Sharing an update because after all of these years, many oil changes, tire rotations and one open recall, I still use this Toyota dealership for nearly all of my service requirements. My last review back in 2018 was entirely about purchasing my vehicle, or rather, leasing. Since then, I have purchased it out and am still a big fan of everyone I've needed to work with during my service trips. They are fast and prompt and will usually have appointments available within the week. They don't often take more than an hour, and have a drop off service if you need to go somewhere in town and don't want to wait. I usually do because their waiting room is clean, quiet, has bottled water and decent wifi and spotless bathrooms and all together is a great place to bring my laptop and get some work done. Still a great place to go if you are looking to get a car. read more

I purchased a Nissan Rogue cash from Fred Beans in Flemington. Within less than a year the paint on the hood started cracking and became decrepit. They refused to assist or take responsibility. It turns out that I purchased a 5 year warranty on the paint...for $1000. Plus I paid $1995 for "Triton Paint and Fab" My Attorney looked over the contract. Now they are not returning my calls. This is unacceptable. I just thank God that I purchased the 5 yr. paint warranty. Please watch out for yourself when doing business with this company. read more

I stopped in at Fred Beans Toyota to look at a 2025 Tacoma SR5 in Sept 25. They had one with all the factory installed items I wanted. The salesman knocked $2,000 off the MSRP and added a folding tonneau to be installed for $1995. He then got up to see the sales manager to get the "out the door price." When he got back he gave me a sheet that included almost $3,000 of dealer "add ons". Most annoying was a $2,700 Fred Beans creation called Custom Care which included Scotch Gard, Paint Sealer, a dubious insurance policy for lost or damaged keys and a few other basically useless items. They refused to take off the Custom Care add on but offered reduce it's price to $2,300 and threw in the all weather floor mats. Long story short - I walked out and the next day bought the same Tacoma from another dealer for the same price but no dealer add ons and only $1650 for the tonneau installed. I won't name the dealer as I don't want to be seen as a shill but will say that it wasn't Toyota World of Clinton and Newton. Good luck! read more

Service Desk people need to be more respectful, and appreciative customers choose to bring their vehicles to the Fred Beans Hyundai Flemington NJ location. I had an appointment scheduled and as I was checking in w/the Service Team, I was confronted with rude and unprofessional behavior with the service gentleman shouting and telling me I should have told him about an issue that was discovered with my vehicle 30 minutes prior to me arriving for my appointment. Instead of being sympathetic to my concerns, I was berated with what would make his job easier by complying to calling him beforehand with any concerns about my vehicle rather than waiting to I arrived. I will NOT be returning to this dealership, I was made to feel less than a valuable customer and wasnt treated with respect as a valued customer. read more

Honestly, I'm not even sure where to begin. My son was interested to get the used Corolla GR that they have in stock. We are very ready to buy today, even brought my checkbook with me. We visited the place today, was walking around on the lot for over 30 minutes and nobody even bother to approach us. Several sales people passed by us and not a word. We finally decided to go inside, again, walking around, checking the cars on the sales floor, still nobody approach us to ask if we need any help. I even walked all the way back to their fridge and got a couple of their complimentary water. Still nobody. The place was dead at noon and not busy at all. You would think they will be hungry for a sale. I finally approached a person standing by the entrance and asked if I we can see the car on the lot. He must be the manager since he instructed a person, Greg, to get the keys and show us the car. Right off the bat, I knew it's going to be bad. This Greg person was not even try to strike a conversation with us. He looks like we were wasting his time. He started the car and I let my son sat behind the wheel, looked at the car a bit, I gave him my price, 35K, looked at me like I have three heads, then said that my price is insane. No other conversation. Not even try to counter my offer or try to convince me otherwise. No sales pitch. The car is listed at 37K. He turned off the car and walked away like we just wasted his time. Again, I'm ready to buy and ready to hear what he has to say but was basically dismissed. I was so disappointed that my son had to witness what just happened. Never again. I wish I can give negative stars because this place is minus five stars. read more

