And their care and attention during Covid has been top notch! As a couple, we started with a fitness membership and upgraded to a family membership when we realized all the great programs available for children. Our kids enjoyed the camps, swimming lessons and "grew up" with the club. They have benefited from the variety of offerings. The new basketball court is a big hit! New this year for me is working with a personal trainer. Being matched with a trainer who understands my fitness goals and limitations (due to recent surgeries) has been a dream. As part of a semi private group, it is motivating, fun and it works! Seeing results is great!

We walk up, and she asks my mom for this tag thing, and my mom doesn't have her tag since we've always entered by our names. Danielle then keeps on pressing us to download the app, which we have never been obligated to get. My mom asks, "Can we do this later?" and Danielle keeps saying that "all their members require to download this" This whole time Danielle was talking to my mom in the most passive aggressive tone you would ever hear. She was incredibly rude. My mom has a Ukrainian accent, upon my mom first speaking, Danielle's expression changed. She was acting the whole time like she was the manager, and that she was better than my mom and being very very rude. She was talking down to my mom like she was a third grader. When Danielle FINALLY asked for her name, my mom says her name which is pretty uncommon for people to hear since it is Ukrainian. Danielle asked if this was a LAST name. My mom said no and spelt it out for her, Danielle kept repeating the first three letters like four times, quadruple checking if she spelt it right. This name isn't even hard to spell by the way, I could spell this word if I was in kindergarten. Well, to sum it up. Danielle is just unpleasant. The pool and gym are very nice, though.

When I'm making dinner she doesn't play with dolls she practices her jumping on her hobby horse. She was given a hand me down bouncy horse and spends hours 'riding'. Trouble is, no one wants to actually put a five year old on a live animal. Five year olds, especially girls, are really still very little. Their legs are too short to reach the stirrups, they don't have muscle strength in their thighs to grip, and if the horse bolts they will go flying, because they simply aren't strong enough to control the big animals. I spent a lot of time asking and googling, and trying to find anyone who does riding classes for kids under 7, and finally I came to the end of my long journey at Clarion Farms. Carly, the sweet owner of the school, works with as many as 15 of these little budding equestrians at any time, as well as running a summer camp for young riders. She keeps some very mellow ponies and undersized helmets on site, and she really understands how to work with very young kids. A one hour class consists of saddling, including grooming the pony, leading it to the ring, 15 minutes of riding on a long lead, then brushing the horse down and cleaning tack. Perfect! I do highly recommend Carly to any parent who has a little kid who wants nothing but to get onto a horse. I wish she wasn't so far away from us, and the drive does make it impossible to get there more than a few times this summer, but it is so worth it for the happiness I can see on Ruby's face when she is on the pony!

After a 45 minute discussion about the cars and the track. I put on my racing gear (I brought my own). and headed over to the cars. The cars here were Late Models, which are somewhat different than cup cars but still fast. The cars were being used hourly so it was amazing that they were in pretty good shape. The only appearance of heavy useage was the steering wheel on my car was somewhat ragged. I got on the track and passed everyone. I wasn't afraid to floor it in the straights and I suspect this is the only place you can do this without buying your own car. Wish it could have lasted longer! LOL Great time!

The trail seemed to be pretty well marked...just follow the yellow markers on the trees. It's about a 2 mile hike or slightly less. The terrain can be slippery if there's a lot of mud and if you are a bit klutzy like me, you need to watch out for tree roots/rocks, but w/ a good pair of hiking boots you should be good.
