I've noticed the quality of the food has declined lately as my last few orders were sub par. I ordered a standard Calzone that comes with mozzarella, ricotta and your choice of meat. With disappointment, there had not been any ricotta cheese in the calzone. In the past they were filled completely. We walked in.. lugnut behind the counter was so nasty we walked right out...went to another pizzeria and was greeted, offered to make what I wanted... (which was the impossible request of a slice with mushrooms on it. )The counter where the pizza slices were had extra food all over the top of the counter so that I couldn't see what slices were for sale. It had fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and bacon and onions which was not supposed to be in there. The cucumbers were bitter and the bacon flavorless. Truly a hidden gem in hackettstown nj. They have a variety of food. I can eat almost anything I can imagine. Great price for all food! Love the chicken wings for football nights/days. The rice balls are my personal favorite. Not many places in nj have them. Can't go wrong with a pizza pie for u with friends or 2 cheese slices with a coke for 5$ after a long work day during the week. If you wanna have a date night can't go wrong going there on mondays for pasta night specials. Open till 10pm weekdays and 11pm weekends is a major plus for me. Screwed up order all around. Driver arrives, says we need to pay with cash when it says credit card on receipt. Gave us extra food we didn't order and tried to charge us for it too. The food we did order was cold and reheated. Garlic knots looked old and were discolored. Talked to manager and he couldn't figure out the correct amount to charge us for what we did order. Came here for a bite to eat on my way home from a long morning of shooting. Figured this would be like any other pizza place around with generic pizza. When looking at the menu there was a pretty large selection of pies and slices to choose from. I ended up getting a Whtie slice and a buffilo chicken slice. The white slice was really good, the roccotta they use made it very creammy. It just has a really good flavor normal white slices dont have. The buffilo slice was also really good. It didnt stand out as much as the white slice but it was cooked well and not runny like some places make them. Overall, i think i would definatly stop back if i was in the area. read more

Very pleasant place with a nice atmosphere. I specifically wanted thin style pizza when we came here and that is what I got. The pizza was very tasty and the place was neither big nor small. I'd say in the middle. The pizza topping I got was Pepperoni and it was great. The whole place had a very relaxed vibe. It isn't fancy at all which wasn't what I was seeking anyway. I have tried Franks on and off since my kids like their pizza. But I have to say that I am disappointed. Today I ordered their chicken fettuccine Alfredo which says it comes with snow peas and broccoli. It didn't come with any of the veggies. Chicken was bland. And the fettuccine was so poorly cooked. There were hard noodles and some soft. It's like they combined two left over meals into one. Pizza this time around was nasty and splotchy with sauce. My go to pizza place in Hackettstown. My friends and I describe this pizza as the perfect party pizza or a great lunch after a night of drinking. The customer service here is pretty good. The waiters and waitresses are really nice, even the delivery people are nice and people who you can have a normal conversation with. As for the owners they aren't the nicest people from my experience. Anyway for the pizza it is greasy and in no way healthy for you but it's good. My favorites are the buffalo chicken pizza, and the barbecue chicken pizza. Both pizzas have big pieces of chicken which is a must for any pizza with chicken. The buffalo is spicy with the buffalo wing sauce and a little bit of blue cheese dressing or ranch you can choose and the cheese goes great with it. The barbecue using barbecue sauce instead of regular pizza sauce. Both pizzas a are filling and you will have leftovers which at times warmed up pizza is better in my opinion. So when it comes to pizza in Hackettstown stop at Franks and if you want to try other food please write a review I would love to know how their other food is. Thanks! read more

I just had the most incredible Alfredo I have ever had. It was a stuffed macaroni Alfredo special. With a salad, fresh-baked bread, and fried ice cream for dessert, it was an excellent meal. Franks is a good neighborhood pizza place. When you get a pie right out of the oven its hot and tasty. The sandwiches are really good too and the salads above average. I'm not super crazy for the entree selections and some of their sauces are too lemony and the red sauce not exactly what Nona made us growing up. The chicken wings are super crispy and delicious. The folks who work at Franks are very nice people and they do a good job. This is a great place for a casual meal and if you don't have super high expectations you'll be happy. Ill start with the positive. I have ordered pizza from here twice and was pleased both times. Last week I ordered eggplant parm hero and it was not good but it was ok.... However the two rice balls i decided to try were not. I thought I detected a slight odor from them but I had never had an issue before and I was not sure, so i ate the one. Following morning i was sick to stomach. I threw the other away and called. I told a woman the problem and she replied "well they are made fresh every day" I said well you know between 39 degrees and 140 you have 4 hours until bacteria reach an unsafe level so..... We stopped here on a Sunday, mid-afternoon, starving and looking for a nice lunch, as recommended by Yelp. I'm sorry to say we were very unimpressed with Frank's Trattoria. This was one of the few times Yelp has led me wrong. For starters, the place was not clean, smudge marks on the glass door and on the front window glass of the store. Also, there was not a really clean table in the place, plus the floor was filthy. Normally, this is enough to make me turn around and leave, but we were starving and so we decided to give it a chance. There was only one waitress working, and although she was sweet, this can't make up for the fact that the food was really lacking. Salad was borderline limp, dressing was bottled, pasta seemed like what you would get in a school cafeteria. The calzone we also ordered was the better choice. The crust had a pleasant homemade crispiness, but the filling was mostly mozzarella, not too much ricotta, which made it very stringy and difficult to eat. I'm sorry to say I can't recommend this place, and I would definitely eat elsewhere next time I'm in the neighborhood. read more

Same for the sauce and the cheese seemed like the kind you get pre- shredded from the supermarket. The menu selection is large offering pizza, wraps, salads, pasta entrees and have recently add a gluten free personal pizza to their menu which is one on the best I've had in the area. This place has gone downhill. Pizza has no flavor what so ever. I would recommend Domino's, Chucky Cheese, and Pizza Hut before this place. The service is just as bad, Dined in on a Wednesday night and the waitress had 1 other table besides me and my husband and she could not handle that. Earlier tonight, my boyfriend ordered a pie from these people, and online using the Slice app, but for some strange reason with our address it defaulted to the Frank's in Hackettstown instead of the Frank's in Flanders, who by the way are the greatest people and pizza ever. Over an hour goes by before they call to report the error, and they assumed that we tried to hack the system to get them to deliver to Flanders from Hackettstown. Their customer service is abhorrent and their attitude is beyond deplorable. Listen this is a Frank's lose the attitude, this isn't a fancy steakhouse. Needless to say, we are two people who travel to Hackettstown at least twice a week for shopping and or leisure, and thanks to the sleazy people who run this Frank's, we are two potential customers literally lost forever. read more