During end of Pandemic Fred Beans dealerships were adding insult to injury by adding a "surcharge" because of the issue in getting additional supply due to chip shortage. Talk about taking advantage. We already has a Nissan from them and had a roof leak. Wanted to charge $800? To correct then when told NOT to do anything suddenly they were going to be able to reduce the cost. really? Chris was professional and informative. We were quoted a price (full sticker price) for a RAV4. While reviewing payment options we noted a 5000.00 upcharge on the sales agreement. Very disappointing experience on Labor Day when I drove 1 hour to this dealership to make a deal on a 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser with 5k miles, untitled which I e fed up buying. Their ad for this particular SUV explicitly said that the vehicle had second row DVD system which it did not. I decided to take a ride down to Flemington - about an hour away. I had inquired to this dealership about a particular vehicle. Phil was on top of it and I received a response from him quickly. I had previously found another Rav4H in Morristown and was about to put a deposit down on a vehicle supposedly coming in soon! Just had a bad feeling about that dealership - SO.... I had my car serviced here awhile back for regular maintenance items. Unfortunately there was a minor ding to the hood after the car was serviced. I didn't actually notice it until a week later. It was very small and I may not have noticed it but I did. I contacted the service department and I was worried they would not address the issue since it had been a week. From my initial conversation, the service manager owned up to it even though they didn't have proof that they actually did it. When i got there a different manager was there and he too wanted to make it right. That's what you call Integrity! Warms my heart to know that there are businesses that want to do the right thing. I had a pre owned certified Toyota Rav 4 from 2011-2017 then upgraded to a Highlander in 2017. I have looked forward to coming into Beans for service every time. Their service staff is honest and friendly. I know enough about cars to be aware of being taken advantage of, and I have never gotten that sense from Beans. Their service waiting area is comfortable with soft drinks, popcorn and coffee available, complimentary of course. No joke, one of the service managers even walked around with a tray of fresh baked sugar cookies once. My toddler enjoys the waiting area and walking around, looking at the latest models of cars. I purchased my initial Rav at James Toyota and got the service contract through them. Once Beans took over, I brought my Rav in for service, assuming I had lost the advantage of the maintenance plan. Service staff did the research for me and ensured i was not charged until all of my service vouchers were exhausted. I felt this was very honest of them. I can't stress enough how happy I have been with Beans both on the sales side and the service side. A particular shout out to Mr. Allen, who is always so professional and friendly. How can I have a milligram of confidence in the latest airbag recall fix when the last one, a 'permanent solution that became temporary' per the service desk representative and manager, was no longer a viable fix? When did the fix become temporary? Why? What happens when the temporary fix fails before the new fix is done? How can I have any confidence that passengers in my car are safe with a 'permanent to temporary' fix and when the temporary fix runs out of its efficacy? How can I ever have any passengers in 5-seat car again? I now own a one-seat vehicle!!! I had my niece and nephews in my vehicle only two weeks ago.... are they 'permanent to temporary fix' viable? Their safety is not a temporary concern. They are not 'permanent to temporary' people. How can I ever feel safe with them as passengers again? After this vehicle runs its lifetime course, I am a former and never again Toyota vehicle consumer. read more

