Large menudo is enough to feed 3 people!
Irene G.

Ordered the large menudo, it is enough to feed 2-3! The service was good and we got seated quickly!

They never disappoint! These are the steak fingers.

The best service, atmosphere and food. This was the first time to try their steak fingers. Sooo sooo sooo delicious!!! I can't wait to come visit this place again.

Sadly no margaritas, only canned, so going with beer

Delicious! Loved everything! Only thing we wish they had was real margaritas (they had canned, so we went with beer). The staff was friendly. The place was busy but we were seated right away. Authentic Mexican food! I had the enchilada, tamale, taco, rice and beans-all delicious! My husband and friends loved their meals as well. The chips and salsa was great! We would definitely come back if we were out this way again!

Regular salsa on left, spicy salsa (upon request) on right.

Wonderful meal!! I ordered a beef enchilada & cheese enchilada (without coleslaw as a garnish). I am an enchilada connoisseur, and I can say these are top notch central Texas style enchiladas. Savory gravy like enchilada sauce, wonderfully melted cheese and the beef had a nice seasoning and consistency. The beans were great and so was the rice. Chips were Crisp, the salsa had a nice fresh flavor with a hint of cilantro. I asked for a spicy salsa and it was nicely spicy and flavorful also. Overall fantastic meal, and great service (server was Marcus V) I will Definitely be back!!!

Monster cheeseburger with jalapeños.

My hamburger was soooooo good last time, that my husband ordered a cheeseburger for breakfast this morning. Yes, still the best burger in town. And huge! He was stuffed and saved the fries to make corned beef hash for breakfast tomorrow. I had the 2 eggs and potato plate covered with Spanish sauce and cheese. HUGE portion! That comes with a good sized serving of refritos and guiso and 2 tortillas. I focused on the beans, guiso, and tortillas... the eggs and potatoes will have to wait till Sunday for breakfast. Soooo much food for $10. I really liked the fresh flavor in the Spanish sauce, but i might skip the cheese next time even though it is really velvety melty yumminess (gotta save a calorie or two somewhere!) These are the best refritos i've enjoyed outside of my own kitchen. Not to heavy, not too salty, creamy with little bits of bean still in them. YUM! It is really hard not to like guiso and this one is very meaty; the small cubes of meat are super tender and the gravy is thick. Service was great, like last time. We were seated right away, gave us time to look at the menu, checked in with us, food was fast and fresh. Thanks, Franco's!

7/25/2026 our first time here at The Original Henry's since relocating to San Angelo on 1/14/2026…read more Since then, we have driven past TOH's numerous times and their parking lot was usually full. 2:15pm on a Saturday we were quickly seated and waited on. Kimberly was our server and perhaps one of the BEST waitresses we've had at any restaurant in San Angelo. She took our order and quickly brought out our drinks along with chips, salsa, guacamole and beans and within minutes both our dinners were brought out to us. With it being so quick, I do question the food prep which is not necessarily a negative thing. Sometimes when food arrives fast at a sit-down restaurant, it can feel alarming. However, it can be kitchen prep done hours before service so dishes can be rapidly assembled along with synchronized cooking stations designed for efficiency. Kimberly checked on us 3 times which was nice and cleared empty dishes out of our way. The place is clean, inviting, lots of seating and numerous menu choices. We both liked our choices and our bill was reasonable.

