Frankie's was a cute little pizza and ice cream shop. Their pizza was fresh and their falafel was decadent. They also serve local wines and I found my new favorite Cabernet Sauvignon called Bontela. We didn't try the ice cream because we were full after our meal, but that is what most the people in front of us ordered. There are a few small tables downstairs. Upstairs there are a few more small tables and a large one that will hold 10 people.

Don't even think twice ! The mushroom cap 5/5

Hands down a must do when in Mendocino . I'm not a big fan of icecream but I would have to say this should be on your itinerary when in town. Tried the mushroom cap icecream and it was decadent . I ordered a single scoop and went back two days in a row because it was that good . The icecream had a great texture of the mushroom . It wasn't too sweet which was perfect and had light flavor and morsels of the mushroom . It kind of tasted like butter pecan & maple. It was delicious ! This spot was my favorite !

Candy cap mushroom was pretty good. Don't be put off by the mushroom haha. We got 2 scoops just in case we didn't like it. Pralines and cream went well with it. And they have pizza, how cute! They have seating on the main floor, upstairs and outdoors as well.

So many pizza options to choose from but happy with our the veggie choice we made. Also a good selection of beer to choose from. Small patio area to sit in and well as some inside options, but lucked out and was able to get a table. Loved that it was dog friendly too. It was a longer wait to place the order, but well worth it and staff is friendly.

We stopped in to order a pizza to go. The staff was welcoming and they are also known for their ice cream. Well, who said you can't have dessert first, so Mr. Bee and I shared a scoop of ice cream while waiting for our pizza. Who can pass up Mushroom Cap Ice Cream, I know sounds weird right, mushrooms in ice cream. But it was awesome. Very creamy and rich. There are no chunks are pieces of mushroom, but the mushrooms add an earthiness to the ice cream which made it a little savory and not too sweet. It really tasted like maple pecan ice cream. Loved each and every bite. We ordered the Whisky Shoals pizza. Topped with mozzarella, goat cheese, pine nuts, red bell pepper and jalapeno. It was spicy, but not overly spicy, sweet from the bell pepper, creamy and tangy from the goat cheese and the pine nuts added a nice crunchy texture. Would absolutely eat it again. The crust was crisp and not too thick. We did take it back to our room at the inn to eat while enjoying our ocean views, but they do offer some indoor seating and a nice patio for dining in.

On the left was peppermint & rocky road; on the right was coconut & some kinda chai...perfect!!

Yummmyyy ice cream! Perfect for a sweet treat. Staff was so-so don't expect to engage but the ice cream is super yummy! Plenty of seating!

For the mimosa, they give you fresh orange juice, and a bottle of champagne. So you get a little bit more than one glass of mimosa. We always stop into Patterson's pub while we're in town, for a drink and/or a meal. Last night we stopped in for dinner. It was very busy. It was about a 15-20 minute wait. But we were able to sit out back by a fire pit and order a drink while we waited. Got to meet some other folks passing through the area. Good conversation. For dinner I ordered the turkey burger with tater tots. It was perfect. Perfectly cooked with fresh lettuce, tomato onions, etc. Even the roll was perfect. My wife is a vegetarian and got the patty melt with the black bean garden burger. She got steak fries as her side. She was also very happy with her meal. The ambience here is pure Irish pub. Very friendly staff and clientele. If you're passing through the area, definitely recommend taking a break at Patterson's pub for a drink and or a meal.

The staff were kind, courteous and went above and beyond to accommodate us. The food, as always, impeccable. If you like dining outside, there are heaters and the grounds are lovely. For a table of 2 we walked in and had 1 party wait in front of us, which still took 30ish min to be seated. The outdoor seating is beautiful with the lighting, but the indoors was quaint as well. The waiters are extremely nice and sociable, makes you feel like family. Great spot for a date night! 5/5 Complimentary focaccia was soft and fluffy. They had different ones, like rosemary, plain, and the pizza. The pizza one was easily the best, especially if it just came out of the oven. You can definitely ask for more and they are happy to bring you some! 4/5 Melanzane parmigiana was a nice eggplant parm in a smaller appetizer form. Don't let the size fool you, it's pretty filling. I would have wished for a bit more sauce and the eggplant a bit more seasoned, but it was definitely a great dish. There were parts where the batter was a bit soggy. 4/5 Cappellacci Verdi alla Zucca was a solid dish. The butter and sage sauce was simple and allows the pasta to shine, with the squash not being too strong. I think if it was stronger in flavor, it might have shined a bit more. 5/5 Spaghetti al Pesto Genovese is easily the best dish. The pesto flavor was strong and seasoned well. If you come here, this is the one to get! 4/5 Creme Brulee was nice, great exterior with the right sweetness. Felt a little too firm on the inside as I would have wanted it softer, but nothing out of this world. Overall a really solid Italian spot that feels like a neighborhood gem. The complimentary focaccia and the pesto spaghetti alone are worth the visit. I would recommend making a reservation to skip the wait, but the ambiance and warm service make it a perfect date night spot. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of their pasta offerings!
