I kept wondering what Fred Meyer was. It kinda sounded like a car salesperson. But it's like Target's distant cousin, Walmart's uncle. They have clothes, stuff for your home, and food. There's also a customer service desk in the middle of the store where you can get your lotto tickets. Prices seem to be average. They didn't have what I was looking for. I did get some water. I believe Fred Meyer was a real person. This store has been around here for a very long time. Always has the same exact, welcoming and open atmosphere. The people always seem pleasant when helping and there's always signs to find what you need. If they don't have a sign for what you need then most likely they sell that at Walmart. Fred Meyer seems more like a Family store. Their selection of clothes is bare minimum in some spaces to be straight forward BUT also very excellent options depending on what you are going for. Lizzy just filled my tank here.... I first offered greeting then asked how her day was going. No response I knew right off she was having a bad day. She rushed me to get my gas cap off(it's keyed and kinda takes a trick so I do it). I got it off said please fill premium but on slow so it doesn't spit out (it's a classic car...). I begin washing my windows I hear the pump stop and spit on my car... no biggy. Go dip the window washer and get some water on the area so it doesn't strip my paint. Lizzy comes rips the window washer out of my hand stands on it and rips the head off saying you can't do that now I have to throw it away. I said well if you would have put it on slow I wouldn't have had to do it. If she was going to throw it away she could have at least let me finish right? I came to Fred Meyers while I was vacationing in Oregon. Since they don't have Fred Meyers in California, I was pretty interested to come here. Anyways, this store is really a one stop shop place for a lot of your needs. You can purchase food, clothing, gardening items, etc. This store kind of reminds me of a super Target or a Wal mart, but with a better selection of food (like what you would find at a Ralph's or Albertson's or something). Fred Meyer also has a gas station (but I would have to say that the Costco down the street has cheaper prices on gas though). I love that Oregon does not charge sales tax, so I saved a little bit of money when I purchased a cute shirt in the ladies' clothing section. There is plenty of parking here, but the wait for cashiers can be long (but not surprised, as that is the norm at other markets and stores). read more

Passing through Oregon and made my first stop here for some fuel that quickly led to my departure and looking for another gas station. I pulled in and around to a empty pump to fill up my vehicle when I was quickly met with a young punk employee half way in my door as I opened it immediately screaming and yelling at me that my car can't be faced this way that it needs to be turned around like the other cars which made zero sense since I pulled in with the pump on same side as my fill port on my vehicle. Why have back to back pumps then? He continued to yell and tell me to get in turn around and stay in the car as I can't pump my gas. What kind of Oregon 19 century non sense is this??? Apparently this gas station doesn't do a good enough job in training employees in how to approach and talk with customers. Instead I took my money elsewhere and so should you, unless you want to get verbally assaulted and potentially physically assaulted by these young punk employees that have no business in customer service. I'm not a regular shopper at Fred's. We are having guests for dinner and I was on that side of town I thought I'd give it a try. I spend a long time picking out the fruits and vegetables along with other Items on my list. I needed to use the restroom so I parked my cart in a lesser used Isle across from the restrooms. There was a sign on the door that said closed for remodeling, use restrooms in the front of the store. So I hobbled to the front of the store ( I had a major hip revision last year) only to find out that the temporary restrooms are at the "other" front of the store, which is the side entrance. So anyways after a long painful walk across the length of the store with a VERY full bladder, I went to go pick up my carefully curated shopping cart full of tomorrows dinner. It was not anywhere to be found. I contacted an associate who said she would ask around. Long story short I left empty handed never to return. read more

I shop at this Fred Meyer frequently due to the fact that it is on my way home from work. On average I have a great experience, with gas attendants, checkers, the bakery workers and the deli, produce and meat workers as well. Today I had a bizarre experience that left me incredibly uncomfortable and upset. I saw a homeless gentleman who I see frequently and have spoken to quite a few times because he hangs out near where I work. He is always kind to me and has never once asked me for anything. Today I saw him in the store and he ordered something from the deli, grabbed a small bag of oranges and water and then went to self checkout to pay. I left my cart by the frozen pizzas and called over the lead woman cashier who was manning the area and I asked her to ask the man if it would be alright if I payed for his groceries. I told her that the reason I asked her to do this for me was so I did not embarrass him by asking him in front of other people. She said no, he has money. I honestly was shocked that, that was her response, replied and said that may be true but I still would like to pay for his groceries, please go ask before he's done. She straight up said no again and that he comes in every single day, he's fine. Then I stood there completely disturbed by her reaction said, I don't care, I would still like to pay for his groceries if he would let me. At that point he finished up paying and she said, oh looks like he's done, clearly annoyed. I stood there shocked and incredibly angry as she walked away. I walked back to my cart just completely baffled by what had just taken place. Forgot what else I needed And I walked across the store to check out near the garden area. My cashier was very kind and I asked her, if I wanted to pay for someone's groceries/etc is that against store policy? And she said absolutely not, they would just have to agree to it. I explained the situation and she knew the homeless man I was referring to and the woman who was working the self check out area. She offered to call a manager and I said it wasn't necessary because I knew I would write this review. I have to say, that this was by far the most heartless and disrespectful experience I've had in a while and it shook me for oh so many reasons. All I wanted was to pass along a little kindness and pay it forward. I am honestly disgusted by this situation. Fred Meyer's mission statement is this - Mission, Vision, and Values of Fred Meyer. Mission Statement: "While our stores change with the times, one thing stays the same - our commitment to Customers." This was absolutely not inline with that mission statement. I suggest a serious conversation be taken place. Remember your COMMITMENT to your customers. read more

