8/8/25 - Did my pre-gaming for Somerset Patriots baseball at Frank's Pizza in Bound Brook, NJ. Its about three miles or so from TD Bank Ballpark so it made sense to give it a try. My first thought--- another Frank's Pizza? Does every town in NJ have a Frank's? Why are all these people naming their kids Frank? And by naming them Frank, are the parents condemning them to pizza shop ownership? (BTW --- no offense to my brother-in-law Frank ) So this Frank's in Bound Brook has some issues: 1- the sauce is NOT pizza sauce. It tastes like an Italian restaurant wanted to add pizza to their menu but didn't want to use pizza sauce so they just used what they had on hand. Its not a bad sauce, but it just doesn't taste like pizza 2- it is neopolitan but its very doughy. Take a look at the pic. The crust is off-white. It is as soft as it looks. There is zero char. Zero crispiness. It's almost impossible to pick up to bite without losing all the toppings. 3- the staff seems somewhat disinterested in helping customers. I stood there for several minutes waiting to place my order while they were laughing and joking around with each other 4- very greasy and oily. This adds to soft crust issue 5- the slices lack flavor. Not sure if it's cheaper ingredients or being undercooked but it doesn't matter. It just doesn't taste like pizza and that alone is the reason I wont go back Rating: D+ read more

Came for dinner one night when I was looking to try a new place for slices. Ample parking and tons of table and chairs for dine in. Inside is clean. A lot of pizza by the slice choices so I got one plain and one veggie. Friendly staff who interacts with you while you wait. I did take out so enjoyed the pizza at home. Pizza was good, I was delighted. Enjoyed the flavor of the sauce, was semi bold. Cheese was melty and gooey. Good amount of cheese too. I preferred the plain over the veggie. read more

We came in here around 4pm on a freezing cold Sunday looking for a couple of slices, they had plenty to choose from. I am always wary of getting slices from the counter at the end of the day but these not only looked great but were warmed up perfectly and fresh tasting. There was only one other table of people dining in but as we sat longer we saw a bunch of people walking in and picking up to go orders. That was encouraging to see. I'm glad Frank's is back on our radar. We will definitely be trying a pie next time since they passed the slice test for us. read more

This place is so hit or miss. First time I ordered a grandma pie and it was fantastic. Also ordered wings and they were ok, probably wouldn't order them again. Today I ordered a Buffalo chicken pie and mozzarella sticks and both were basically inedible. Undercooked and no flavor. My little family enjoy ordering pizza here ever since we moved to BB 5years ago. They do a great job remembering the regular customers. Although they are polite and like to create customer relationships they lack severely when it comes to their dine in experience. They don't have a sense of urgency when tending to their guest. They often get the orders wrong or confused with other items. If you want to order a pizza for pick up I highly recommend otherwise I'd suggest finding a more traditional pizzeria. read more

This is my local go to pizzeria. They serve up some pretty good pies along with cheesesteaks, pasta. Etc.. prices are pretty comparable to most places and they offer early week specials . The guys are always super friendly when I come in. This time around I ordered a thin crust Sicilian ( grandma pie) slightly altered with pepperoni, sausage fresh mozzarella and basil it was delicious and we really enjoyed it . read more