My Wife's Son, Joe, came over to celebrate his birthday. He chose the Original Henry's Mexican…read moreRestaurant for this Lunch. On Thursday's, Henry's has their Steak Specials running from 11 am until 5 pm, so Steak for lunch sounds like a winner for us. When we arrived, I wasn't really surprised that there are a lot of cars/trucks in the parking lot. Walked in, was greeted by the Hostess, and shown to a table in the Main Dining area. Right away, the Chips & Salsa Lady came by with their Red Salsa, Bean Dip topped with Gravy, and those Fresh Warm Chips for us to enjoy. Right after that, our Server, Monica, stopped by and took our drink order while we looked over the menu, mainly their Thursday Steak Specials. Those Chips and Salsa, which is on the Hot side, are delicious, but I tend to lean toward the Bean Dip topped with Gravy. That is some really good stuff. When Monica returned with our drinks, we placed our order. Joe is having the "KC Steak"; About 16 ounces of Hand Cut Sirloin, requested medium. Served with Baked Potato or French Fries, chose French Fries. Served with Frijoles Borracho's and a Salad. Nancy is having the same thing, but medium rare. I am going with the "Henry's New York Strip Steak"; About 14 ounces. Chose French Fries over the Baked Potato. Served with Frijoles Borracho's and a Salad. All Steaks are tenderized by the In-House-Butcher and seasoned accordingly. Traditional Kansas City-style Steaks are typically seasoned with a blend of Coarse Garlic Salt, Pepper, Coriander, and Chili Peppers. Henry's has other Steaks on their Thursday Specials; Besides the two kinds we ordered, they have "Spanish Steak"; About 14 ounces, with the same sides. The "Chicken Fried Steak"; Their CFS sits in a Cheese-Gravy and is one of the Best CFS's around. And they have the standard "Hamburger Steak"; topped with Brown Gravy & Onions. Right after Monica took our food order, she returned and with Fresh Warm Chips and more of the Red 'Hot' Salsa. That stuff warms you up from the inside out and is very tasty. We enjoyed those Chips and Dips, and then our Salads came out. I topped mine off with their Vinaigrette Dressing, my Wife chose Thousand Island, and I think Joe went with Ranch. Right after we finished the Delicious, Crisp and Flavorful Salads, our Steaks arrived. Henry's has always been pretty quick in serving their food, and the presentation is Spot-On. No matter what plate you order, it's always going to be a Beautiful Presentation. All three of our Steaks are glistening, and the aroma makes your tummy smile. We all three cut into our Steaks and they are Right-On, just the way they should be. I have had the KC Steak before, and it was Very Tastylicious, and that's what my Wife said about hers. Very Tender with lots of Flavor in every bite. Joe loved his also and ate all of it. My Wife didn't eat all of hers because, as she says, she isn't tall enough. I ate all of mine because I am tall enough. It was also Very Flavorful, Tenderlicious and just down-right great. Their Steaks cut very easy with a knife - it just falls through the Deliciousness with ease. Normally, a New York Strip Steak is seasoned by being patted dry, then liberally coated on all sides with kosher salt and black pepper. Some methods involve dry-brining for several hours, while others apply a simple mix of salt, pepper, and garlic powder just before cooking. Don't know if Henry's does theirs this way, but I do know that it's Awesomely Flavored. French Fries are pretty good, and I ate all of mine, but don't tell my Doctor. I'm not suppose to have this much Steak and Potatoes, and I've done this a couple times this week. So - Shhhhhhhhhhhh. No wonder their Frijoles Borracho's are Very Tasty. The Frijoles Borracho's (Drunken Beans) are a classic dish featuring Pinto Beans slow-simmered with Beer, Bacon, and aromatic Vegetables. Other key ingredients are Bacon rendered fat, Garlic, Jalapenos, Tomatoes, Cilantro, and dark Mexican Beer. All of that in a bowl for your enjoyment. And believe me, you will enjoy these. Monica earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award for going 'above-n-beyond' the norm. She checked on us at just the right times and was very pleasant to talk to. She also described how the Steaks were seasoned, prepared, and that the KC Steak is her favorite. She is Awesome. When we left, Henry's was pretty busy, as expected. Maybe they all came for the Steaks. On the way home, we enjoyed another Beautiful San Angelo Afternoon.

