My dogs have been patients at Bond since they opened. Dr. Karandikar is the vet they've seen since the beginning. She is kind, professional, knowledgeable, listens to concerns and doesn't rush the visit. The Bond staff is wonderful, too. One of my dogs just had dental there with extractions, the staff text me during the procedure and Dr. Karandikar called me and explained what she had seen on X-rays and how she would proceed. I was then given updates, told when he was out of surgery and then the doctor called again. I've had dogs my whole life who had their teeth cleaned and extracted and I never had up-to-date info or the vet calling me before and after surgery!! I'm really impressed! I was here when it first open and I couldn't complain but I have been Back and what a sudden change . This place needs something to happen. I went to google reviews and I am so afraid now to bring my two dogs. I did go last year and I couldn't believe money was only in their minds and not the health of my dogs. One of my dogs now has a red mark and I was looking into where in forest hills I should taken him but I can't believe the bad reviews that this place has on google. Today, I found a splotch of blood left by the cat and panicked and brought my cat in, and a different vet saw her. I was uneasy with her unwillingness to listen to my cat's history and my cat was screaming in fear. Dr. Diaz and the vet tech did not want to listen to me about my cat's history, were argumentative and defensive, and it was a high stress experience for both me and my cat. My first time here and I'm glad I switched vets to come here. Location was also a factor as Bond is closer to me than my last vet. It was easy to make an appointment which you can do online. There's a decent sized waiting area and a check in counter when you arrive as well. They are very dog friendly and they have snacks for them as well. I have cats and it would have been nice to have something for them as well though. The vets and the techs were all very nice and professional. They are very engaged and made sure my kittie was as comfortable as possible. Parking can be tricky here though as it's on Austin Street. Definitely worth the visit if you have a pet! read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!! BOND Vet could NOT take blood from an ill, fragile, 12 pound, 15 year old cat, because he was "too feisty". SERIOUSLY???? Most of the time that my cat was in the back room, his vet was in the waiting area (where I was) talking with another couple that didn't seem too happy... I doubt that anything was even TRIED to soothe and safely secure my cat for treatment. He needed blood work done... at the VERY least! And Bond Vet couldn't even do that!!!! Don't hesitate to bring your furry family members to Bond at the Austin Street Facility! State of the art care, comparable to my own human experiences with my PCP in a Langone office! Our cat had an urgent medical issue and Dr . Malek made time to squeeze us in before the end of business hours as i was running late from driving in from upstate. Dr Malek is awesome as well as the entire staff . She did a full exam since or cat had never been out of the house since she was vetted as a kitten. They were so attentive, gentle and understanding of our frightened and sick kitty. They all were very communicative and thorough in addressing our questions and concerns. Not only was the issue treated, but Dr. Malek also counseled us on relieving our cat's apparent anxiety and stress, and how to reduce her weight. Our cat has already shown improvement in that department besides recovering from the medical issue! Our next visit will be for a final follow up along with the rabies vaccinations required by law. I had such a great first experience at Bond Vet with my Russian Blue cat Ernie. The whole team was great! He gets very nervous going to the vet so we gave him his Gabapentin before but was still a bit hissy. I felt so confident with Dr. Karandikar and Nurse Yuli though because they were not stressed or phased at all! Ernie ended up needing a lot of work due to intense constipation but Dr. Karandikar made my husband and I feel so much better and answered our 100 questions. They also have a great relationship with the Blue Pearl Animal Hospital which was helpful. I thought all their prices were very fair and transparent. It was such a calming environment. We will def continue to work with Dr. Karandikar in the future! read more

