I've been here a few times but a few years passed between my second and third visits. Last night I got the fish & chips, which was pretty good although the tartar sauce (?) it came with was kind of bland. The food was hot, but I started getting a grease hangover halfway through. (My fault for ordering something I knew was going to be uber-greasy!) The coleslaw was delicious though! Tried my bf's potato chips (actual chips, not fries), and though they were crispy, they were a bit flavorless and could have used more salt. Service was fine--friendly & attentive. Though at the end of our visit, our waitress randomly changed, and she sort of messed stuff up (we ordered everything on separate checks, but the new waitress brought out one check)... the original waitress saw this from afar and showed up with our separate checks, which we really appreciated. Been having a craving lately for, of all things, a simple grilled chicken sandwich. Practically everyone serves bird on a bun, but I've been wanting to return to Fraser's, so there I went. We went there a while back for burgers, weren't all that impressed. Patty didn't have much flavor, was overcooked. Draft beers were a little pricy. In spite of that, I did like the atmosphere. Very comfy, unpretentious neighborhood bar, something rare in Ann Arbor. That's what drew me back today, though maybe I should have paid more attention to my memories of the food. The chicken wasn't bad, but was a little dry. It was topped with bacon, which really didn't add much. Honey mustard sauce came on the side, but one bite of the sandwich with a little of it schmeared on persuaded me to eat the rest plain. Service was fine, and I did appreciate the bottle of Alaskan Brewing IPA on special for $3. Otherwise, the epitome of "eh." read more

Wow has this place changed! I grew up in Ann Arbor and always went here. It used to be a blast with nice people, totally not the case now!!! The servers are very rude and not friendly. Service was horrible tonight. Please make the people nice again! My friend asked the waitress what beers they had on tap she said "can you see that board up there?" When he said no she said "really" and she never did tell him. It was too bad we were meeting other people here or we would have left right then. Food was good. It is just the waitresses that left a lot to be desired! They may have updated the interior, they really need to take a class in hospitality. Or at least read Danny Meyer's books. This townie institution lets you get away from downtown Ann Arbor, which is dominated by students and professionals who are often nice but sometimes pretentious and certainly transient. Fraser's has lots of regulars from all walks of life who have been going there for years or decades. The vibe changes depending on the day and time and on what game is on. U of M football games can be wild, making the servers' jobs nearly impossible -- be extra nice to them. read more

Food is just ok. Got the beyond burger and it was just eh. The Buffalo chicken wrap was drenched in Buffalo sauce. I thought they would just toss the chicken with not drown the entire wrap. It's also spicy with the jalapeños if you're sensitive to spice. read more

The restaurant was clean, lots of tvs for sports and a great beer selection though I didn't have one today. On the downside, service was just ok. I was practically ignored and there were only a few people in the restaurant. I asked for a burger cooked medium. It was cold and when I bit into it, was only browned on the outside. When I asked for it to be cooked more, the server acted annoyed. The burger is advertised as quarter pound but pictured below, it's obviously NOT a quarter of a pound. I would not order this again nor will this place become a regular spot for me. I would come here if others in my group wanted to or if I'm in a bind. read more

I hadn't been in Fraser's Pub in years and that has been a mistake. We went there to be with other Michigan Fans to watch the Big Ten Basketball Championship Game and it was a lot of fun. The others who shared their table with us were super to be with for the Michigan Victory. The waitperson was so nice and informative in helping us to decide on a Philly Cheese sandwich with fries. Best I've had in a long time. Looking forward to coming back soon. There are TV sets everywhere. read more

If you're looking for good pub food - worth it. Got a black bean burger, which was tasty, with a side house salad that was generous and delicious. They made the salad with nice greens. Clearly decent quality ingredients. We also had wings that were solid and not wimpy. The beer selection is AWESOME - great craft selection. Staff was very friendly and checked on us regularly. Took my son out for lunch at Fraser's today. I remember it as a really chill bar with good food and laid back atmosphere. The food was good! The place was air conditioned and good bar atmosphere as I remembered. Unfortunately the service was a bit TOO laid back. Is it because I'm older that I don't think I should have to flag the server down to pay a the check while she chats up someone 10 feet away? I look at my bill- $21.00 for 2 sandwiches and look we were charged $1.99 extra for a side of thousand island dressing ( we asked for 2 sides) to have with our fries! Too bad, stuff like that is why i wouldn't come back just on principle. I like to feel that my patronage is appreciated not begrudged. read more

