I've been to several of these and the staff is always super friendly and they are very generous with samples. It was so hot and humid outside (a typical NYC summer night) so the cool and inviting taste of gelato was very welcomed The Noms: I typically always order their cherry flavor... which I love for its sweet and slight tartness... it has the perfect balance of cream with a tart (but not too tart) bite from the cherry. It reminds me of the cherries that they have in Italy, the Amarena cherries that they serve with Old Fashioned drinks. This time around I chose the pistachio... I don't know why I never tried their pistachio. I guess it's usually people's default flavor for gelato and I thought it would be too basic... how wrong I was. Their gelato is so creamy and super deeply pistachio flavored... the pistachio flavor was very intense in a good way. It didn't taste artificial at all... actually it tasted just like the pistachio flavored gelato that I would order when I was in Italy. This has definitely become one of my favorite flavors to order here from now on. In Conclusion: I love this place, it's so convenient as there are many locations throughout the city. This is my second favorite gelato spot. My favorite is Anita la mamma gelato on the UES.

Okay I was cracking up about my experience here because I literally asked the dumbest question to…read morethe guy working but he was so nice and explained the answer to me until I understood! So fun fact they are now advertising Banana Pudding Hot Chocolate and it is NOT actual hot chocolate but banana pudding made to taste like hot chocolate. Why I got so confused? I don't know! Maybe I have been watching too many videos about Tyra Banks Hot Ice Cream. Either way I appreciate the guys patience and kindness when explaining it to me twice especially because I did not end up ordering that at all (though it sounds interesting) but I did get the regular actual hot chocolate and it was amazing! It tasted like melted marshmallows were in it! Perfect for a cold winter day. In addition we got to the humming bird cake, a cupcake, and the regular banana pudding. My husband had never been here before so you know we had to get the banana pudding, it's their claim to fame. And it is decent. Growing up in North Carolina banana pudding is taken very seriously and is literally at every gathering. Would this be a contender for the cookout? Sure! I have no complaints about. The other baked items were delicious as well. The store is cute unfortunately this location has no indoor seating but plenty of outdoor. It was like negative degrees when we went so we definitely did not sit outside. All and all it's a cute bakery/ sweets shop. There are many locations through out the city. I've been to others and it is consistent. It's definitely not a bad dessert spot to try.

Let me start with the positives, because there were some. Daniel was excellent--polite, attentive,…read moreand gave solid customer service. Credit where it's due. Now for the madness. Another employee, Kirk--an older gentleman who looked completely out of place--approached and coughed directly over the slice of cake that had just been cut for me. Yes. Over it. At that moment, I honestly wondered if it was intentional. A young woman nearby immediately caught my reaction and went to the back to replace the slice. She handled the situation professionally and deserves recognition. Unfortunately, the chaos continued. Kirk later made me a hot cocoa, and when I went to drink it, it spilled on me because the lid wasn't secured properly. At that point, I stopped believing in coincidences. And the cake? The German chocolate cake was terrible--dry AF and nothing like the Grand Central location. Not even remotely close. Between the coughing, the spill, and the subpar cake, this visit was uncomfortable, messy, and disappointing. Magnolia should seriously reconsider who they put on the floor and retrain accordingly--because this location is not living up to the brand. But honestly, I believe the 2 guys had to be the owners. Small shop, great service, excellent drinks, & tasty treats!…read more Of the two drinks, the black sesame latte was by far one of the best lattes I've had in a while (granted I have had a latte in a while...). If texture doesn't bother you (liberal amount of black sesame!), I'd suggest getting this latte (10/10). Both pastries were great in their own right. For my second matcha of the day, this matcha was like your everyday/average matcha. Can't go wrong, but it wasn't mind-blowing. If you're in the Theatre District, I'd definitely recommend popping in for a drink & a treat!

I had seen their cute pastries online and wanted to check them out. We got the items above and a few coffees. The cakes are cute. Tho not as light and fluffy as I was expecting. I thought they'd be more like the asian bakeries we have back in SF. Not as sweet as american desserts, but it was kinda in between. The egg sandwich I really wanted to like since I've been craving one. But the it was sooo dry. Definitely needed more mayo. And the bread wasn't very fluffy either. Cute spot if you want cute desserts. Tho I think they are more geared towards posting on socials. REVIEW #3999
