This used to be my usual Fred Meyer before I moved to Seattle last year. I was up in Lynnwood running errands and decided to stop in for nostalgia sake because I need a money order! Boy, I'm glad I did. This is one stop shopping. For real. This Fred Meyer has been renovated since the last time I was in and a gas station added. The aisles are super wide and the grocery aisles are no longer awkward. I was very pleased to see that the customer service desk has not changed. The ladies working this counter were very quick and friendly. At least 8 people were in line ahead of me including a screaming 2 year old. I zipped thru the line waiting no more than 6 minutes to purchase my much needed money order. I shopped in most of the departments in the 2-3 hours I was there. My only disappointment happened in the hardware department. I was specifically looking for the peel and stick picture hangers which my friend tells me are called command hooks. I didn't see them in the picture hanger section so I asked the lady who worked in the hardware department where they were. Rather than walking me to them she kind of blew me off and said down that aisle across the way at the very end where the two older people are standing. It would have been nice to have her walk me to it and sell me on these but alas that didn't happen so I'm taking away 1/2 star away. They are starting to carry more gluten free items which is always nice to see in the mainstream grocery stores. This is the Fred Meyer I've known for the last 20 years. It fits like an old glove. Sure, it's Lynnwood and the shoppers are stereotypical Lynnwood people. The thing I really like about this store are the friendly and helpful staff, some who've been here for a long time, like David at the door or the sweet Indonesian lady at the self checkout who actually speaks better German than me. This is a moderately sized Freddies unlike the monster Freddies up at Alderwood. The store was renovated a couple years ago or so and now they have a fueling station. I have not noticed any significant changes since Fred Meyer was bought by Krogers, the national supermarket giant. It truly is one-stop shopping at any Freddies. read more

I go here when I visit my brother because it's the only grocery store near him that I know how to get to. It has a little of a lot of things, but not as much selection as I'm used to. It's not that bad, but I've always thought it was relatively overpriced - but maybe food is just cheaper in Chicago, I don't know. Plus, they ran out of regular limes over Fourth of July weekend - how lame is that! I managed to make do with Key Limes, but they're kinda weird to work with and have a lot more seeds than normal limes. Anyway, not bad so I'm giving it three stars but I don't especially like it for some reason. read more

My biggest gripe is the deli..it is open until 9pm but stops cooking by 7pm? My hubby and I work everyday until 6:30 and grocery shop every Thursday so we look forward to picking up a quick and easy meal. By 7:45 pm all hot food is packed up. Are we the only ones who want hot food after 7? Otherwise this is a good good store, friendly cashiers and not a long wait to check out. read more

Well the pharmacy staff showed no sense of urgency or any compassion. Lack or communication about what is going on between pharmacist and technician. I chose this one right after doctor appt on my way home out of convenience but it turned out I spent almost 2 hours in here while trying to ask the pharmacist and MD to talk to each other. I love this store. I shop at Costco and here. That's it. Prices are great. Employees are awesome. Nice lighting makes place energetic. This store has it all. Like a mini-mall. Sushi, deli, optical, electronics, bank, gas station, pharmacy, jeweler, Tully's coffee, Redbox, and everything else connected (mini/strip mall stores). But, overall I love the selection, the employees (who are awesome always and I mean always after 13 years of shopping here) and great prices. Keep up the great work. A treasure of a store. Very disappointed. I ordered some deli food for pick up on Thanksgiving but when I came there yesterday for the scheduled pick up, the store was closed. They didn't sent a notice before. And when I was there, I met some other people for shopping and pick up because they also didn't know the schedule, there website didn't say it will be closed early for the holiday. Then I went to some other place for thanksgiving giving dinner. I came here today again because I thought U can still get the food if it still here and I went there with a small luggage. When I about to leave after the checking out, an employee stopped me only, because I had a luggage and I was asked for checking the receipt. She didn't asked other customers and people came with bags. POOR SERVICES AND I FEEL UPSET. read more

