Good tacos. Great guy. I attended an event where he was cooking and he, his food, and his personality made the event that much better!

Between picking up flowers, setting up photos, being present for such a meaningful day, and then heading to the after party to set up karaoke... I didn't stop once.By 9:30PM I was exhausted and starving. Now let's be real--late night eating is not usually my thing, but this felt like one of those "today doesn't count" kind of days. I've driven by Taco Raul so many times (especially taking my mom to the bank nearby), always telling myself, one day. Well... this was my moment. And apparently I wasn't the only one thinking that--the place was poppin'!I kept it simple: three tacos, beans, and rice for $9. First of all... what a deal. Second... SCRUMDIDDLYUMPTIOUS. Exactly what my soul needed after such a long, emotional, beautiful day. Quick, satisfying, and full of flavor. I scarfed it down and headed right back to keep the karaoke going.Taco Raul, thank you for the refuel when I needed it most. I'll definitely be stopping by again--maybe next time not quite as late

He would rub his dirty apron or face or touch something else and then go back to preparing food - GROSS! He changed his gloves with no problem when we requested it but imagine had we not been watching? The burritos don't last well. Our burritos were moist by the time we got home and made us sick. Stick to the tacos and juices or tread lightly. The Jamaica is yummy. Their salsas are sitting out uncovered on ice in a buffet style setting. However, their temp is not being monitored. On our last visit they were bubbling and appeared sour. We didn't get any to avoid getting sick. The door to that area is also always open so I'm sure flies and other creatures welcome themselves as well. Again, tread lightly.

It was good, but I was thinking that this might be the best ever. It wasn't that. Just as good as any taco truck. Still good, but I'm glad I went because it wasn't special for me and I no longer have to be bound by curiosity. I'll be able to get this experience elsewhere for a lot less money. To me the GOAT is Tire Shop Taqueria in downtown LA. It's still very inexpensive there, and every bite is a savor. I live in Hermosa Beach, and we have an outpost of tacos Tamix. Luckily for me, this didn't dethrone that place So, I have a new rating system......I will write what I feel honestly about an establishment. The only ratings I will give are 5 stars, which is enjoyable, or 3 stars which is "needs work." I thought about leaving 4 stars, but then thought about my new rating system.

Ordered a carne asda taco and an adobado taco in both and flour tortilla and corn tortilla. I love the flour tortilla so much!!!! It had nice charred flavor to it that was delicious. Would just get the flour next time! It's a food truck. There was no line to place our order but getting our food took around 15 min. Food came with onions, peppers, salsas and pico de gallo! Would def get this more often if it was closer. They had seats under a tent to eat and street parking in the neighborhood.

I've been wanting to go this spot for a while, and I finally got my chance when I was driving through the area. When I walked out to the stand, I was graded by some very friendly people and ordered a couple of tacos. One with the roasted pork meat and one pork belly. I wanted the tacos how they are meant to be served (no mods) and that is topped with minced cabbage and two mustard-based salsas. They also put a piece of crispy pork skin on the plate before handing it over. These tacos are so delicious and unique to other styles of tacos we have in LA. Because of the preparation, they eat a little cleaner and lighter than say Carnitas (I'm a big fan of both styles). The mustard salsa gives it a nice kick and zesty flavor. The pork skin, for me at least, is reminiscent to some really crispy lechon I recently had at a Filipino friend's house. Heck, the way the pork is served here is not unlike luaus or big Vietnamese special occasion celebrations I experienced growing up where a whole pig would be ordered. The mustard based salsa also reminds me of South Carolina style barbecue with their Carolina Gold barbecue sauce. Make no mistake, these tacos are very Mexican. Specifically in the style of Acaponeta, Nayarit (as stated on their sign - I'm not going to pretend I'm an expert). Parking was easy because I turned into a lot where it seems like it was an industrial business park. This place is kind of unique because when you turn onto the street it feels like you are approaching a street fair or small scale farmers market. If you wanted to, you could have a full on taco or food crawl along the street alone

The owner? and chef were there manning the grill. They were incredibly friendly and very personable. I chatted with them the whole time they were getting my tacos ready. They let me know they had pork meat, and pork belly, and that they could do a mix. I went with 5 mixed tacos, 1 with "spicy" mustard salsa, and 4 with normal mustard salsa. How were they? Bomb! The mustard sauce was so unique. I've only had one other pork product with mustard based sauce (Payne's BBQ in Memphis, TN, my favorite BBQ sandwich in the WORLD) and its pretty rare to see. The tacos were fantastic! The pork was part chewy, part crispy, part gelatinous in some bites. All of it tasty! They also give you a hunk of crispy pork skin on top of the tacos, too. Really enjoyed my tacos! The spicy mustard sauce wasn't even that spicy. Both versions were delicious though and you can't go wrong with either one. Glad I stopped by and got to sample these great tacos. I will be back in the future!