I wish I liked Fraser's, because it's in my neighborhood and that would be so convenient. We've been there a few times over the years, but there are so many better places we can spend our money at, even thought I have to drive or bike to them. The burgers are average. Like Cubs A.C. the menu includes a long list of fancy-sounding burgers that don't live up to their descriptions. If they splurged on higher quality buns, it might put them into the "good" category. I had the fish and chips a few years back, and it tasted like the kind you buy in the box at the grocery store. Fraser's may be a good place to go for beer, but if you want to get a bite of good food to eat in a townie bar, go to Casey's or the Old Town, where servers and bar staff actually make eye contact with you when you enter the building. read more

I was drawn to Fraser's by the "FREE WIRELESS INTERNET" banner visible driving down Packard. A bar with free wireless? Seemed strange, but I sort of wanted to try it out. Well, the wireless didn't work. And they were out of the dinner special. And they don't have ANY dessert food. And it was cold inside. And smoky - they even had a cigarette machine, haven't seen one of those in awhile. But the cheese fries were good, if not cheesy enough, and the service was good... my server even gave me a free salad. It wasn't a very good salad, but free salads don't have to be. read more

This place has some not so good reviews around the yelp community. I have to say, this bar has some of the most loyal regulars I have seen and they obviously don't yelp. The bar really isn't anything special but I still enjoy it. It is a nice laid back spot. True beer selction hasn't been the greatest, but it doesn't matter now, because as of last night they have Bells 2 Hearted Ale on tap! They have recently also expanded their menu and have a nice variety of pub pizza selections. I didn't try one yet, but they were slanging pies left and right to hungry patrons. Been coming here for years, and I feel like I should point out what all the locals know--what Dan J from Brighton clearly didn't get the memo on--is that at Frasers's the customer is not always right, particularly if that customer is an asshole. And that's why I love the place. It's a divey pub. It's not Chilis or Applebees. It's not a place to take the kids. They don't have a 12-page Cheesecake Factory menu. I'm dinging Fraser's a star based on my recent experience for two reasons: 1. Fraser's is the first bar in A2 I've been to that outlawed 'vaping'. I'm not sure why and I am sure that 99% of people could care less, but I dislike it on principle and hate it personally. I get that they've dumped some money on the place to make it 'nicer', but come on people. You're still Fraser's. People come to drink and watch sports, vaping isn't hurting anyone. 2. Man I forgot how miserable the service always is. I don't need to be treated like a king, but the disdain I always seem to get here boggles the mind. So I'm done with Fraser's. I'm not quite sure what's keeping me from giving them one star. I guess because I can see how some people enjoy it, but I'm not one of those people. Fraser's is a bit outside my usual downtown bubble, but it's such a great neighborhood bar, I try to show up at least once a week. Top 3 bars in Ann Arbor, and it's the best way to flee the yuppie vibe when you want something down to earth. If you're looking to watch a game, there are plenty of TVs, but it's just as good for an after-softball burger and pitcher night, or to sit at the bar and unwind. The staff is really friendly, and you can tell that it's a place where a bunch of people know each other. Go more than once, and you'll already recognize the regulars. Great food (spiciest buffalo wrap in town, awesome burgers), and even better, the kitchen is open later than most spots downtown. My go-to local bar, even though it's not all that local for me. The service staff is a real highlight - yeah, I know they're all hot chicks, but they're also REALLY good servers and bartenders. I especially like that they seem to work as a team really well, especially when it's busy. Your glass is seldom empty at Frasers (unless you want it to be). Food is very good, especially for bar food. The BLT and Quesadillas are particularly tasty. Even the standard bar fare like wings or fries aren't overly greasy. They've also really stepped up their game with a nice selection of Michigan beers on-tap. And it's my favorite place in town to watch a game. Even on big game days, they seem to make it work (although for HUGE games -- get there a bit early or you won't find a seat). read more