I had an appointment scheduled at Bond Vet for yesterday, but it was rescheduled to today because the clinic was short a vet. Now that I'm here, I've been told the doctor is behind schedule and it will be a very long wait. In the past, when I came as a walk-in, I understood waiting since scheduled appointments were prioritized -- why is today any different? On top of that, I had a wellness visit at another vet just last month, yet Bond Vet refused to honor it. When I first called on Thursday to make this appointment, the receptionist was both ill-informed and rude. It's frustrating to rearrange my plans two days in a row, deal with poor communication, and still not be seen on time. To make matters worse, the so-called physical exam was inadequate -- the doctor didn't even weigh my pet, only listened to his heartbeat. That is not a thorough exam, Dr. Wang. Additionally, I specifically requested the nasal Bordetella vaccine, but my pet was instead given the oral version, which is less effective. Why did you totally disregard my request and if there was an issue not discuss it with me? At this point, I feel I'm better off returning to my original vet in the city, Heart of Chelsea, where clients are treated with respect and care. Unfortunately, my experience at Bond Vet has been disrespectful, uncaring, and disappointing. read more

Bond Vet in Forest Hills is absolutely amazing. From the moment we walked in the door I knew we were in the right place. Soon as we walked in the door the receptionist said "Welcome Chewy" she knew who we were without even asking the normal routine questions. We came in because Chewy wasn't eating for two days and like the crazy first puppy parents we are we took him in and I'm glad we did. He also isn't sleeping at night. But they did a full check up on him, talked us through everything they were doing. They really made our nerves go away. Every single person we encountered there was amazing. Never go to this location. I came with my 10 weeks old puppy and I was late for 10 Mins they refused to see me. The office was empty. I was really upset. My puppy was shaking because she was scared being at the street, they saw it and they rejected her. Please never go to this location. We moved my 7y/o cat, Mosby, from Charlotte, NC to Kew Gardens this year. I took him to two separate vets in the area trying to find him care that somewhat compared to his previous. Third time's a charm! I am so grateful that we gave Bond Vet a chance. The booking process is seamless, the facility is clean, and the office staff is personable and kind. Regardless of taking gabapentin beforehand, my boy historically fights it and hyperventilates through the entire experience. At past vet visits, I have never seen him as calm as he was with Dr. Karandikar and her staff. She not only met, but exceeded my previous expectations. She takes her time to put you and your pet at ease, while clearly displaying her exceptional knowledge of veterinary medicine. Scheduling was easy and the visit was fine. The one star is for follow up. It is almost impossible to reach them for any reason during normal business hours. I learned they are a tech start up who hire vets, but the company is ran like a tech company. I tried calling every number listed online and texting the "text" number they offer. No response. The phone numbers tell you there's no one available and to call back during business hours. I called for a week straight M-F between 9a-5p. They don't have anyone who answers calls so if you have questions or concerns after your visit you're out of luck. I finally called and pressed the prompt to request a call back instead of waiting on hold (since no one answers anyway and you wait for nothing wasting time) and received a call from a call center woman named Michelle who was extremely rude, lacked empathy, and told me to make a new appointment to ask questions even though my cat was just seen and was prescribed medications, which they didn't have in stock so I had to drive 30 minutes out of my way to pick them up at a different location. I have taken all 7 of my pets to various Bond vets in the past, but after this experience I will never use any Bond Vet again. read more

A Nightmare Experience - I had an appointment for one of my dogs because she has been having severe diarrhea. Due to a complicated issue at home that morning, I arrived at 8:13 am (the appointment was 8:00). I texted them to alert them about my lateness. I started getting text messages if I got there 10 minutes late, there would be an extra charge (walk-in rate of $150), then 15 minutes. Late to be rescheduled. I was greeted with rudeness and a reminder of all their policies. Then, at 8:15 am, the second receptionist said you have to return at 10 am because you will not be seen now. I explained this was urgent, and I had to go to work. I tried to explain, again, why I was late to no avail. They insisted on recommending another clinic in the area if this was an emergency. BTW, the clinic was empty. The clinic's description does not match the reality I experienced. Both receptionists were inflexible, rude, and indifferent to my situation. They just repeated the "policy." This clinic just lost 3 potential clients because I was planning on bringing my 3 dogs. I have never been so appalled by a place that deals with pets. read more