I absolutely can't believe this place is actually running, especially with Carlo's Pizzeria just 4 minutes away! The front of the store has pictures making it seem like they have a lunch special, but they don't which is misleading but I was willing to look past it since it technically didn't have any pricing on the pictures(I found out when I asked). Aside from that, the cheese slice is mediocre at best in taste (lacking sauce and flavor in general) and the size was very small! We got fountain drinks and can absolutely tell you their ice machine needs to be cleaned out big time! Tasted mildewy/moldy. ALL THE TABLES WERE DIRTY!! I mean crumbs everywhere and on the seats also. I walked around literally to each one.. felt like they never wiped them down from the night before, or ever? I looked past the outdatedness of the inside, but cleanliness is so important!! The cheese slices cost me $2.50 each and then a small fountain was another $2.50. For about $7.50+, this was a disgusting lunch experience. Carlo's lunch deal 2 days prior put me at $5.50(plus tax) for 2 HUGE tasty slices AND a can/bottled water drink so going to franks after a shoprite trip(same lot) left me extra bitter. 01/24/2016 Can someone please tell me if Frank's is under new Management? The food today was not as good as it has been it the past; my shrimp Parmigiana was just okay, my son had the baked ziti & felt that he has had better and his girlfriend said her food wasn't as good as the last time as well. We just got back from the Poconos & headed straight to Frank's before going home, I'm so sad to say it was somewhat of a disappointment. Seems everyone here spoke Spanish. Weird. I opted for pasta but the girl acted like I couldn't order vodka sauce on penne so I just went with red sauce. The meal was like a 14 year old took a first attempt to cook a meal. It was edible, and the pizza looked disgusting. So I would go to any of the other pizza places near here before I go back here. Enjoyed a quick trip here shortly after lunchtime to grab a slice as we were heading towards the airport. The menu is fairly extensive and the guy behind the counter answered my ridiculous questions identifying the various food items. He was pretty patient and just answered. We had some pizza and some fried mushrooms which were both pretty good. they were far from rude (but not over-the-top friendly either) and they were certainly helpful. Frank's is located in a bustling shopping plaza along with ShopRite and a liquor store. There is ample parking, plenty of seating and the restaurant is BYOB. I decided to go with a plain slice and a penne vodka slice. The plain was fairly average. The cheese had a lot of stretch and the slice was slightly gummy. The charred base is a bit overpowering, but the fluffy crust was good at least. The penne vodka slice was much better. I tired it for the first time today. Not really worth it. The calamari tasted so frozen. It wasn't anything quite close to what I was craving. I was gifted a Grub Hub gift card from work ten months ago and decided to take a chance based on what the app served up as nearby restaurants. Ordered; a mama pie, fried calamari, chicken picatta, and buffalo wings. Grub sends you a text with a delivery window...my delivery arrived 25 minutes AFTER the delivery window. I ordered at 4:25 in the afternoon. After waiting an hour and 25 minutes for my order. I received a plastic pizza with congealed mozzarella and little sauce, wings that were dry (no sauce) and over salted, overcooked pasta (so overdone you could not serve the pasta from the container without it breaking into pieces) with no flavor besides butter and sauteed calamari rings in marinara sauce. The garlic bread was dry with pieces of minced garlic going down the center (2/3 of the surface of the bread had nothing on top). My mushy pasta came with a salad and a container of dressing--actually several squirts of balsamic and nothing else. Probably the most disgusting meal I've been served. My 16 year old son who is perpetually hungry couldn't eat his food. Including the garlic bread and the salad we had 6 items---a half dozen of terrible items. Still def not best pizza joint around or authentic in the least but a good go to spot that cheaper than competitors. I am not impressed. This is not authentic Italian pizza. It is a chain. One of my least favorite at that. There is nothing really special to the sauce which is a let down. The sauce makes the pizza. The cheese quality is also not my favorite. I'm only rating this place as 3 stars because I'm a frequent customer who lives near by and I'm getting really tired of mistake after mistake. We ordered from franks tonight. Our food was over an hour late, came cold, the cheese from the horrible tasting pizza (tasted like old slices) was on the pizza box because the delivery boy put the other food (which was heavy) on top of the pizza box so we had to scrap the cheese and toppings off the box. The worst part of it all is, whoever closed my container to my penne vodka broke it so I had plastic all in my food. I obviously called to ask for another and there was 1. No manager to speak with and 2. I felt as if I got an attitude for something THEY did. The only thing I will say is that they brought me a new pasta, with the side salad and bread they forgot the first time but the bad thing was they now have forgot my chicken. Needless to say, to anyone ordering over the phone from this place... be VERY clear and check your food as soon as you get it. Otherwise you'll be hungry and pissed off the way I am. Okay so I just ordered from them again, thinking I'll give it another chance. Once again it's all about bad customer service. It was not the drivers fault, it was the guy taking the orders over the phone. I've been in customer service since I was 17 years old, that's a long time. This gentleman needs to learn a few things about customer service because he has zero ideas how it works. I ordered lunch to be delivered for my son and I. So I called back and asked if they would make me a new one and I would pick it up bc I have a limited time to eat lunch so I can not wait to have it RE delivered. Instead of saying a simple "I'm sorry I miss heard you, or we messed up" he proceeded to tell me I was wrong and I didn't say that over the phone. Well sir, incorrect and wrong answer. When I went to go pick up my RE made salad which always makes me nervous Incase something was done to my salad (gross) I received attitude for HIS mistake. As I was leaving I told him exactly this "it's better to say a simple I'm sorry then defend yourself when wrong, this will be the last time I ever order from here."