The WORST car dealership experience I have ever had. First of all, my wife, my mother in-law and I walked around the lot for about 20-25 min looking at all the different vehicles without anyone asking us if we needed help. We passed 2 salesmen who walked past us and went back inside the building. We finally went inside and the receptionist at the front desk asked a sales lady to help us out. She sat us down at her desk, and basically did an interview. It felt like I was just going through their website telling them what I wanted. She wasn't very personable, didn't ask us if we'd like to go outside and test drive let alone look at any of the vehicles and then just proceeded to read all of their "low interest deals" off of a piece of paper. Every other dealership that I've gone to has offered me refreshments, taken me outside to the lot, and unlocked several vehicles to look at. The sales lady had a difficult time finding a car for our needs so she called over her manager. Her manager came over and proceeded to tell us that our price range wasn't reachable Bc "it's all up to the bank. We're just salesmen. It's difficult right now Bc every year the interest rates go up and I'm not sure if you're aware of what's going on with our government and the car market right now". My wife looked at him and said "thanks for your time" he shook her hand and said "Cool. Have a good weekend guys" and ran away. WHAT KIND OF CAR SALES MANAGER JUST WALKS AWAY WITHOUT OFFERING ANY HELP??? ARENT YOU SUPPOSDD TO NEGOTIATE??? Overall, terrible experience. Terrible staff. Very impersonable. Did not offer any kind of assistance whatsoever. Will never return. I guess we should have been warned when there were only 2 couples in such a large dealership on a beautiful Saturday in August. Anne Tom is professional, courteous, respectful, and incredibly knowledgeable not only of the vehicles but also when it comes to working out the best financial plan for you. I have bought alot of cars in my life. I would say I can judge a dealership as good as anyone. LET ME TELL YOU THIS! Fred Beans Toyota are the most honest, helpful, caring bunch of people. Brad the Director, Greg the General Manager, Brian Salesman, Eric Parts Manager,Robert Service Manager, and Dave my Mechanic are the best bunch of guys I have ever dealt with. My wife has a BMW, it needed tires she took it to a BMW dealer.They told her she also needed front and rear brakes and rotors, wheel alignment and a tune up. The car has 55 thousand miles on it a 2015 X5. Tires, brakes, alignment and tune up would have run about 4000 dollars! I felt I was getting ripped off. So I called Greg he said come in and see Eric in the parts dept. Eric priced were way cheaper than BMW. I asked Robert Service Manager if he could do the service for me, he said no problem, Glad to help. Greg knew we needed a loaner, he gladly gave us a car for a week before I could get the BMW in for service (One tire was real bad had a bubble), NO CHARGE LOANER for a non Toyota purchased vehicle! Dave the mechanic and I quote said we had over half life left on all four brakes and wheel alignment was spot on not needed. No Tune up! Eric priced the tires at over 100 dollars less a tire than BMW for the same exact tires! WE WILL NEVER GO TO BMW AGAIN! When my wife needs a new car it's Fred Beans all the way! I went and saw a couple of cars I liked but the sales man seemed to show zero interest in working with me. The attitude I received was the next person will come in and pay sticker. There was not even the let me go talk to my manager back and forth. I would have expected at least a token effort and some BS 100 dollar reduction. Brought my 2021 Rav 4 in for a 15,000 mile service. The odometer was at 17,958 miles. I was late in getting the service done. I just moved from Ithaca NY and this was my first visit to Fred Beans Toyota Dealership. The Service Desk suggested I have both the 15,000 and 20,000 mile service during the visit as it was so close to 20,000 and I agreed. Both the services are no charge as they part of the original purchase price. Why was I not surprised that my car "needed an alignment" for an additional $159.88. I was told the alignment could be of because of potholes. I drive exclusively on major highways and would have certainly remembered hitting a pothole deep enough to throw my car out of alignment in a span of 8,000 miles - the mileage since my last service. Perhaps I am jaded because of past experiences but I am not planning on returning for service. I cannot help but feel every visit will "uncover" a must do repair that is not included. read more

We just closed a lease deal with an off brand trade-in on a 2020 RAV4. This dealership had very competitive pricing. It took a total of 2 days from our first contact with them until we took delivery. We only spent about a half hour inside the dealership during the process. This deal occurred during the Wuhan virus Pandemic. The deal was negotiated with Jamie, their internet sales manager, on the phone and via email. She was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the process and pleasant to work with. We closed the deal with Greg, the dealership's sales manager who was quick, didn't try to add to the sale and also a pleasure to deal with. There was a minor post delivery issue that Jamie and Greg went above and beyond to rectify immediately. read more

After weeks of detailed research into the 2019 Tacoma TRD Off Road, I narrowed down my search to a few dealers in the Central NJ area. At this point, I already had in mind what I was looking for, checked the Kelley Blue Book values on fair prices and had an idea of what I was willing to offer after looking at and considering many new and used deals in the tri-state area. It is unfortunate that I chose to come to Fred Beans due to the experience I had yesterday. Although the internet sales manager was very helpful, the actual salesperson was very arrogant, unprofessional and condescending during the negotiation process. I did not feel respected as a customer and was spoken to like I did not have a clue about the vehicle that I was ready to purchase right then and there. This has got to be the worst negotiating experience I've had at a dealership, I felt more berated over questions that are fairly typical while negotiating - so much so that I actually left after he implied that my offer was stupid and to give him a chance to take my offer to his manager to see if "who knows maybe he'll do something stupid". Loud obnoxious laughter could be heard from the back office. The ad associated with the vehicle also listed false information (i.e. - parking sensors indicated but the truck did not have) which is consistent with what others have noted below about inconsistencies in their listings. The only positive is that I left and went straight to Crystal Auto Mall in Green Brook, NJ where I got a great deal and brought home my new Tacoma TRD Off Road last night. They were willing to meet me in the middle of what I offered and made sure to present all options. I highly recommend them if you want to be treated with respect and as a valued customer. They even went so far as to match my pre-approval from my bank with an APR lower than what I was looking for just so I didn't have to go through all the additional paperwork after. This was a huge miss and a loss on Fred Bean's part in not being professional enough to work with me on earning my business. Granted, others have had positive experiences but perhaps they just had a better person helping them out? read more

