Dr. Defeis is a caring and compassionate person and a great vet. I would not take my dog to anyone but him. Expensive but worth it.

After previously bringing my dog to them the night before, my dog had a drastic health change where he was severely limp, weak, and unresponsive. When I came in with my dog in my arms, they immediately took him and brought him to the back to give him fluids and run tests on him. After several hours there (approximately 4-5 hours) they highly suggested that he stay for a 24 hour observation due to a possible genetic diagnosis of Addison's disease. They communicated properly and were understadning about our countless questions. They were patient and caring to myself and my family about this traumatizing time. They promised to give my dog the best care there was. They never had issues with our countless calling and asking questios throughout my dog's stay. Our dog's doctor was really kind and professional. She was direct about our dog's prognosis but was not rude or malicious. I know there are people here that may not have had a good experience with them. But, just based off this one emergency, I would say that if your pet is ever in need of help, Blue Pearl in Forest Hills would be one of my recommedations. Thank you Dr. Schreffler and the staff for saving my precious dog, Shadow! HOWEVER, although this glowing review highlights the kindness, professionalism, and hardworking staff of Blue Pearl, there was one negative expereince through it all. Myself and my family have all agreed that the nurse Emily was completely rude and unprofessional. I understand that someone who works in this enviornment is used to these types of emergencies and may sometimes become desensitized to these occurences. However, the pets and owners who come in here seeking help do not expereience this all the time. We look for compassion, understanding, and patience. The nurse Emily did not show any of that to us, which is very unfortunate. To not show any positivity and support to a fmailI hope that my experience with her was just a bad day for her and not a continued behavior.

When I asked to take off X-rays he denied. Said there wasn't a surgeon on site . He mentioned antibiotics before going elsewhere, then denied me that too. I came in with a heavy feeling of helplessness and even broke down in tears in the waiting area because my family and I couldn't figure out why he stopped eating completely. Dr. Nader took a look at the previous bloodwork that was done and then proceeded to do a full examination of my baby. He promptly listed all the procedures and to my pleasant surprise assured me that everything can get done the same day. After some time of evaluating the costs and taking an approval from care credit (the costs for everything ended up being $5114 for everything including meds and tests), we admitted him for surgery the same afternoon. Afterwards, I continuously received phone call updates from either Dr. Nader or Dr.Sharkaway until the procedures were done. The wonderful team stayed well after hours to ensure that there were no loose ends with their work, including additional testing and extensive care for the excessive bleeding that my baby was experiencing post op. When I came to pick him up, Dr.Sharkaway listed all the details of the procedure, complications that they ran into, additional tests that they're waiting for the results on and aftercare instructions along with the post op medications. I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to confidently clean and remove everything that was didn't belong on my baby's body with minimal side effects. I was given detailed instructions on how to take care of the bleeding at home and luckily it stopped overnight. The next day, the hospital continued to check in with me on my baby's health and the doctors continued to stay in contact with me to ensure that he was doing well. I came in a wreck and left with tears of joy in my eyes. They've earned my loyalty. May they be forever blessed and highly favored.

When we arrived at 6 PM, having no update other than we will give you an ETA soon, we were told that the ultrasound tech did not arrive until 3 PM. We were not given an ETA at that point, and the cat had not eaten for 22 hours. This office is excellent at trying to separate you from your money, but not so great at customer service or basic care for your pet. Bottom line: We were lied to repeatedly by the vets office. We will not be back.

I trust the doctor and the techs - they seem very genuine and are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Every time I've gone in, they address all my questions and make my little man very comfortable. Takeisha at the front desk is always so sweet. Price-wise, they may indeed be slightly higher than other places, especially within a bigger corps like Petco or PetSmart. And truly, I may change vets at some point, but for now and as a brand new puppy, I wanted to bring my fur baby to a good vet. For example, they quoted me $100+ for him getting microchipped and I wasn't about to pay that much. I ended up getting him microchipped for ~$40 (plus my breeder reimbursed me that amount, too). But again, I personally feel very comfortable and very happy with the service they provide here - though they are sometimes busy (and reply late to text messages) and not very flexible with scheduling (later hours). But if you're okay with that and able to be understanding, I think it's not that huge of a deal. Thank you Dr Russell and Austin Vet Care staff for taking such good care of my Odin!

I'm just wishing for a moment that I had immediately transferred my current dogs care to Mobile Vet upon my return to New York. ------* I've used Juniper Valley Vet & I couldn't be happier breaking from them.*------ Once we raised my 105 pound pittymix female to the examination table, Dr. Howard Nachamie cleaned the minor build-up on her eyes and ears with his bare hands, this made me very happy. He looked at her for a moment right in the eyes before sticking a thermometer up her butt. I believe they both looked at each other as if to say "I'm comfortable with you." The examination results and options to be considered were well explained and easy to make a decision upon. Mobile Vet has a tremendous reputation in the neighborhood and Dr. Howard is a well respected man of the community. Just to draw upon a quick example, a friend lost her dog a year back. She was frantic & she printed up Reward -Lost Dog- flyers. Mobile Vet gladly posted the flyer and upon the dogs discovery was returned to their office.