I was very impressed with this Fred Meyer. It struck me as a slightly classier version of the (similarly pronounced) Meijer stores in Michigan. Though this store was possibly even larger. When one steps across the freshly airconditioned threshold, one has the distinct impression that none of the four or more supporting walls separating the inside from the outside of this megastore are even visible to the naked eye. It seems quite possible that one could possibly shop and shop and shop till one drops of exhaustion or, God forbid, myocardial infarction (MI) - not that it would take much for the average half-triglyceride-half-human American these days (or for political correctness sakes'- should I say people suffering from height-weight proportionality dysfunction-itis)....Anyhoo i digress... Because I have terrible low-light vision, I appreciated the glaring brightness of the lighting in the store..helps me see everything more clearly. It was about 10:30pm and the store was clearing out except for me (because I really didn't have anything better to do, and I had a list of impulse items I may or may not have needed to buy) and apparently hordes and hordes of shoplifters judging by the way all the employees were sketchily following me around like I was about to rob their grandmothers' caskets of every family heirloom they ever had. Not that it particularly bothers me.. I'm no thief so they can waste their time staring at me all they want.. In my mind they just want to ask me out on a date (a self-image boosting technique i recommend to ANYone, no matter how much height-weight proportionality dysfunction-itis you have). So I picked up a bunch of things I may have thought about needing once upon a time while i was napping, all at great prices really. I have a new shopping philosophy that I won't buy anything thats more than 10% more expensive in store than it is online after I scan the barcodes into the RedLaser or Amazon PriceCheck apps on my smartphone. That 10% is to mitigate the likely shipping costs I would be likely to incur if I did buy online instead. It's literally the only budget conscious thing I do as I am otherwise completely dense and/or lazy when it comes to saving money. As 60 minutes turned to 90 and I had only covered about a 5th of the store and the dude on the intercom was broadcasting increasingly whiney messages about the number of minutes and seconds left till store closing, I made my way to the exit, nervously trying to underestimate how much my totals were going to be. Alas, it was about what I expected.. The prices were good, but I ended up just buying too much crap. I would honestly recommend only going to this store if you know 100% what you need, have a firm list in mind, don't have kids who'll get distracted by the (many) shiny things that they'll beg and plead at you for for eternity. Another tip is to dress well otherwise the cavalry..i mean sales team will treat you like a possible criminal and whatever you do, DON"T STAY PAST CLOSING! They will act like you're keeping them from hearing a loved ones final words on their deathbeds (possibly the same one you're wanting to steal heirlooms from!). I come here a lot. Its a good place to get gas for a decent price, although it can be a bit crowded at the tanks. There is both a BECU atm and a chase branch at this location. I also really am a fan of one stop shopping. I like the clothes and shoes here. Sometimes good sales can be found. Its a place my boyfriend and I can both agree on for doing our grocery shopping. There is a larger section of natural foods than at some stores. Plus you can get other things done like getting a key made. There are self checkouts. Its also nice that there are various entrances and exits to the store so you can make it a little easier on yourself if you are just running in and out. My biggest complaint is that it is a little hard to leave the parking lot and head off in any direction you choose, but eventually you get used to this. read more

Being from Texas originally and a faithful HEB shopper, I wanted to find a store similar to them after moving up to the Seattle area. I have shopped at many Fred Meyer locations now, and they are great. I like the rewards points, helps out with my gas budget!! I love that there are many locations to choose from. I go to Fred Meyer a lot, mostly because it's within walking distance of my apartment. As a one-stop-shopping store, they do carry quite a variety of items... however, the selection for specific items can be lacking. (They don't even carry Heinz Chili Sauce!?) They don't carry specialty items, either, other than the holiday decor. I guess they're going for the guaranteed sell. I commend them for carrying holiday decor up until the day has come. It's sometimes hard to figure out if they have certain vegetables or not... Sometimes, I end up buying from their organic section because I just cannot find the specific vegetable in non-organic. If I HAVE to have it, I end up going to Top Foods or Ranch 99. At the very least, whatever vegetables and fruits that Fred Meyer does carry look somewhat healthy and fresh. (I cringe at the produce in the two next nearest stores: Safeway and Albertson's.) In the end, all general, every-day shopping can be done here... happily enough, with service and quality. This is a huge FM location, and they tend to be well stocked in the grocery store section. They don't have an abundance of meat alternative options, and the Kroger house brand is not consistently reliable. This location usually has pretty long lines and not very many staff on the floor. The parking lot can be complicated to navigate during rush our. I will say that this is a clean, well-maintained store. The aisles are free of packaging/shipping debris, and they have a significant inventory. I tend to find what I am looking for regardless of what section I am in, and the gas perks can be worth it. read more