Yesterday was my Wife's Birthday, and we went out to Celebrate…read more Joe, Nancy's son, came over for the celebrations. We all left for "The GRILL" and when we entered, the place was packed, but they did have a table available, and it was near the Kitchen. At most restaurants, you don't want to be near the Kitchen, but at The GRILL, it's a great place to sit because you are closer to all that Aroma that fills the air all over the entire restaurant, and you get to watch them grill those Steaks. Haylee came over to our table to say "Hello". She is one of the Bartenders here at this time, and informed us that our Server is Katie, who will be with us shortly. We informed her that it's Nancy's "80th" Birthday, and Haylee wished her a Happy Birthday. We also ordered our drinks, Jack-N-Cokes for Nancy and me; Joe is having a Miller Lite. Katie came over shortly, and we informed her that Haylee took our drink order. Soon our drinks arrived, and we toasted to the Birthday Girl. Happy Birthday Nancy. We then looked over the menu some more, trying to decide what we wanted. This is a hard decision because everything they prepare here is delicious, and one of the Best Presentations of Tastyliciousness in town. When Katie returned, we placed our orders. The Birthday Girl is going with, and there is no surprise here, their "Slow Roasted Pork Nachos"; Chipotle Sauce, diced Tomatoes, Cilantro, Black Beans, Cheddar Cheese over Fresh Chips with sliced Green Jalapenos on the side, all covering a load of Fresh, Crunchy Chips. Joe is having their "Baby Back Ribs", "Fall-Off-The-Bone-Ribs" with house-made BBQ Sauce, served with Creamy Coleslaw & Shoestring Potatoes. He also ordered a side Salad with House Dressing. I am going with one of my favorites - everywhere - a Burger. Not just any burger, but their "Texas Burger": Half Pound of Seasoned Fresh Ground Chuck, Shredded Cheddar Cheese, Canadian Bacon, Onions, jalapeños, and mustard with Mesquite Sauce. Served with Shoestring Potatoes (choice). Orders are in, and we ordered another round of drinks for us. The GRILL has the best Bartenders in the area, and their drinks go down smooooooth. Our drinks arrived just before the food did, and it's hard to decide what to enjoy next. Okay, it was kind of easy. When you are presented with a drink, you take a sip just to let the drink know you appreciate it being a good drink. The GRILL does an amazing job with their Presentation of food. Joe's Baby Back Ribs are glistening on his platter (yes, a platter, not a plate), waiting for him to indulge. They didn't have to wait very long, because he did just that. Those Ribs have a lot of bones across the platter, and he started at one end and went to the other end. He said it was delicious, or something like that, because when one drools, it's hard to come up with the words. Their Shoestring Potatoes are always good, and the Creamy Coleslaw has a nice crunch to it, along with tasty flavoring. My Wife, as always, enjoyed those Slow Roasted Pork Nachos. There is a lot of pulled pork in there, along with a lot of everything else. The Jalapeños are on the side, so you can add as much heat to each bite as you want. This dish is not only Tastylicious, but a very Colorful one at that. It's like Christmas in August. Nancy ate more of this than she normally does. I took a bite, and it is really good, and what a deal. Joe finished off the rest, and the plate is clean. I have had this Texas Burger a few times before, and it's a hard one to pass up each time we are here. This must be a full Half-Pound patty, because it's Thick & Big. Love the strong taste and the amount of Cheddar Cheese Strips on this Burger; it's not too much, but it's also not a little amount. The Jalapeños are also just the right amount of heat to complement every bite. The Canadian Bacon on a Texas Burger does not sound right, but it is the right touch. The flavor goes perfectly with the entire Burger. For me, this entire Texas Burger is the Best Burger in the area, and I have had many a burger all over. Love those Shoestring Potatoes. They have a nice Crunch all the way around and are salted Just-Right. I usually do not salt anything per Doctor's orders, but these I make an exception for. The Texas Burger does it for me every time I order it. Every one of us joined the Clean Plate Club for the night, and we all get a Gold Star. Haylee and Katie earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award for going 'above-n-beyond' the norm. Haylee made our drinks for the night, and Katie checked on us throughout our stay at just the right time. Service at The GRILL has always been tops, and it was that again.

Our waiter came and took our drink and appetizers order. He even told us that it was "happy hour" time. Shortly after our drinks arrived we received our appetizers. They have eaten there several times and really like the food. My Wife and I arrived a little early and took a seat in their waiting area. Soon, our friends arrived, and the staff led us to our table/booth. The Chips & Salsa lady brought over a basket of Warm Chips and Red Medium-Heat Salsa for you to enjoy while looking over the menu. Our server, Janessa, came over, and we ordered our drinks: Dos XX Lager for me. My Wife is having water. The Chips are good and crunchy, and that Red Sauce is just what they say; it's Mediumly HOT, and very good. Soon, Janessa came over, and we placed our order. My Wife is going with their "Taco Salad"; In a decent-sized fried Tortilla Bowl, they add shredded Chicken or ground Beef. My wife chose Beef, with Black Refried Beans, Queso Dip, shredded Lettuce, diced Tomatoes, and Queso y Crema. I am having the "Baja Fish Tacos"; Three Fried or Grilled Fish (chose grilled), with Flour or Corn Tortillas (chose Corn). Topped with Chipotle Slaw & Avocado slices. Served with Black Beans in a red fried tortilla, also served with Rice. While we waited for our food, we enjoyed our drinks & chips and talked about our travels. Lots of good stories here that we are not going to post. Soon, our food is served, and my Wife's Taco Salad looks pretty good with lots of Cheese and Sour Cream on top. My Baja Fish Tacos are served on a rectangular plate and are a Beautiful Presentation. Not sure what Jimmy & Judy ordered, but both dishes looked delicious. There are Three Corn Tortillas with very, very little Baja Fish inside. So small, in fact, that I can't see the other fish inside the Corn Tortilla. Each Taco isn't even filled up to the top, with very little Chipotle Slaw. The Black Beans in the Red Fried Tortilla are just enough to cover the bottom of the tortilla. There is, however, a lot of Rice (enough for two). You can barely taste the fish inside each taco. Very disappointed in the amount of food they serve for $20.00. My Wife said pretty much the same about her Taco Salad. There is Beef at the bottom, mixed in with the Black Refried Beans and some kind of sauce, which turned this into a Soup-like creation. Not what you want inside a Taco Salad. Lots of shredded Lettuce with the shredded Cheese on top, along with the Sour Cream - and that didn't even bring it up to the top. The Tortilla Bowl itself is on the medium size, not huge nor small, but for $1400 you expect more. Overall, we are very disappointed in what you get for the money. Service was okay, but not outstanding. At first, they seemed to want to rush you out, but later on we enjoyed staying and having our conversation without interruption. Also, when they took our drink order, our server left without asking me what I wanted. Oops, that happens sometimes - I think. Anyway, that being said, the atmosphere is nice and is quiet for as open as it is. My Wife and I will go back, but only if someone invites us to join them and they pick Cielo Mexican Restaurant. We will then try something else and order another Beer. Their mixed drinks do look great, and I'm sure they are delicious, but we're not into those high prices.

