Fun place. The owners and staff are great. They've taken all the needed precautions during the pandemic and still make it an enjoyable experience. The pizza is outstanding. It has a very eclectic clientele. Don't let all the motorcycles out front dissuade you from checking it out you will love it. read more

Poor quality food, bad wings, I ordered a burger it tasted very weird, the only good thing was the fries

Horrible service, horrible wait staff - including owners son. Made fun of a disabled person, served wrong food, then took over 40 minutes to correct it. Kicked patrons out into the rain and made a comment that he'd be 'warm and dry while they were outside in the storm'. And the patron had a baby with them!! Absolutely horrible. read more

I will give a bad review everyday if I could because this place is HORRIBLE. Staff if horrendous. Give your hard earned money to a restaurant/bar that deserves it. They definitely don't. read more

I've been going here for 20+ years, but the other day was the first time in a year. I must say that the quality of food is way down. I ordered a pastrami and Swiss on rye, which has been on the menu for years and I usually really enjoy at Fran's. It's supposed to come with a side of coleslaw that was missing from my order. The waitress indicated that it did not come with it so I showed her the menu that clearly says served with coleslaw. The sandwich itself was a third it's usual size and was very salty. Yes I know pastrami is usually salty but this was extreme. I wonder if the place changed ownership. Needless to say, I will not be returning any time soon. read more

A nice spot in the heart of new hope with great outdoor sitting. The food was good but overpriced and the decor needs some updates. The reason for three stars is because of the staff. They sat around on their phones talking loudly. Despite being slow, the server was rather inattentive. Overall, not bad...... just needs some improvement on decor and staff management. read more

Fran's Pub - American Near Me - New Hope, Pennsylvania

wish I could give no star. I witnessed a man (who i was later told by my waitress that he is the co-owner) screaming at one of the other waitresses and I overheard him threatening to slap her.... didn't seem like a joke.... food: ordered a burger and was charged 75¢ for lettuce, 75¢ for tomato and 75¢ for onion...... what the actual hell? service: subpar, probably because their work environment is hostile & scummy atmosphere: dirty, old, needs remodeling.... read more

The wait staff sucks, kinda seemed both stoned and stupid (had to wait forever for drink refills) but otherwise the food is really good, and fairly affordable for New Hope. Great burgers and fries, and otherwise a great place... Didn't tip the shitty waitress though. Don't be so lazy texting and talking to your friends, and pay attention to your tables. read more

Came here with my boyfriend on Sunday. This place looked cool and I was excited to try it until the rude bartender at the outdoor bar wouldn't accept my "expired" ID. Both PA and NJ have extended license expirations until the end of July due to the pandemic. He rudely said, "This is Pennsylvania not New Jersey and we can't accept expired IDs." Way to be understanding that we're in a global pandemic right now and I don't have time to wait at the DMV for 10 hours to get my license renewed? Also I have been to Pennsylvania several times the past few weeks and all the bars I went to accepted my ID with no problem. We left and gladly took our business somewhere else (they accepted my ID, shocker!) read more

This is a super cute little restaurant with outdoor and indoor seating. We passed by and saw the menu outside and it seemed to have a lot to offer. We were greeted right away and chose to sit outside. The waitress was very sweet and very attentive. The food was good and fresh. Would definitely return. We went there on a Tuesday and it was not crowded at all. read more

Was walking through New Hope and stopped by for a burger and drink. It is good if you are looking for fast bar food and drinks, staff is nice. Very casual. read more

This place is terrible! Used to be ok. Now it's filled with wanna be weekend bikers. Food is bland and service is slow. My fiesta taco wrap was bland with no flavor & I was charged for asking for salsa to fix it . Same with buffalo chicken wrap. read more

The best BLT in town!!!! And I mean the BEST! I've loved this place for 28 years, great family owned establishment! They are the best! I met my husband here, need I say more!!' read more

very disappointed! there were a few things that jumped out but weren't "turn around and leave" stuff... FIRST, for the size of the place and amount of people that were there the single bathroom for each gender was ridiculous! a guy behind me went into lady's room just to wash his hands because someone was dying in the men's room... SECOND, cigar smoking... really? THIRD, we ordered a Dundee Seasonal and a Magic Hat #9... they came as 12oz. plastic cups and were barely even chilled. Then to top it off, the bartender charged us $15.25 for them?!?! you have got to be kidding me... AND LAST, but definitely not least... the guy bartender was a pr!ck and said (when I questioned the price) "yea, we f@#ing hear that all the time..." They are outrageously priced and are trying to rip off the crowds that come walking in but I am guessing they are taking advantage of the biker crowd the most because a cold beer goes a long way after a hot ride... I would NEVER visit this place again... if you have money to blow then do it... I gave it 2 stars because it has a nice outdoor area but again, pricing will definitely keep us away and I will be sure to let my fellow legion riders and m/c friends know to steer clear of this rip-off joint. read more

