking for a few loose items. Was going to drop the kiddo off in the play space for that few minutes, more for his own sanity than ours, so we didn't have to strap him down into the cart. The policy is 2+ of which he's only 20 months. We didn't mention his age or try to resist, only there for a few minutes anyways. Seems like the property hasn't received the latest updates and cleanups many of the other properties have around town. The other locations are much brighter and cleaner and more organized. People on the sales floor still stopped to check in on us. Checker was distant, but still nice enough. Average transaction from an early 20 something likely making at or near minimum wage. I want to give 3.5 stars, but because my complaints are trivial I'll round up. The place needs a remodel and an upgrade to the lighting that makes the place feel dingy. The parking lot is squishy and the staff seems like they could all use a cup of coffee. read more

I have been shopping FM for years - since I was a kid and would go with my mom, actually. this location is a good one - Peets coffee inside, fresh organic produce section, those cool new SMALL carts (they need more, please get more!). I like to go early morning or late night - when it is not crowded. the hours are 7am to 11pm, so this is ideal. read more

When I think "Freddie's," this is the place I think of. Fred Meyer has really moved itself up in the world, and since the recent(-ish) expansion, this place is even better. They have a great selection of cheese, wine, and beer, and their deli is nothing to be sneezed at. The food and produce are all good, and their selection on the non-food items is good, too. Prices are competitive, but the good stuff is never cheap. I'm glad they lost the Freddy Fall-Apart crappy clothes (my friends & I used to joke about FFA junk our mothers would sometimes buy for us). The overall quality is good, and the prices are reasonable. If you live nearby, you really ought to shop here--even though Fred Meyer was bought out by a national chain (Kroeger's) some years ago. read more

I am new to the area and am very happy to have found this store. The pharmacy had no problems filling my prescriptions when my prior doctor contacted them. The employees are all willing to help me find items, etc. The customer service department is very efficient also. My only request would be a "guide" to the departments in the store so the customer does not have to guess where the items are located & wander around & back track a lot. Update - as stated I like the store, but I purchased one of their cherry pies for $5.00. It was a laugh!!! Mostly a cherry goop filler with a few cherries & the crust was terrible. I was embarrassed to serve this to my family. I will not be purchasing one of these "beauties" again. read more

I went to the butcher to get Carne Asada with my partner, so we walk up and are waiting for the butcher to walk over and greet us but he didn't. we waited 5 minutes to see if he would walk over until we decided to go and say "Excuse me". my partner said it loud and clear, even walked over to the fish where he was standing. The butcher was clearly pretending to not hear us until he walked into the kitchen, but before going through the doors, turned around and gave us a nasty look. I was livid. He walked back out and continued to ignore us, folding plastic bags. I walk away with my partner, fuming. Right after we walked away, a single lady walked up and he helped her IMMEDIATELY. I just wanted my steak. I talked to a lady in produce about it, she's amazing (forgot her name but it said "Garlic Mann" on it haha). She sympathized and apologized and said she would pass this along to HR and management. Not sure if I want to come back here after getting blatantly discriminated against. read more

Came in to buy stuff for a trip but didnt buy anything. I happened to look at the eletronics and inquired about the flat screen TVs, which were reasonably price.
