Basic diner type place. Good food, cheap prices. For example, any menu omelette is $3.99 and it comes with homemade hashbrowns and toast. A good omelette breakfast and juice or coffee is $6-$7. Not bad! I have not eaten lunch or dinner here but will do so soon. read more

I want to thank everyone at Frank's from the bottom of my heart. My sister is a regular at Frank's. She says she loves it there because they are constantly cleaning, the food is good, and the staff is AWESOME! She was at Frank's today with a friend and her 2 of her children. Her 10 y/o son is a very happy little boy who happens to have special needs! He will occasionally let out a high pitched squeal and laughter! Most people find his glee brings a smile to their faces, but today that was not the case. Today, a cold hearted man told my sister to tell her son to be quiet. She apologized to this man and explained that her son is special needs, but that she did sign to him to calm down. This man actually said to her "well he isn't listening to you is he"!! The owner moved this man to the opposite side of the restaurant and apologized to my sister for the mans behavior. THEN this cold hearted man actually called the police!! After telling the police officer that she did not know how to do her job, the police officer had to escort the man out of the restaurant because he was disruptive. This was met with cheering and clapping from other customers. Another customer anonymously paid my sister's bill. Frank's owner and staff apologized multiple times to my sister because she was very upset by the whole incident. Thank you to all of you at Frank's. Great little diner right down the street. Large omelettes come with hash browns and two slices of toast at a good price. High marks for service. However, beware of getting take-out. Perhaps its just whenever we order take out from there, that its messed up. That is the only reason I give 4/5 stars. (simply check your food before you leave and you'll be good). read more

Frank's Diner is pretty smooth. I went for breakfast and enjoyed a veggie omelette. My mom ordered a basic breakfast special and my best friend ordered stuffed French toast. My omelette was great. My mom and best friend thought their food was lackluster. My best friend was even a little frustrated because the stuffing in his French toast was simply cream cheese. They recently acquired new management and it shows in the business. It bothers me that you get nickeled and dimed to death, if that makes sense. My mom ordered tea. She was only given one lemon and 2 packages of honey. If we wanted any more of either, there was an additional charge. To wrap this up, it's a pretty good diner if already have in mind what you want and want nothing spectacular or extra. read more

use to stop in here for lunch when I worked in the area ... but this year my quest on the morning commute has been for the best corned beef hash breakfast.. and having tried most of the diners on the west side - Frank's home made version is easily the gold standard. I was a bit bothered by an up-charge to add onions and peppers (because who wouldn't but onions and peppers in their hash) but the balance of meat, potatoes and the veggies was perfect. I won't be stopping into strange places in the early morning anymore, now that I know Frank's has the best. read more

Truthfully ,speaking this review shouldn't been written. I went in around 11:30a.m., Sunday. Yes they were busy but people were in good spirits. It was clear from listening to a few apologies ,that the kitchen was off or the server. I asked for my eggs a certain way. Simple matter, well 20 minutes later my order comes out and the eggs whites weren't done as requested. Simple ,matter ..10 minutes later she brings me a broken yoke egg, The whites still not done , and cold hashbrowns. Now 30 the food is 30 minutes old. The waitress apologized but she , okayed this mess to brought out to the table. She then bought out the ticket and said the manager said just take it off , ask if it was my fault. Indeed all I wanted was breakfast. Went to the register now 45 minutes into this. Asked for a manager expressed my frustration about quality control and how I just wanted my breakfast. She apologized but I paid $5.00 for hot tea and cranberry juice. Then she asked we can still make it. I once again, expressed yes I wanted to seat and have breakfast. Her words ," we can still make it to go" I don't think this is a bad establishment but the wrong people representing awesome local establishments. I remember when they first built this place and it was a nice addition to the Redford area and remains as such. Overall it has decent food for the price. Good value. Nice selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Personally I was initially more pleased with their breakfasts than their lunch and dinner items so to this day I get an omelet whenever I go. I can eat breakfast foods at any given time of day so this is great for me. Their omelets, as with the rest of their breakfast food, comes in great portions for the price with a decent enough taste. It seems whenever I get an omelet at another restaurant, such as Big Boy, I think to myself, "Gee, I could have gotten a bigger omelet that tastes just as good for a couple bucks less at Frank's." Good service and location. It's worth trying. Just be sure to check your take-out orders. I've sometimes received the wrong items. The most glaring mistake was when I ordered a veggie omelet and got home to find out the contents of the omelet was solely delicious-looking chunks of ham. read more

We have Frank's about once a week usually for breakfast but have had lunch there as well. If you're hungry and like to pig out for breakfast, then the porky's omelet is a perfect choice. My oldest loves the chocolate chip pancakes and the youngest gets the mickey mouse pancakes. It can take a while at the peak of the breakfast rush, but that is to be expected.