We came by for pizza during the day and had a nice time. Pretty good food and pleasant service. We returned at night to play pool. The bartender asked to see our IDs- I'm 26 and my boyfriend is 30. When he looked at my boyfriend's Washington DC ID, he said it did not match the image in his ID guidebook, so he said we had to leave. The other customers around were also shocked, and said we did not look under 21. We asked if we could stay and order a non alcoholic drink, but he said we could not stay at all. Totally incompetent- this guy is clearly not trained to check IDs properly- get a scanner if you're unsure but don't deny paying customers unjustly. I hope this review encourages fellow tourists to the area to consider other establishments. Update- the bartender said the image in the corner my boyfriend's ID was a negative image rather than a positive, so he refused service. When we looked at the ID in the light, we realized that the image looks negative when laid flat but looks positive when held to the light, so he was wrong on all accounts. read more

The cheesesteak egg rolls and fried pickles were amazing! The Frans burger not so much! The roll was twice the size of the burger and was very dry! Half way through I couldn't eat the roll anymore I had to take the meat off of the roll. My friend also did not like her American classic burger, she had the same issue as me. Had to ask for mayo; and waited a good 10 mins or so just to get a small cup of it, no lettuce or anything else came on it, even though I asked her for lettuce and onions. Took forever to get our food and to get our waters refilled. read more

Wish I could leave a zero star review. Went here for drinks with two friends, and bartender was extremely rude. Refused to serve a close friend, even though he was not intoxicated AT ALL and wasn't causing and disturbance. Will not return, and will not refer friends. Terrible service. read more

Ordered a turkey burger it just came w meat and bread. No lettuce, tomato or anything. It was literally a chicken patty too. Waitresses were kind and helpful. Fries were ok. Crab mac and cheese was more like crab featuring a handful of macaroni. Ordered a yuengling and it got filled with another amber lager. I wouldn't go here unless you're just trying to drink. Everyone in my party was upset with their food. read more

Diet coke undrinkable, onion soup awful. Steamed clams good but tiny.

Went there for a Bloody Mary Early on Sunday morning. Was the worst Bloody Mary Around. AND for two Bloody Marys the bill was $23.75!! I don't mind paying that much for a good drink but it was tasteless and watered down. Sad-- turned me off the place for sure. read more

Can a restaurant be given zero stars? If so, this would be the one. I can't speak to the drinks, but the food is terrible. Their burgers are nothing more than frozen patties, and are outdone by most fast food joints. Why ask how you want it if it's not fresh, unless your options would be raw or over-cooked? It's been there for years, but I'm not sure how. Keep walking! read more

Nice atmosphere but the food is horrible! No flavor in any of our dishes. We had the vegetable pizza, linguini abruzzi, and chicken ranchero. All of which had to be covered in condiments for us to taste any flavor. Would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Oh Fran's how I love your Waterloo sandwich!! Great place in summer to sit at the large outside seating area and people/biker watch. I recommend the Waterloo grilled tuna steak sandwich!! read more

There was a chicken taco app special. It Jose ole mini microwave BEEF tacos. Then the owner came out and tried to tell us it was a mix of chicken and spices. They were literally jose ole no lie. Food is ok, servers are excellent, pool table is fun, management...something to be desired. Not a nice person at all, called the cops on me because I had an out of state ID and took my driver's license even after I showed him alternate ID. Dude was totally on a power trip. The wait staff saved this place by telling me that the jerk who tried to ruin my night is the owners son...seriously? This guy couldn't manage a little league baseball team let alone a busy restaurant. Extremely rude and got angry when I waited around for the cops to show to get my ID back. Consider a new manager, because this guy knows nothing about customer service, cannot hold his temper, and seemed like he actually enjoyed being mean. read more

We stop here every so often. My husband refers to it as the biker bar. All of the motorcycle groups stop here for lunch and drinks. The outdoor patio is really nice. It's on the street side not the river side so not much by the way of views. They have a pizza oven which always seems to be busy. Check out this spot for happy hour. read more