"CELEBRATING ST. PATRICK'S DAY OUR WAY"…read more Yesterday was St Patrick's Day, you know, the day everyone thinks they are green and goes out to drink Green Beer. Well, my Lovely Green Wife and I also went out to drink Green Beer. Now remember what I have always said; "Green is good for you". So, that means that Green Beer is also good for you. We both are decked out in our Green and off we went. Well, it not only happens to be St. Patrick's Day, but in San Angelo they are having a Pub & Grub Crawl with 15 different places to crawl too on the map that we have. We can do that - so off we went. We parked right in the middle of where they show five locations. We started our crawling and guess what, we only see three locations here. Two of the five are empty buildings. Anyway, we crawled across the street and enjoyed a couple of Green Beers before having dinner. We walked down the street to get something to eat. No sense in crawling anymore, we didn't want to look stupid. On the corner is Fuentes Cafe Downtown for our early dinner. It's just before 4pm and this place has a lot of people here. I bet they thought it was the Pub & Grub Crawl and found out it was the day before - but who would do a thing like that. We were shown to a table and our Server, Darla, took our drink order. Two Green Beers to start. We looked over the menu while our Green Beers are being poured. Darla returned with their Warm Chips and Red Spicy Sauce for you to enjoy. We have been here before and we loved those chips and sauce. The Chips are thin and crispy and that sauce is just-right spicy. Our Green Beers arrived and they are a nice color of green, these really must be good for you. MMmmmmmmmm greenlyliciousness. Now it's time to order. My Wife is going with their "Guiso Burrito"; Large Warm Flour Tortilla stuffed with Guiso Stew Meat simmered in a seasoned sauce. Requested the burrito to be no topping of sauce. I am having "Grilled Fish Tacos" (three); Each has a strip of Grilled Fish Fillet, placed in soft Corn Tortilla with Guacamole, Cabbage & Pico de Gallo. Served with Rice & Refried Beans. While we waited we enjoying those Chips, Sauce and those Cold Green Beers. Soon our food arrived and my Wife's Guiso Burrito is Huge, with Mighty-Meaty-Chucks of Stew Meat inside. The presentation of my Fish Tacos is very impressive. They are all three stuffed to the top, with Pico de Gallo & Guac on a separate plate. Each taco also has it's own Lime Wedge and I squeezed them all dry on each taco, and topped them off even more with the Pico & Guac. The flavor of each one was Tacolicious with the fish being perfectly grilled. These are really, really gooooood. The Rice and Refried Beans were also very fresh and flavorful. I Love Tacos and these were the right choice for me. My Wife LoVeD her Guiso Burrito and said the meat was very Tendertastylicious and loving that sauce. She let me have a couple of bites and I totally agree, this was some good stuff. Fuentes Cafe Downtown was the right choice for us for our Grub and we didn't have to crawl here to enjoy some Mighty-Meaty chunks of Guiso Stew Meat and those Fresh Fish Tacos. Darla earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award for going 'above-n-beyond' the norm. She also wanted Nancy in the picture I took, so we obliged. When we left, we walked to our truck, not going to crawl when we don't have to. Just for the record, the map I copied does show 15 places for the Pub & Grub Crawl but two of those five shown on this street are permanently closed. So, it wasn't my fault, but one day I will learn how to read the small fine print showing the actual date. But on my behalf, in my youth I could of crawled to all fifteen locations, but I'm glad it was only one we crawled into. This was a very fun outing that we both enjoyed celebrating St. Patrick's Day. Love You Baby, Bunches & Pub&GrubMunches.

Smh The enchiladas were flavorless, the chicken was def boiled and shredded with ZERO seasoning. The rice had a bite to it, it was either old or under cooked. I was recommended this place as I'm from Dallas and in town for work. I'd try somewhere else first before this place. Yuck.
