Dr. Fred Lee is an excellent dentist! He saves your teeth without emptying your wallet. *Background* My previous filling fell out which made my opened up cavity and that filled it with pieces of food every time I ate. This bothered me and so I looked for a new dentist because I wanted dental office who also spoke mandarin. One day, I found a dentist office on Yelp. I called and the receptionist told me there's a dentist can see me right away. I was so happy. I immediately drove to the dental clinic and was seen right away. This young dentist asked a technician to take X-rays. Upon a very quick (almost instant) assessment, the dentist stated that I most likely needed root canal. I was shocked because I did not have any pain at and the filling was only missing for 5 days! This receptionist at this clinic quoted $3,170 even with excellent insurance. She acted like a sales representative pushing for many items not covered by insurance. She said I needed a crown, a root canal and some type of laser treatment (not sure why?). If I agreed on the stop, she can discount me for $2,300 and she can approve me for 24 month financed credit. I was so confused when I left because all I had was a small chipped tooth. *Enter Dr. Fred Lee* I found Fred DDS dentistry in the same shopping plaza so I went in for 2nd opinion. Dr. Fred carefully examined and confirmed my tooth only need a new filling and confirmed there's no need for root canal since the X-ray clearly showed it was just an old cavity on surface. He filled it up and ended up with only $40 (or less I forgot since it was so tiny amount compared to another dentistry) out of pocket. I still have no pain or issues. I *HIGHLY RECOMMEND* Dr. Fred Lee's dentistry. He is very skillful, qualified and honest dentist! You really need a honest doctor for your health. I almost lost one fine tooth for root canal if I didn't find Dr. Fred Lee. I learned that it's very important to get 2nd option in medical treatment. It's a rare find, an honest and skillful dentist. It's very important to weed through your dentists as they can be shady. Dr Lee provides his patients with quality. His regular cleaning is basically a deep cleaning compared to other dentists. I have been to other dentists, and they never clean my teeth nearly as thoroughly as Dr Lee. I try to see Dr Lee every 6 months for preventative care, and it has been great all these years. I have been going to Dr. Lee for a cleaning once every year. Despite the far distance from where I live, my experience there always makes it up. I never really liked dentists, but with Dr. Lee, I am able to get the cleaning I need painlessly and fast. Great with cosmetic dentistry but not too good with root canal. He does thorough cleaning and his prices are reasonable. I had a chipped tooth crowned by Dr Lee which later became infected. He did an incomplete root canal which was later detected by another dentist via X-rays. He couldn't detect a fourth canal and should have referred me to a specialist. The incomplete canal became a lingering infection and I had to redo the root canal using a specialist. He's a great general dentist with a nice attitude and disposition but it doesn't hurt to get things done right by an endodontist. Update (2/2018): other dentist pointed out that the crown I had done on one of my molar by Dr. Lee was not well fitted. There are gaps at the bottom where food may get trapped and cause rotting. I would've never detected it since I had root canal done on this molar. Second, Dr. Lee used a cheaper product. X-rays could not penetrate the metal crown he used so other dentist were unable to see if there were decay. The best would have been to use a porcelain crown. I'm probably an outlier by criticizing Dr. Lee's practice but I putting this out there as a warning that if it happened to me well... read more

Came in for my semi-annual cleaning plus an X-ray and the 30 minute service was extremely detailed and thorough as usual. He's been my dentist for the last 8 years or so and he's great! His assistants are so nice, and accommodating too. The current office is new as well and while I don't know much about dentistry, I do know that he has a brand new X-ray machine so I'd say his equipment is up-to-date. Gone are the awkward plastic mouthpieces always made me gag. Now it's a metal piece you bite and the machine revolves around your head so it's efficient, painless and gag-free! Would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a quality dentist. He owns another office too if Diamond Bar is inconvenient, although I've forgotten where, but it'd def be a good idea to contact him and find out if you're looking for a new (or better) dentist. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Lee for periodontitis for years. This time I needed my wisdom teeth out. I was anxious at first but then the whole process was so smooth and painless. Dr. Lee was very professional and gentle. He numbed my gum mucosa first. Afterward, I didn't even feel it when he injected the local. The extractions came easily, especially for the upper one. The lower one needed more work but I didn't feel a thing. Dr. Lee recommended application of CGF to the open wound, a "growth factor" made from my own blood. Initially I was skeptical. But later I found CGF seems to make some difference. Dr. Lee filled the lower "tooth socket" with CGF but not the upper one, so as to compare the outcomes. Amazingly, somehow later I only felt the pain at the upper tooth bed after the local wore off. Also, the swollen is only at the upper. (Dr. Lee later explained that the upper jaw bone is generally less dense.) The pain came almost 5 hours later and it was about 2 out 10. One Aleve took care of it. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. I want to thank Dr. Fred Lee and recommend him to everybody. read more