Great store hours, huge selection, and my favorite - UNADVERTISED SPECIALS. This is a very family friendly store. They offer no-hassle returns and price matching (but FM is usually the ones that have the best prices). I go twice weekly (sometimes 3x a week). It helps that Chase Bank is in the store with later banking hours. The staff working here are nice and engaging. They tend to be a little understaffed at night though (when I prefer to do my shopping). Kroger is a good generic brand too. Overall, Fred Meyer has become my favorite store and place to gas up! I shop there once in a while. I recommend to buy there fish, cakes. Meet, veggies and fruits are Ok. Here are some nice choices. Try here a sushi. Not bad at all. mm-m Cakes are usually good and pies too. :) I love their marionberry pie. I am not sure how to spell it right. Parking is normally bad here, because is always busy. Older staff is so sweet but sometimes it seems they are just disrespected by the younger staff. Younger staff constantly goofing around and talking to others so much that they are unable to bag. This store is HUGE! Every time I enter the place I feel like I'm at an amusement park and am not going to be able to figure out where I parked my car when I leave. The staff at this location are pretty friendly and helpful. One day I was getting annoyed because I couldn't find a particular sandwich bun I was looking for. An employee obviously saw the look of distress on my face and asked if there was something I was looking for. After telling her what I wanted she says, "Oh, I have some of those in the freezer. I'll bring some out for you." WHAT? She totally lifted my spirits and saved me from having a crappy shopping trip. Each week after checking out my receipt includes a link to a survey I can take to earn more fuel points. I always complete the survey because 1.) I want the fuel points and 2.) I want to tell them how I think the layout of the store is awful. Regarding the layout, there is a middle aisle that cuts through all of the other aisles and it creates a lot of unnecessary traffic and confusion amongst customers. I would rather walk down longer aisles without the possibility of running over a small child or elderly person. Other than that, my only other complaint about the place is that they never have regular Cholula. They're online coupons kind of suck too as they're mostly for junk food. Good things about Fred Meyer: Fuel points, there is a Chase bank and ATM located inside. I don't have to travel to Target to pickup things like envelopes, shoe strings, or other items. read more

Best thing about this place? It's a 5-minute walk from my parents' house. Especially when there's a snowstorm and you don't feel like driving anywhere, you can seriously get everything you need in one place. From electronics (including DVDs and video games) to gift wrap to clothes to sporting goods, this place is seriously one-stop shopping. It's like Target with better clothes (although I'm not sure I've bought any clothes here) and a much bigger grocery store. Not only that, there is also a teriyaki shop and a barber shop connected to the store. I've had many good memories of Fred Meyer from my days living in Washington, and my recent visits during the snowstorm have made me once again appreciate it again. The customer service is great, everyone is very warm and friendly and it's a great place to buy a gift. Seriously, you could walk in this store and get easy gift ideas without having to deal with the traffic and crowds at Alderwood Mall. read more

