Oops, sorry, but they are kinda spendy. To be fair, their pay-by-weight candies are the exact same cost as Lolli & Pops and Candy Street in Lynnwood, which is about $5 per quarter pound. The weight adds up quickly. If any kid touches the candies, they pretty much will need to throw away the entire lot. It is an expensive business to run. I observed a child dropped a piece of jawbreaker. The lady immediately approached the parent asking to take the dropped piece. No yelling, no anger, just the right way to run a sanitary business. They have a huge assortment of chocolates, candies, cotton candies, and some beverages, too. Being Easter, they had cute sweets that are unique. I wonder if they will have after Easter sale. Hehe. Amongst their regular offerings, I found one of my favorites - dark chocolate malt balls. Theirs is a bit smaller than the double chocolate ones I usually buy, but cocoa is very expensive now. Yes, some items still have a mark up, but you're paying for the convenience of all the stuff being in one place. They can't exactly draw you in with a loss leader. I bought some Fran's Gray and Smoked Salt Caramels and I've been slowly enjoying them since!

Every month 5 temporary flavors are offered as the month's exclusives. Since I love trying new flavors, this discount is a great for a snacker like me. The staff member said it was the first time she has ever seen this discount. Me, too! I don't know if this deal will continue in the future, but I sure hope so. Their shop is now on the second floor, by Macy's. Decor is different, more colorful, just as pretty.

It seems like they're instructed to be really energetic and engaging when it really isn't called for. The fact that they have a title and "bananagers" that bring up more when the bananas get low. (Yes that's the real title for these people). So no, I'm not hating on it, get yourself a banana. I'm just a bit leery of over cheery corporate efforts like these.

The two of us arrived for their grand opening where one of the deals included a free beverage with the purchase of six macarons. Luckily, we were within the first 20 visitors, so we each also got a box of pre-packed assorted mini macarons (normally a $14 value). The employees were all really kind and welcoming, packing up the macarons and preparing our matcha with care. I could see them meticulously whisking the matcha behind the counter. The macarons were light, had slightly crisp shells and that ideal bit of chew in the middle. Of the flavors I tried, these were my favorite: + PASSION FRUIT - perfect balance of tartness and sweetness with bright tropical notes. + VIETNAMESE COFFEE - the flavor was reminiscent of instant coffee, and it was a little sweeter than expected, but I still enjoyed it. + MATCHA - you could taste the strength of the tea in the cream! Notable mentions to the STRAWBERRY and GUAVA, as they both tasted how I thought they would. I was sadly disappointed with the PISTACHIO and PEACH since their flavors were not as pronounced... I'm not sure I'd be able to detect them with a blind taste taste. I enjoyed my MATCHA LATTE which I requested with oat milk and a pump of vanilla. The matcha was a lovely deep green and I actually felt a little caffeine hit later, so they must have poured in a generous serving. Although we received the grand opening specials, I'm treating my rating as if we visited on any normal day. That said, the price point is one of the main drivers for my 4-star review. Macarons can be purchased as a single for $3.75, 6 for $21, or a dozen for $40. I consider all of these prices to be steep and it's tough for me to justify that value (even if that's the going price for macarons these days), so I'd probably return only if they offer a promotion, depending on what it is.