I can't rate the food, since it never arrived. Stopped here for lunch today, because there were quite a few available tables, so I figured we'd be in and out. Waitress came, cleaned off the table, brought me iced tea, and water for my dining partner. Between 12:40 and 12:45, she took our lunch order: cheesesteak with mozzarella for me, and chicken parm sandwich for my partner. But, he'd like to start off with a salad. "Would you like that with your meal, or bring it out first?" "I'd like it first, please." I glance at the two women sitting at the table next to us, chatting and enjoying their beer. We wait. And wait. And wait. I think it's nice and a bit unusual that the women next to us are seated at a table just to have a few beers and talk. I mean, they could do that at the bar, rather than in a dining area? Waitress has been going back and forth, passing our table. My iced tea is nearly empty. No offers of a refill, probably because she never looks our way. Sometime after 13:10, the women next to us are served their lunch. I notice that they both ordered salad. Huh. So they were having lunch after all. And they had been seated and drinking already when we arrived. And it took that long to prepare a freakin salad? So i look around...that family of 3 on my left is not happy. They have a young child. The parents are just sitting there, not talking, just looking around. The table that I am facing, a couple sitting there, the man has his legs outstretched, looking bored and well, a little hostile. 13:20, i'm getting a little antsy, hungry, annoyed. The appetizer salad that was supposed to arrive for my dining partner hasn't shown up. My iced tea is gone, which is a shame, because at this point I would have dumped about 1/2 cup of sugar in it to temporarily satisfy my hunger. I watch the waitress from the corner of my eye. She walks past our table a few times, going to the bar and to the other tables. Again, no checking to see if we need refills, not even to explain where our meal is. 13:25 I announce to my dining partner that if we aren't served in 5 minutes, he is welcome to wait, but I will not. 13:30 I throw a fiver on the table and we leave. Sooooo...we had waited for at least 45 mins. During that time, not even the pre-preemptive salad was served. No explanation. No checking on us, on our drinks. And as I sat there, people watching, it was even more annoying knowing that no matter how many people post their bad experiences, it won't matter. Fran's is right on the main drag in New Hope, and there will ALWAYS be hungry tourists wandering into that trap. So they can be as awful as they want, it just won't matter. read more

Fran's Pub needs to step their act up. Their menu prices were way too high for the food I was eating. Not to mention the atmosphere, which was literally non-existent. I ordered the Fran's Pub burger, which honestly was not that bad. The bun was a little dry and it was pretty greasy but the food was decent for a pub. However- it was certainly overpriced at 11 dollars. On top of that my service could have been better. read more

My only issue with the restaurant is they dropped my food on the floor and then tried to serve it to me and my family. I was on my way back from the bathroom (in the back by the pool table) I saw the waitress drop two items on the floor, (mussels and chicken fingers) proceed to scoop it up put it back on the plate/bowl and had another waitress clean the plate/bowl with a dish rag used to wipe tables. 4 staff, pizza guy and inside bartender were watching this. Nobody said a thing. And since it fell in an area only in the line of site to the staff they decided to go for it and send it out. I was shocked when it arrived and asked the waitress "Why are you serving me this? You dropped it all on the floor". She looked at her feet and ran off. Nobody ever explained anything they just handed me a bill minus the 2 food items they dropped. Needless to say I didn't want to run afoul of the police on the other side of the Delaware and ruin a lovely Sunday, so I paid my tab (minus the dropped items) and was on my way. WTF? read more

1 hour wait at our table for burgers. Then the burgers were RED and we had ordered well! No thank you.

I'm not sure what happen it was like a magic trick. The food was fine. But when the bill came each item my bf and I ordered was $2 more then on the menu. I just had to ask the waitress what gives. And she told me. It's b/c u got the sweet potato fries ( I did not u HATE them) then she said it was because I got FF. I asked the waitress if my meal came with fries when I ordered she said yes. Still not sure why my BFs meal was two more his def came with fries read more

The service here is atrocious and the food is average at best. Came here for lunch today with my family. Our waitress wasn't the slightest bit attentive. When our appetizer arrived we realized there were no silverware or napkins on our table. We then pretty much had to hunt down our waitress to ask her for them because she never came around to check on us. And the same poor service continued throughout our stay. Never asked if we wanted a refill on our drinks so I left dying of thirst. And the food is extremely poor quality. I ordered a burger and I've had better from Wendy's. Don't get me wrong, this place is a lot less expensive than a lot of other restaurants in the vicinity but I guess the saying "you get what you pay for" holds truth to this joint! read more

Not very pleased with this place. First of all the bartender we had was rude because my group of friends looked younger for our age so she automatically assumed we were under 21 and all had fake ID's. She looks at all of our ID's and when she gets to mine she almost doesn't let me get a drink because she can't find the holograph on my license. I was getting annoyed because I am 21 and was about to get the manager. On my license it says I'm under 21 until september 29, 2010. It is now 2011 so if I did have a fake ID I don't think it would have that bit of information on it. To make things easier they should swipe licenses like most places do now. read more

Hearing the band from the street drew us in and the sight and smells of the food made it a done deal where we would be holing up for the night. So imagine our surprise when we encounter the rudest servers and bartenders in all of of new hope. Upon trying to bring this to the attention of the manager we discovered the manager himself was the rudest one of them all. No wonder all the employees were allowed to act in such a manner when the manager was 10 times as worse as any one of them. We promptly took our business elsewhere. I wouldn't suggest this place to my worst enemy. read more

Food was okay, typical American food. Nothing special. Service was just plain awful. The wait was horrendous for our food and for drinks.