Solid 3.5 stars, for a Canadian, I much prefer FM over Walmart's; has a much better shopping feel, not so office-like, more homier feel. Find the food and wine selection shopping experience better. I was shopping here since I moved in this neighborhood. I buy here mostly food and some garden stuff. I come here to order my glasses too and I have had really nice experience. That ad on TV... This Freddie's has been there forever. They used to have carnival style rides at the start of each Summer in the parking lot in the early 70's. Rock-O-planes anyone?? There is nothing great or awful about this location. They have a ton of stuff here - a little of everything. Prices are about what you think they should be. This place is huge. Fred Meyers is Fred Meyers and yes, 99 percent of them are the same. But i have to give it props for how clean it is and the extras it has - Starbucks, Chase bank, for example. Some, not most but some aren't so clean. This one appears to be very organized especially in the clothing section. There are more than enough employees here and they have always been friendly and engaging in my experience. I was once employed by Fred Meyers way back in the day and this one blows the socks out of that one. The food selection is huge and the meats are very fresh. And the parking lot has never been a mess in the times I've been there. This has been a problem in many of the others I've been too. There is a baskin Robbins there as well and an incredible teriyaki place. Maybe this deserves 5 stars but i cannot give it because of a few other Fred Meyers i have been to in Oregon. Pretty good for a Fred Meyer but the weirdos made it bad. 4 stars for the cleanliness and customer service. Jennifer in the jewlery department was awesome even though another jewlery worker in there was laughing at something hopefully not us she never strayed from helping us and going above and beyond. Babe and I browsed the store and perused the aisles. Found a few things. Went to checkout the liqour department and it was crawling with creepy characters like a guy who wouldnt stop talking to himself and underage kids. This place attracts a lot of riff raff but I wasnt worried. Store was well organized and cleaned. Downside was people smoking right outside the door but this store has what you need. I would say the apparel department has a lot of empty spaces. It may not beat the other Lynnwood location in a lot of categories but it does have the nicer associates. Lots of good deals in housewares. One thing I should mention is the lady at self checkout was looking at us like she was confused when I asked about a certain coupon they usually have for housewares. Jewelery department rather small but huge deals. Got a pair of diamond stud earrings and a new watch with a warranty for less than 200$. :) Electronics department was spacious and well stocked with helpful employees. Parking was good. Completely incompetent and rude staff here. I called ahead to see if an item was in stock because the Bothell store told me they had some. So I call the lynnwood store to ask them to put it on hold. The associate, Nicole put me on hold for a significant amount of time, then the phone started dialing (which is what happens if you're on hold for too long - the phone rings like a new customer. She forgot she left me on hold.) she picks up and tells me there are none in stock. I didn't trust her since she sounded stoned and didn't even seem to remember she was helping me out. That being said, I visited store to look for myself. I arrive at the store and find not one copy of the game I was looking for, but the two that I was told by the Bothell employee would be there. The lynnwood employee, Nicole did nothing to help me as a customer and probably didnt even try to look for the item which was about 20 feet from where she was standing. When I get to the store, another electronics associate, John gets the game for me. I hand over coupons and a rewards rebate I just received in the mail. He's not welcoming or friendly to me at all. Apparently I had already used my rewards rebate but I don't remember doing so. He tells me that there's nothing on it. I said "really? because I just got it" he rudely says to me "well that's what it says" I check out and exit the store. Keep in mind during all of these interactions, I was very friendly. As a former employee of Fred Meyer, I know how discouraging a mean, snide, or otherwise negative customer can be. So I always make a point to be cheery and friendly when I shop. I was mistreated by both of these employees and will never shop here again. I advise others to avoid here as well read more

