She told us Her father learned his bakery skills in Germany and handed down those skills to his children. She's gave us some recommendations of her pastries and I purchased 1/2 a dozen. I ate a lemon danish and it was delicious. This was the best danish I ever had because it wasn't overly sweet, and it had a soft texture. Carstens is by far the best German Bakery in the State of Idaho. The prices were reasonable, customer service was great and their donuts and pastries tasted amazing! I highly recommend stopping at Carstens if you want good quality pastries.

I have had a few other opportunities to have donuts from here and have never been disappointed. There are also a ton of fun cookie options - ranging from your everyday chocolate chip to something a little more indulgent like Banana Cream or PB Nutella. I always start with a chocolate chip cookie at new places. I'm a firm believer that if you can't get a chocolate chip cookie right, I don't want to risk trying anything else. It was pretty good, I'll be back for the Banana Cream. I definitely think I made the right decision by joining the loyalty program on the first trip.
