Visited Mordisco and had a mixed experience. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly, and…read morethe location was nice. However, at these prices, I expected a more seamless dining experience. Our reservation was for 6:00 PM, but we weren't seated until 6:15 PM. We were also charged $20 for bringing our own cake, which felt excessive. To make matters worse, we ordered from the Miami Spice menu, only to be told when dessert was served that the dessert we had selected was no longer available. That is unacceptable, especially when ordering from a set menu. The food was genuinely good, but the overall experience was expensive, and the service details didn't quite justify the price. Would I return? Yes, but probably not anytime soon. At this price point, I'd rather spend my money at a steakhouse like Perry's or Daniel's. Mordiscos has good food and a nice setting, but for what they charge, I expect better attention to detail and a more consistent experience.

The play gym area and the dining area around it were very clean. As I sat there for lunch, I saw a couple of different servers come by to clean and sweep after the children. There are a couple of four-top tables around the area, and we were seated at one. Our server, Mariarosa, was so sweet and on top of all we needed. She really made the experience exceed our expectations. The lunch menu was varied and priced fairly for the quality of food provided. I ordered the fish and shrimp ceviche bowl with rice. The patacones served with it were spot on. So crispy and delicious! For a couple of dollars more, one can choose to drink a soda, coffee, and/or dessert. Our whole party was really surprised by the overall quality of the food and service. Coupled with the fact that the children were occupied and were able to play safely while we dined was another spectacular perk.

OMG! And don't even get me started on those little arepas with the green sauce. YUMMMMM! Everything on that platter was packed with flavor. Now... let's talk about the fried rice. It was cold! I was actually going to bring it up to the waitress but my friend suggested we just take it home and reheat it later which is a shame because the dish looked delicious but when you're dining at a restaurant you expect your food to come out hot and fresh..especially fried rice. The sampler platter was definitely the highlight of the meal. But the cold fried rice really brought down the experience. I prefer the Miami lakes location. I don't think I'd come back again.

Mix ceviche -- so refreshing and loved the variety Jalea Bocas house (fried shrimp, fried fish, fried yuca fries) -- a little bit of everything and fried perfectly. Paired with the sauces. Skirt and fettuccine -- cooked as I requested (medium). Packed with flavor. SO FREAKING GOOD. Arroz cremoso de aji Amarillo with lomo saltado -- unique dish that worked so well. Recommend! Spicy margarita -- best drink here. Mezcal mule -- my mom and I didn't really like it because it was too smoky. Maria was kind enough to swap it out for us with another spicy margarita and didn't charge for the mezcal mule. Love the ambiance. They have daily promos on some of their items so be sure to check it out. I highly recommend this spot. 10/10

My wife had the bandeja paisa bowl, and I went with the risotto lomo saltado. That dish almost put me to sleep in the best way possible. Comfort food level 100. We had to finish the night with one of their coffees, and it was the perfect ending to the meal. Big shoutout to our server Elvis, who guided us through the menu and gave great recommendations. Usually menus with influences from so many different cultures can feel all over the place, but Luka somehow pulls it off perfectly. They're not just trying to do a little bit of everything. They truly feel like masters of it all. Definitely coming back.

I will say the food came out pretty quick, and just like everyone says, the coffee is really good. I guess it was the little things that bothered me, like having to ask for water, having to ask for utensils, asking twice for milk for my coffee, etc. The food was good, the coffee was great, but the service was disappointing. Let me make it clear though, that everybody was very friendly ... just inattentive. I am willing to come and try again.