I really like this Fred Meyer. I like the location, the layout, the food prices, the paint department, the electronics store, the excellent barber shop right outside. They even have a bank inside and a BECU cash machine outside. Great fried chicken, great baked chicken. The people are great as well. Very friendly. We go there at least once a week. I was in this store yesterday and I believe I encountered the worst customer service I've EVER encountered... only now that I'm writing this, I just now remembered the VERY LAST TIME (last year) I was in this EXACT store, in the same department, I was treated very rudely by a completely different employee. How weird. It must be part of their training. Okay, here's my story: I can't even wrap my mind around the experience I had in this store yesterday. I was so angry when I left, I was shaking. I went in to purchase two pairs of Skull Candy headphones, a 37" LCD TV, and perhaps one or two DVD/VCR Combos, depending on the prices and selection. I was prepared to spend about $1000. I walked in, looked through the tvs, grabbed the headphones, and went to speak to an associate about the tvs. I walked right up to the woman who looked like she was in charge. (My receipt says her name was Angela.) Unfortunately, as soon as I reached her, another guy reached her, and she gave her attention to him instead. He had an armful of stuff and asked her if he could leave it at the register while they went to go find what he was looking for. It was the only open register except the Ticketmaster one, so I waited in line for the girl (Anastasia) who was working the TM counter. At the time, I was the ONLY person waiting in line. I waited a really long time. The man buying tickets took forever, and after he got the tickets, just stood there chit-chatting with Anastasia. Angela and the other customer finally came back, but then they had to ring up all his stuff. At this time, full lines were forming on both sides, behind both me and him. Angela turns to me and says "she can ring you up in just a minute." Then she pauses and asks "Do you have more shopping to do first?" I said "No, but I do have a question." She turned back around and I kept waiting. Anastasia finally finishes with the chatty man, and I moved forward. I set my headphones down and asked her if they carry the Panasonic LCD flatscreen in a 37", because it was the size I had decided on in my search online, but could only find the 32" and 40" in their store. She said it was all they carried. I asked if more sizes would be available on the website, and she said no. I said "Okay, well then for now I'll just buy the headphones." She said "I can't ring you up here." I said "...? But the other lady said you could ring me up in just a minute." At this time, Angela turns around and rudely says "I SAID she could answer your question." (Which was not AT ALL true, because it was only after she said Anastasia could ring me up in a minute that I even said I had a question.) At this point, Anastasia mumbles something like "hold on," or "let me just..." I don't recall her exact words, but she turns and walks off. I didn't know if I was supposed to wait for her, or follow her, or what is going on, so I just waited. I kid you not, she then walks straight over to a register on the far side of the room, smiles brightly, looks at the customers waiting in the line behind the guy Angela was helping and says "I can help whoever's next!" At this time, all the people behind me in line start walking over to her, while I loudly say to her "Um, I think that's me!" She ignores me. I walk over to her and she's just finishing answering a guy's question and asks who's next. I say "Are you just answering questions or are you ringing people up?" Without even looking at me, she says "I'm just trying to help whoever needs help," or something like that, and then turns to the guy behind me and asks what she can help him with. I'm still standing there holding my headphones. I totally went out of my way to go to their store. If it weren't for the fact that I did not want to deal with it again, I would've just left. As it was, I went back to Angela, who was finally just finishing with the original customer, and I bought the headphones. She condescendingly says to me while she's ringing me up "Thanks for your patience," because she can clearly see I'm PISSED. I don't know what the hell was wrong with these people. I am not at all a confrontational person, nor a violent or angry one, but it took all my willpower not to just throw the damn headphones on the counter and storm out. I told you, I was literally shaking with anger when I left. This ruined the ENTIRE rest of my day. I'm angry now just relaying it to you. When I retold this story later to my sister, SHE got angry and it put HER in a bad mood. This was reprehensible customer service anyway, but the fact that not only was I there to purchase a flat screen TV, but she knew I was, it is truly mind-boggling that she would seem to deliberately go out of her way to mistreat me. I don't think I've ever had a customer service agent be as blatantly rude to me as this girl was. I think they were both rude, but Anastasia's behavior was incomprehensible. The customer service at this location is terrible. I recently experienced a problem and took the time to outline my concerns with the store manager (about 6 weeks ago). To date, no one has had the courtesy to respond. The district office's response was "you'll be contacted by the store manager soon." I have moved my shopping to other grocers in the area whenever possible, as I prefer to spend my money where the retailer understands that I do have choices and that customer service (or lack thereof) is often the distinguishing factor is where money is spent. read more

