The one area I would encourage the clinic to improve is how information regarding laboratory testing and treatment is communicated to patients, particularly when it comes to insurance requirements. I was informed that certain labs and treatment could not be completed during the same visit due to insurance requirements. As someone who has six years of experience working with insurance and medical billing, as well as working in a physician's office, I understand that this is not necessarily an insurance limitation. In many cases, multiple services can be appropriately billed and completed during the same visit, depending on the circumstances. If the decision to separate services is based on the clinic's internal policies or procedures, I completely respect the clinic's right to establish those policies. However, I would strongly encourage staff to communicate this accurately to patients rather than attributing the decision to insurance when that may not be the actual reason. A simple explanation such as, "Per our office policy, we are unable to complete both services during the same visit," would be much more transparent and would prevent patients from receiving potentially misleading information about their insurance coverage. After my appointment, I contacted my insurance company directly to verify the information I had been given. As I suspected, I was informed that both services could be performed during the same visit and that there was no insurance requirement preventing them from being done together. Of course, I understand that individual circumstances and payer policies can vary, but when there is no actual insurance restriction, the distinction between an insurance requirement and an office policy is important. As someone who works in medical billing and insurance, I also understand that there are appropriate billing mechanisms, including modifiers when applicable, that allow providers to bill for multiple medically necessary services performed during the same encounter. For that reason, I believe patients deserve clear and accurate information about whether a limitation is coming from their insurance plan or from the clinic's own policy. Overall, I had a very positive experience with the staff and their professionalism. My concern is specifically with the way the insurance information was communicated. I sincerely hope the clinic will consider being more transparent and precise when explaining billing and insurance-related policies to patients. He didn't check the heart beat or anything so then I rushed to see someone else that same day to make sure things were okay. When I called back to ask a question I was told I couldn't talk to him and that it was all normal (if it was normal than why didn't he or the nurse let me know ahead of time). After seeing I canceled they called me to tell me that I was wrong that they did check the heart beat. I think I know what they did and didn't do with my body.

I show up at 10:50 am for her to tell me she put me under the wrong name and I would have to come back at 3:00pm. What happens to the 11:15 spot? I'm in pain and she had no empathy what so ever. The other receptionist even found me in the system and Mallory swore I was a new patient even though I was there in December. Hire a new receptionist because I will no longer go there if she is there. I will not allow her to touch me. I will drive in pain to Calallen for care where they can see me sooner than 3:00pm as a new patient. They understand when someone is in dire need of assistance.