I was told before going to Fred Beans that I should go to the Toyota dealer in Princeton. I was told better deals and nicer people. My plan was to sell the car to Carvana for a good deal and purchase a new car. I didn't need a salesman, Toyota's sell themselves. Well I was offered a trade in deal I couldn't refuse. When I apologized for not cleaning out the inside of my car the salesman said, no lie..." don't worry some Mexicans will come and clean it." with the condition our society is in now I couldn't believe my ears. Fred Beans Toyota is a huge improvement over James Toyota, whose dealership they took over. James claimed lowest prices and that they'd show you their invoices to prove it - but that never happened. They were high pressure and manipulative, plus they could get nasty when challenged - good riddance! Fred Beans sales people are friendly and open, as well as much more transparent about pricing (incentives, rebates, invoice, financing) and add-ons. Good people to deal with, and I always feel that they try really hard to earn my business honestly. I've had the same salesperson for years and have gotten many cars from Kevin Roberts, unlike those giant dealerships where the salespeople keep changing all the time. The service department runs smoothly and well. Appointments are easy to get, my car is ready when promised, there are no surprises or pressure to get unnecessary extras, and all the work is done properly. I've not had to go back and have them redo anything. They even give me back a clean car. The service department wasn't as good as James Toyota at first, but they improved rapidly, which indicates that someone was paying attention. Now they are better than James ever was. Unlike local mechanics, I feel that they really know all about Toyota vehicles. Plus they have free popcorn! read more

Friday, April 16, 2021. Trying to get vehicle for my daughter. Us, my daughter who works in the area: myself, her father who traveled over 2 hours and 100 miles to help her purchase her second car. We arrive at the beautiful Fred Beans Toyota. No wait time, good. Quality stock of used Toyotas: wonderful. Disappointing and the reason for the one star review: our salesperson who did not introduce himself, and did not really seemed concerned about us. Maybe ask us our names? No. OK there are all kinds of people in this world. We asked him some questions he was not helpful. After about 10 awkward minutes, we did not cause a scene, but we politely said, "we are leaving." He seemed OK with that. Background: as her father (I am a retired teacher with 30 years experience of dealing with people) My expectations were very high because I visited 4 Fred Beans dealerships earlier in the day (doing "legwork" while my daughter was working) and "To a T" the salespeople were all very nice, very helpful and respectful. I plan on leaving 5 star reviews on their sites and mentioning their names as great representatives of the Fred Beans organization. read more

I paid for an oil change and tire rotation, come to find out that they did not rotate my tires yet charged me for it. I called Beans and requested a credit back to my account. Service advisor said there was no way to prove this, ahem...when you just had the service done 4 days prior and your front rims are twice as dirty with brake dust as your back rims, you know the wheels were not rotated front to back like they should have been. It's so hard to find a trustworthy dealer and or mechanic these days so while Beans has a great presentation (nice dealership, polite and helpful service advisors and great follow up), the fact that they skipped the honesty part this time is huge. Thankfully they at least changed my oil after I checked it. Despite this, I had good luck with them in the past and will give them the benefit of the doubt. read more

I visited Fred Beans Toyota to look at two late model used cars, both of which included sunroofs according to the listing placed by the dealership. After my 1 hour and 40 minute ride to get there I discovered that neither car had a sunroof. When I brought this to the salesman's attention and produced a copy of the ad he replied, "I don't know, I didn't write the ad." Searching through other sources I found these same cars listed, not only with sunroofs included in the description but also with remote starters. I also asked about the remote starters during my visit, neither of the cars included those either. The people I dealt with at Fred Beans I found to be dishonest and clearly using bait-and-switch tactics...buyer beware. read more