I read all the great reviews of this store and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately I tried it on a Sunday afternoon. Sunday shopping in this area is almost always bad but this place was a bedlam! The store was filled with rude unconscious shoppers running over one another and blocking one another's progress. This isn't the store's fault but shopping there was dreadful. This is one of those places that I'm seriously conflicted about. It has some pretty good pros and some disappointing cons. Pros: - Nostalgia. I too have been coming here since I was a wee one. It really hasn't changed much since then (I remember the indoor remodel, but the outside still looks like it hasn't been touched in a few decades...) - Great natural/organic/vegan/gluten-free selection, for being such a major store. Better than many of the other chain grocery and all-purpose stores. They totally just expanded their gluten-free products, as well. Woohoo! - The dude that stands at the grocery door during the day always seems genuinely happy to see you. Somebody should give that guy a raise, because I guarantee he deserves more than he's making. - The clearance sales can be really good, if you know when to go and have enough time to look through everything. - THE CAR CARTS! You parents of small children know what I'm talkin' about. - Wide selection of good quality products. I can dig it. - Two lanes of self-checkouts (as opposed to the shiny Mill Creek location, which only has one. boo.) - I'd say it's pretty centrally located. Cons: - I hate the parking lot. I really do. The grocery side is just weird. The hills and the crosswalks and the automatic door on the opposite side of things is just terribly coordinated. It's a HUGE pain when it's busy and you're trying to get to your car with a cart. Especially with one of the aforementioned kiddie car carts. Ugh. The opposite side of the store isn't much better. - It's a corporate chain. My own choice to shop there, I know, but I'd chose Freddies any day over Wal-mart or K-mart, and the like. Still, automatic disapproval, that's just the way it is. - They always seem to NOT carry the most random of things. I never fail to find a recipe with an ingredient that Fred Meyer doesn't have, but I can find without a problem elsewhere. I do not appreciate. - Their toy selection pretty much sucks. The games and puzzles aren't so bad, but the toys are useless. Unless you happen to like plastic light-up toys that make loud sounds. Even Target has much better choices. - I got seriously hassled by a Herald (Everett newspaper) employee in there once. Why they let that guy set up camp in there just to hassle their customers is beyond me. It was bad. - The prices... ehhhh... could be better. Some stuff I just won't buy there. They tend to have good sales, though, so I'll shop around that. All in all, as far as "one stop shopping" places go, Fred Meyer seems to be the least evil. Or so I hope. OMG, You would NOT expect a place like Fred Meyer to have BOMB A$$ fried chicken! And to top it off, 8 pieces are only $5.99!!! I SWEAR this chicken is D-LISSSHHH!!! It's also less greasy than most fried chicken out there. My Mom & Grandma keep telling me to try it and I finally did when I went up there this past weekend. This Fred Meyer is the closest to home. They usually have great prices on groceries when they are on sale. Everything else that they sell is not worth it. The electronics, home dept, and clothes are all way over priced and I would never frequent this place to purchase anything other than the food items. This is a pretty good sized store and its overall dirty looking like most fred meyers and I really hate the parking lot. They are set up for accidents to happen. The Jewelry Store at this Fred Myers has horrible customer service. DON"T USE THE JEWELRY STORE! Went in for new batters for 3 watches and a new watch band. Spent about $60.00. No problem with the batteries but the counter guy, Rimon Aziz, was responsible for switching out my watch band. He looked at it, said what size it was, found a new one that I liked, and had the watch guy put it on. I left. Several weeks later I went to wear that watch and it turns out the band was too short. No problem. I go back to get it replaced. It's obviously new since I never wore it. Problem: I didn't have my receipt. So Rimon supposedly tries to look me up on the computer. I shop at Fred Myer all the time, yet he says I didn't come up in the system so he says he won't replace the band and that it was my fault because I should have tried it on at the store (I was wearing another watch and it didn't occur to me that the band would be so challenging). Then he admits that he didn't measure the length. He assumed that since I'm a women I would need a regular band length and not a long band. So had admits that he got the length wrong but he still wouldn't replace the band and says to me that I would have to buy a new one. Ok I know that the jewelry store is not required to swap out the band since I didn't have a receipt but seriously how much does it cost them to do this simple swap? Especially since Rimon admits he didn't bother to measure the length. I can't understand why the jewelry store wouldn't be willing to make this simple change which really costs them nearly nothing and instead they and the Fred Myer have lost a customer for life. The disrespect (assuming that since I was a women I should wear a regular length band and not a long) and the lack of willingness to make the wrong right is so frustrating. Please do not shop at this store. Rimon Aziz you are rude, disrespectful and lack any degree of customer service. read more

I was super surprise of the produce department. Everything looks fresh (like QFC'S Produce dept). I bought some Asparagus and usually they are so thin and nasty. But these were thick and long. And there strawberries right now are on sale $1.88 a pak. They smell delicious and tasted yummy! Great service. read more

This is my local Fred Meyer, five minutes from the house. This is an old school Fred Meyer, it's not as big as the others around town. There is no gas station at thus one, they also opened a new one on 164th down from the Walmart which is much bigger and has a huge natural/organic food section compared to here. There use to be a Cinnabon in here but it has since closed, at least the Baskin Robbins is still here. read more

What's not to like? It's one-stop shopping. Grocery store, home products, vehicle products, clothes, jewelry, video/audio store, outdoors section, kids section, pharmacy, etc. Note: - This location was updated within the last year and contains a very clean grocery store with good looking fruits and vegetables, and consistently decent prices. - This location also contains a vehicle licensing office. - There is lots of parking. It's a huge parking lot. read more
