I have been to other physical therapists in Tucson and have been very disappointed. Luckily a friend recommended Franke Physical Therapy. I have been there for two separate issues -- to address issues with my cervical spine and post-surgery on my lumbar spine. Initial intake is done by Mike Franke who is extremely knowledgeable and professional. He develops a treatment plan and you are then turned over to a physical therapist who executes it. My therapist was great!! You are given an exercise program to follow at home. I found the exercises to be effective and helpful. Everyone there is pleasant, kind, and caring. By far the most amazing physical therapy office. I've had an uncontrollable limp going on for the last 6 months and this has been the only doctor that has actually helped me. I've had 7 MRI's an EMG, seen 2 different PT's, 2 different Orthopedic surgeons and no one had given me answers let alone help me feel better. Nearly 3 weeks ago I had a right total knee replacement. I began PT with Mike and Eddie 5 days post- op. They have been amazing! They are careful, encouraging and mindful about my plan. The work here and at home is hard! Currently I have 8 pages of homework exercises that I do twice a day. I see them 3 days a week for additional exercises, stretching and evaluation. Tomorrow is my 3 week mark since surgery and I have a perfectly straight leg and 139 degrees of flexion! I should be ready to go back to work in 10 days without a cane! I cannot thank Franke PT enough for the excellent care. I would recommend them highly for all physical therapy needs. read more

Went there 4 times. I believe it was helpful in the beginning, but the returns were diminishing as the treatments did proceed. On the 4th visit, I went in at 11am (have a credit card receipt that has payment with a time stamp, as this time they had me pay before instead of after). My appointment was at 11am. By the time I saw my therapist it was 11:16am. I just assumed they would make up the missed time in that appointment and I would leave at 12:16pm. That didn't happen. The therapy was still the same time frame even though they were 16 minutes late. So I basically paid for an hour and got 44 minutes if that (10-15 minutes were sitting on a bed with icepacks). I will go over the quality of treatment. They printed out exercises for me to do. The exercises were ok, but they didn't give me a routine or chart on how or when to incorporate them or in what order. They don't have a mobile app like a lot of other groups do and the website that they utilize is super buggy and they never updated the exercises on it that they added in for me. I was kind of left at home to try to remember what we did on the visit and one time I even brought in a notepad so I could try to write down some form of order. I feel as thought this should of been provided for me as they do in a lot of other places. It didn't seem like a coherent plan they had me on. I would have to say the office staff is amazing. Very friendly and super nice. If I was only reviewing the office staff this would be a 5 star review. At the end of it, nothing was cohesive and thought out in a plan that I could follow at home. I ended up with 15 print outs that weren't laid out in any order for me to follow at home and I felt more lost with each session. Although the exercises did seem to have some positive effect. At the end of the day they didn't value my time or money. read more

Had a total knee replacement. After about 6 weeks of PT the office closed. Was referred to Franke Physical Therapy. Alex and Jen, and Ed worked with me. Needed to follow up at home with specific exercises. Therapy sessions were not rehashing of those exercises but real therapeutic treatments by the PTs. I was referred to them by my doctor and was called to make an appointment. My insurance was not accepted but I was willing to pay out of pocket because I heard that this place was one of the best in Tucson and I really needed help. I asked for more hours at work so that I could comfortable afford it and after a couple weeks I called to make the appointment. The answer was no. I had more than enough money to afford at least 2 sessions a week but they wanted insurance. I told them I have had major back problems for over 3 years. Money isn't a problem if you can help this pain go away. The answer was still no. The price for the sessions was "at least $80" depending on the situation. In my 3 years of looking for help, I have noticed that some people take advantage of my insurance without providing the help I needed. After realizing this was another one of those places, I did not want to get help from them anymore. People with insurance are not revenue streams to be exploited. I'm sure the help here is great but I'm tired of being treated like this. I hope all of you that need help find it. read more

