Right next to the best cigar shop in London...
    Peter I.

Sat outside and watched what's left of London walk by.... lovely place and I'm sure when it's rocking it's the spot to be. Great street surrounded by shoe makers, suit and shirt makers.... so great. A had a nice glass of Rosè to start and terrific service by the whole staff. Good wine list btw! Started with the burrata, roasted tomatoes on a red tapenade. Amazing!!!! 10 stars. The spaghetti as has been reviewed was ok not great. Something in the sauce I didn't love. All in all, a delightful lunch that happens to be 100 ft from the best cigar shop in all of London!

I came here for a solo lunch and felt a bit underdressed. You get a real Wall Street vibe as everyone is on business lunches in their suits. That said, the staff is nothing but professional and in no way makes you feel out of place. I was seated promptly where I ordered the special appetizer of the day, steak tartare. I also went with the macaroni lamb ragout as an entree. This was all paired with a refreshing glass of rosé. The tartare was delicious and fresh at the perfect temperature. The quail eggs were a nice touch. The captain provided me a generous heaping of parmigiano reggiano on my macaroni. The serving size is not huge but perfect to be full without feeling bloated. The pricing is a bit on the higher side but well worth it for the food and experience. So go ahead and splurge a bit.

This place was one of the best I had in my week in London. Great atmosphere, helpful and friendly waitstaff and great food. Had the tagliolini with clams and courgette and the flavor and portion size was perfect. Highly recommend for anyone looking for nice but not over the top nice Italian in the area

    Tiramisu

We made an open table reservation yesterday for dinner this evening. We arrived about 20 minutes prior to expecting to wait. Instead we were immediately seated. My partner started with a bowl of potato soup, £10, he said it was fantastic. For mains I ordered the beef fillet, £39, with a side of green beans, £5. My husband chose to enjoy the classic lasagna, £18. Entrees came out in a good amount of time. I asked for my fillet to be prepared medium unfortunately it was served closer to rare. The flavor and size was excellent as well as the green beans. My husband thought his lasagna was the best he had ever had. I tried a bite, it was absolutely fantastic. For dessert we shared the tiramisu, it was excellent and a reasonable price, £8.75 Overall we were very pleased, would recommend, and will definitely be back!

    The lobster ravioli special

We came to Franco's from the recommendation of our hotel. The place does get busy, so I definitely recommend a reservation. I had the special lobster ravioli. It was lovely. I was afraid it was going to be a very thick, cream based sauce; however, I was pleased that it was light and butter based. My husband opted for the lasagna. For me, it was too cheesy, but he liked the dish. Portion sizes are pretty large, which is why we did not grab dessert!

The painting at the reception is pretty unconventional.

I did not eat here, I sat outside and enjoyed a cigar from Davidoff which is across the street.

The bartender was absolutely charming and amazing, and he made a truly outstanding Ramos Gin Fizz (a cocktail from New Orleans that few people know how to make, and even fewer want to make). Not sure how that cocktail came up, but he seriously deserves a round of applause for making not one, but two. He truly revived my soul! I split the gazpacho and short rib pasta with my husband. The short rib pasta was magically both light and hearty; it was exactly what we needed after 18 hours of travel. We frequently travel, and I am highly skeptical of Italian food when outside of Italy. Bocconcino was an authentic experience that rivals many of our meals in Rome. Maybe it was jet lag, but I did almost lock myself into the water closet and luckily after a few minutes manage to unlock the stall door without calling for assurance. I suggest visiting with a friend for gossip and security! As far as ambiance, there was great people watching with the Saturday evening patrons; it was an experience in learning about London 'going out' fashion, and watching the very attractive staff interact with customers was a prime education in upper class customer service/flirting. My parting comment is that the bartender stole my heart and I hope to have another of his delicious beverages on a future trip!