The clerk who was stocking items was very kind and considerate in helping us find an item that we could not locate in the store. He took the time from away from what he was doing to assist us. The store cashier that checked us out was upbeat, friendly and had a very positive attitude. We had such a great experience that I felt compelled to write this review. I live in Los Angeles county, but I was visiting family members in Oregon.. When I had asked my niece Nicole if she could take me to Fred Meyer's, because I had heard about it before from her and a friend of mine! I wanted to see what it was exactly! So we went there... I thought that it was alot like a Super Walmart, but just much much nicer! A Fred Meyer's is kind of like a Target, JC Penny's and Albertsons all mixed up together in a mixing bowl and thats what comes out.. Fred Meyer. Hehe! We went to the jewelry department in front and they cleaned our rings for free! That was nice.. =) My niece bought some cute toddler clothes for her son! I bought two brownie bites from the bakery (one peanut butter and one chocolate mint) My two favorite flavors! They were so yummy! =) The people that worked there were friendly.. I didn't encounter any problem while I was at the store! They were announcing over the intercom that they were giving out free gifts over in a certain section of the store! But we didn't end up going over there! My niece had a feeling that it was a knife demonstration and they want you to buy knife sets! But I guess they give you a free mini knife to take home? That sounds pretty cool though! That is a good neat idea though.. It is a good idea to give away free gifts, it does help to market a product and up the sales of an item when you do that! =) read more

The ladies in the Apparel department are AMAZING they go above and beyond to get you what you need if they don't have it they'll call around and see if someone else does and either ship it to the store or hold it there with your name and you can pick it up. Even severely short staffed all of them always have smiles and great attitudes. They're very low on product right now due to being heavily shopped so please be kind when you shop!! Compared to the south Fred Meyer off Center Drive, this store is a lot older, but recently remodeled and is very similar in layout to the south store now. The Chase bank in store branch is much better than down south, and they seem to have more of a grocery section. Love the fact that I can pick up six packs of Snapple Apple here - we can't do that at Kroger-owned Smith's in Nevada. Their pharmacy is also awesome, and with the new website, it's extremely easy to transfer prescriptions between Kroger owned pharmacies (especially Smith's, which Freddy's owned before they merged with Kroger.) Gas price tends to be a bit higher than the other store - also, some items can be cheaper at Walmart, but I find that Freddy's has a lot of stuff that Wally World doesn't. read more

I went in at 6:20 PM this evening to purchase some fried chicken and mashed potatoes for my son and me for our "boys night" where we get fried foods when the mom is not home. I grabbed a container of chicken, the mashed potatoes and checked out. Got home and the chicken container said "fresh from our oven at 3:30. So it sat, drying and cooking under a heat lamp for 3 hours. It was dry, burnt and discusting. Sad to say greasy, gross KFC would have been better than a deli at a grocery store that generally prides themselves on quality. Called in and the manager was pretty flippant quoting, yes 3 hours is okay standard for chicken to sit out, then offered to refund if I brought the receipt in. For me the issue was not the credit... But the standard of being okay leaving chicken out for hours to become burnt and dry just to save $$. read more

I tried to get a refill of a prescription. Instead of filling it they called my doctor to refill a drug I didn't request. My doctor denied it. I called in using the prescription number. Days pass and I hear nothing so I go in and they hand me a medication I did not request. 7 days has passed now and they still won't fill my prescription I have 5 refills on and have requested 3 times. They need to not have a pharmacy anymore. read more

This Review is for the Fred Meyer Gasoline Station. Regular was priced at $4.03 per Gallon yesterday, and "cheap" by California Standards. Gayle and I were on our way to Crater Lake and Freddy's was right off the main road. Costco was a few cents cheaper, but with much less of a line. My only usual complaint was how the "Mini-Serve Only" law in Oregon usually gums up the flow and speed of service. read more

Decent selection and location at this Fred Meyer, and it's pretty nice in there. However, every employee I encounter in here seems to hate their job. I live close by so I'm probably in here once a week or so. Take this evening for example. Express (10-items-or-less) lane. Cashier charged me twice for an item, then became visibly irate when I noticed and pointed it out, saying that it was my fault for not "picking it up offa there" after she scanned it the first time. Uhh, okay?! I know everyone has long days, and I know firsthand how it is to work retail -- it can suck sometimes. I also really try to go out of my way to be pleasant and make things as easy as possible for retail folks because they catch enough crap on a daily basis. But come on! Put in a little effort here. Was gifted a Fred Meyer gift card several years ago. Just got around to using it and the balance came up incorrectly when we went to check out. ($40 instead of $100). The manager came over to see what was wrong and went above and beyond to help. Turns out, it was a Visa cash card with a depreciating value after 12 months of inactivity. Love Fred Meyer's grocery - starting to HATE their gas station. We pulled up first out of four other cars, and were ignored by both the attendants. The guy who pulled up behind us started to fill his tank by himself and one of the attendants rushed over. He looked straight at us and walked away to a different car. When one finally came over and started to help us, he left again before even beginning to fill our car and helped the guy behind us.