Mike did a great job on my back, you have some of the exercises and posture. he help me remember when and how I am supposed to do at home exercises. He is full of so much information and knowledge and he is very down to earth and open! He is a great doctor, he is so great that he works himself out of business. But he's not ever going to lose business because he gets so many recommendations from the people he has helped. It is all just the rotation of generations. I went to Franke Physical therapy for 8 months. I liked the staff and care. I referred many people. Unfortunately I missed an appointment (was a difficult time) and I wrote it on my calendar incorrectly, my error. I was told there would be a charge for the missed appointment, I said I understood. Nothing else was said. My next appointment I received a reminder message confirming my appointment and that I'd be charged for the missed appointment. Later in the day I received another message saying my appointment was cancelled and all future appointment canceled and my file was closed, I could continue service elsewhere because I had missed the prior appointment. I was extremely shocked and disappointed. I thought I had a good rapport and working relationship with this company. I contacted the office and asked to speak with Mike Franke. He basically said they have a policy if you are a no show, they can cancel service. There was no discussion, reconsideration or loyalty to the client. I have another upcoming surgery and planned to continue therapy. On top of the stress of another surgery (actually two), I have to find another physical therapist. This is so unprofessional and discourteous to their clients. Unfortunately mistakes happen unintentionally an a missed appointment occurs. I was happy to pay the missed appointment fee, but to deny service is NOT putting patients first or even inquiring what happened. I am a reliable upstanding person and I don't normally miss appointments. Mike said I had missed an appointment in December (I remembered this appointment, it was not my error), I had discussed it with the office staff. I have referred many people to this company but would no longer do so. If you want to have a long-standing relationship, beware of this company, you might be canceled without future service. I am extremely disappointed in Mike Franke, owner of Franke's Physical Therapy, his relationship and commitment to his patients. I've never encountered a company dumping patient for a unintentional missed appointment, it's extremely disappointing. read more

I was in considerable pain from my achilles tendon. And was considering surgery. Had been to a surgeon and another PT without success. Mike was able to diagnose the problem correctly and over time provide a cure. I can't say enough about how good Mike and his staff treated me and helped rehabilitate my injury. My husband and I would not go anyplace else. They have helped my husband with chronic neck pain due to a condition that he has. When I fell and whiplashed my neck, they had me fixed up in less than six sessions. In addition, they were generous in educating me on the proper way to walk and hold my head and neck, ways to deal with back pain and with knee pain. I wish I could give this place zeros stars ! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE ! I spoke with a receptionist and a manager or actually the owner and they were beyond rude to me . I have never been treated like this by anyone and they were so rude to me they do not work with you and the owner of the business is completely rude who only cares about himself. I have a 64° curvage in my spine and he would not work with me to get me on the schedule. I have been there twice they have charged me hundreds of dollars for nothing. If you need a good physical therapist do not go to this place they do not care about you and they will not take care of you. When you own a business you always treat the customer with respect and I was treated the opposite they told me they could not get me on the schedule they would not work with me The owner basically told me I could not come back and to find somewhere else to go when I have a major spine surgery coming up. Please do not go to this place the owner is a disgrace. The owner of this place SHOULD BE FIRED I'm so upset in tears how he made me feel it's so horrible how they treat their customers! I went here a while ago and had a good experience with them. Everyone was polite and professional and the office and staff was coordinated well and worked efficiently. All the people I worked with were cordial, answered my questions, made me feel comfortable, and were not overbearing. Out of all the times I was there, there was only one time where there was a "weird" moment that could be classified as being inappropriate for the workplace. Other than that one thing, customer service was top notch and the prices were reasonable. (The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the therapist told me that massage would not help me with the pain I had and that only PT and doing the exercises would-- however, massage helps tremendously! Franke Physical therapy is a good as a medical practice gets. Both my husband and I have been patients recently. Things at Franke's go like clockwork. Appointments are on time, staff look happy, everyone works very well together. The atmosphere is relaxing, with soft music always playing in the background (the genre rotates but is always in the "calming" category). Treatment times are generous. Whether you are working with a PT or one of the PTA's at Franke's, you can be assured that you are receiving the best in physical therapy practices.