I really like this place. The food is pretty good and the atmosphere is very chill and casual. You get the feeling that there are a lot of regulars. What could be better is the beer. The only beer list in the whole place is a chalkboard above the bar, which you can read if you're actually standing at the bar or you have exceptional vision. Trust me when I say, this is THE local bar. You cannot find a more reliable, friendly staff in town. I was new in town, had no friends and knew no one. I came here, was welcomed and now I don't have any friends other then the people who work here or the regulars that come in. Yes, it's seems sad for me but it's not. My boyfriend and I discovered Fraser's about a year and a half ago. We fell in love instantly! Angry orchard on tap and some of the best Fish and Chips we'd had in years! We trie to go in a couple times, but since the fall it was always too busy for us, so we decided against it. Then a couple nights ago we final decided to brave the crowds (which looked bad from the outside, but inside they were only about half full).We each ordered beers from the extensive list. They were cold and refreshing, but that was the only thing that bumped this from a 1-star to a 2. Something has changed at Fraser's that has ruined it for us, sadly. The Fish and chips I so loved has reduced in size (but not in price). I am also VERY convinced the fish had been frozen. I can't tell if it was already frozen and fried, or just frozen filets that they breaded and fried, but the texture was not that of fresh fish (or even freshish). It also had NO flavor. They use to have nice beer battered fish, that you could taste the beer, but no longer. My boyfriend had a steak sandwich. The first bit was all fat, there was no flavor, and if there was a whole cup of meat/onions I would be surprised. All this was terribly disappointing, but the worst came from the service. We waited around FOREVER to leave. Our plates had been cleared (I don't even think we were asked if we wanted another drink) and we just sat there for about 25 minutes. Our waitress walked by multiple times as she cleaned up the side room and finally we had to ask for the check (which I HATE doing because I feel so rude). I'm not sure if the bar is no longer in the same family or they have to cut back on the good stuff because of their new tacky sign, but I am throughly depressed and will not return. read more

Hidden away off of Packard street is little ole Fraser's Pub. I recently frequented here, for a meeting. Although I could not find parking in the main entrance, I did find some along the street nearby. I entered the pub and was greeted by local Ann Arborite middle aged men, watching sports and complaining about life. I found my group of individuals and sat down. Prices were the average- about 7-8 bucks per sandwich. I wasn't too impressed with the beer- just your normal- so I didn't order any. I did however, get the cajun chicken sandwich. Mmm. I was rather surprised. A lot of times, it's hard to cook chicken breast to the point where it's NOT dry, but I was rather surprised at how good it was. Kudos. Others around me seemed satisfied with their burgers/sandwiches as well. Although a little smoky, this pub is okay, being off the side of Packard. Not a place I would probably go, but it's your pretty standard type of pub food. A-okay just for the cajun chicken sandwich. read more

This is generally not the type of place I seek out. The clientele scale tips in favor of the "I wanna get loud and hit on some waitresses" sort. Uughh. But we were nearby and looking for a good burger. So, against our better judgment, we decided to stay. In the end, I cannot argue with that burger. It was just... right. I'm not sure I would go back if I had time to venture elsewhere (i.e. Sidetrack), but if this is the closest joint and a good burger must be had, I might be persuaded. read more

A couple friends and I decided to travel up to Ann Arbor to watch the basketball game. The place was cozy and my first impression was that it was clean ,but you could tell that it is an old smoking bar. Bathroom was clean. Service was on point. There were three servers working the floor and two bartenders. As it became closer to game time the place really filled up and the girls seemed to handle the crowd fine by using teamwork. We ordered skins, wings,and nachos as appetizers. All here were exactly what you would expect at a bar. We ordered burgers later on and they were pretty good too. Don't ever come here for a late night drink. They have posted hours, but only some bartenders follow them. They close at random when they want. I've even seen them close early with a full bar. A very good example of your standard local bar. Cheap beer on tap and all kinds of bar food, a good stop for a cheap meal and beer before heading back out. Great service, I ordered a beer and they had to change out the keg so I just ordered another beer. After I finished that they brought over my first choice and didn't charge me for it, that's top service right there. Excellent beers at great prices (only $5 for La Fin Du Monde). Star rating is based on the beer and my buzz. The food is shitty, but it's edible. The pleasure derived from eating the burger doesn't even come close to outweighing the consequences of consuming the calories. The fried cheese sticks are of the mass-produced frozen shit made in China 3 years ago quality. Atmosphere is so lame it's cool. Nothing fancy, nothing special. From the viewpoint of a Texan, it's a quintessential Michigan bar. Love it. read more
