The atmosphere almost feels a little Dutch and even reminded me of strolling through Solvang. I'd love to come back during the holidays when everything is decorated with lights and festive décor. Unfortunately, dogs aren't allowed, but they do have a resident cat on the property, which I loved hearing about. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They shared some of the winery's history with us and even showed us old maps of the area from before it became Rancho Bernardo. The wine list was extensive, giving us plenty of options to explore. One of my favorite parts was browsing the small local businesses and shops throughout the property. Be warned: after a glass or two of wine, you may find yourself doing a bit of shopping! There are so many unique gifts, artisan products, and treasures to discover. Parking was easy, and the property is much larger than I expected, with countless little pockets to explore and plenty of seating throughout. I especially loved that the tasting room offered both indoor and outdoor seating, including a covered deck that made it easy to relax and enjoy the surroundings. This is much more than a winery. It's a destination. You could easily spend an entire afternoon here and never get bored. A truly unique San Diego gem that I'll absolutely be visiting again.

The winery offers table service, and the servers were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the wines and menu. They have snacks like chips and charcuterie, but during our visit they also had a Peruvian food truck pop‑up, and wow -- it was amazing. The food smelled so good we had to try it, and it absolutely delivered. We ordered the steak with chimichurri and Yukon potatoes, and I'm already looking forward to having it again. The chef was also incredibly kind and personally brought out our food. And of course, the wine was excellent.
